Ghost Exorciser: The Oust Fake Heiress Strikes-Chapter 319: Control
The uncle and niece had an amazing time together and later returned to the mansion.
Lana felt utterly exhausted and decided to rest early that night.
The moment she closed her eyes, however, she was once again pulled into that familiar dream.
When she saw Lucian sitting on the edge of a bed, casually scrolling through his phone with nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist, she immediately walked up behind him and hugged him from the back.
"I missed you," she murmured softly, resting her cheek against his shoulder.
Lucian put his phone aside and turned toward her. A faint smile appeared on his face as Lana blushed.
"I missed you too," he replied gently.
Lana sighed inwardly.
’Sometimes I wish the Lucian in my dreams resembled his real personality a little more,’ she thought.
She leaned forward and kissed him lightly on the lips before pulling away.
Lucian looked momentarily stunned, yet there was a clear warmth in his eyes.
His calm, composed demeanor and his natural politeness always drew her in.
When she kissed him again, Lucian responded this time, his movements more deliberate.
Lana felt the shift immediately and could not help but marvel.
’So I really can influence how he behaves here,’ she realized.
With a small, mischievous thought, she wished he would act a little more domineering.
The next second, Lucian’s arm wrapped firmly around her waist as he pulled her closer, kissing her with an intensity that made her heart race, as if she were something precious he refused to let go of.
Lana felt her legs weaken slightly.
When he finally pulled back, she could only murmur in a dazed voice,
"You really know how to make someone’s heart flutter."
Lucian simply smiled at her.
Seeing that smile, Lana reached up and touched his lips gently.
"You have one of the most beautiful smiles I’ve ever seen," she whispered.
She hugged him again, closing her eyes.
"I wish this dream would never end."
Lucian seemed as though he wanted to hold her just as tightly, yet he restrained himself.
The two spent what felt like a peaceful, intimate night together.
Even within the dream, Lana never crossed her own boundaries. She always held herself back.
When the dream finally faded, Lana woke up slowly, unconsciously touching her lips.
"These nights are always so short," she muttered.
Mr. Crow, who had been cultivating nearby, opened one eye and looked at her before rolling his eyes.
"You should realize there’s something very strange about these dreams," he remarked. "You should get yourself checked."
Lana waved her hand dismissively.
"You’re overthinking," she replied. "It’s just because I lust after my crush. Nothing serious."
With that, she went to take a shower.
Afterward, she returned to the Mystic Department.
Just as she settled down, her phone began chiming repeatedly, as if someone were bombarding her with messages.
At first, she frowned in confusion. When she checked, she realized it was Cassandra sending multiple images.
Curious, Lana opened them.
They were advertisements for the exact same land project she had already predicted would become a massive financial disaster for investors.
Another message from Cassandra appeared:
"This land will yield a 100% return. Now is the best time to invest. I can even help you secure a loan if you don’t have enough funds."
Lana nearly laughed out loud.
’She really can’t get any more shameless,’ she thought.
Cassandra had even attached a contract.
When Lana read its terms, she almost burst into laughter.
It clearly stated that if Lana failed to repay one hundred million dollars within three months, she would be charged one million dollars in interest every single day.
By the fourth month, the total would balloon to one hundred thirty million, with additional daily interest continuing to stack.
Lana shook her head.
"Truly foolish," she muttered.
She typed a short reply:
"Do you think I’m stupid?"
After sending it, she blocked that number immediately.
By now, she had already blocked nearly ten of Cassandra’s numbers, yet somehow Cassandra always managed to contact her again, even after Lana changed her own number several times.
’Does she have some kind of divination ability?’ Lana wondered briefly before dismissing the thought.
Meanwhile, in another room, Cassandra massaged her temples in frustration.
Garrison had been repeatedly pressuring her to convince Lana to invest in that land, but despite her constant attempts, Lana had completely ignored her and even mocked her message.
Feeling uneasy, Cassandra finally went to Garrison’s study.
Garrison looked up the moment she entered, hope flickering in his eyes.
"Did she agree this time?" he asked.
Cassandra shook her head.
"I think she already knows there’s something wrong with that land," she admitted.
"Otherwise she wouldn’t have sent that message asking if I thought she was a fool."
Garrison’s expression darkened as he clenched his fists.
"That girl..." he muttered. "She doesn’t even understand what’s good for her."
Then he looked at Cassandra again, his expression softening into a calculated smile.
"If that’s the case," he said calmly, "you don’t need to worry anymore. I’ll handle everything from here."
Cassandra nodded, but after a moment she hesitated. She looked at Garrison again, her expression turning serious.
"I didn’t want to mention this before," she said slowly, "but I recently noticed something strange. Lana has been coming out of the Mystic Department two or three times. At first, I thought she just had some work there. But now... it seems as if Lana is a mystic cultivator herself."
The moment those words left her mouth, Garrison’s eyes widened.
"That’s impossible," he said sharply. "How can Lana become a cultivator? She didn’t even show talent for cultivation before."
Cassandra shrugged lightly.
"I don’t know how," she replied. "But I’m certain about one thing... she is a cultivator."
Garrison’s expression darkened as his eyes narrowed thoughtfully.
"If that’s the case," he muttered, "then I need to change my tactics."
He suddenly pulled Cassandra into his arms and kissed her deeply.
"Because you’re by my side," he whispered, "I can manage so many things. Otherwise, I’d be in serious trouble."
