Giant Dragon Lord: Starting from Daily Intelligence-Chapter 113 - 109: Lillian Arrives
Raylo sat steadily on Baofeng’s back.
Soon, the few reckless Iron-backed Falcons were all driven off or shot down.
One of the Iron-backed Falcons, perhaps delirious with hunger, even tried to sneak up from below on a Griffin carrying a slab of meat, but the Storm Griffin simply turned its head and pecked it on the skull. It tumbled away in a daze, and Ed roared with laughter at the pathetic sight.
With these minor annoyances cleared, the group continued on their way.
Similar harassment occurred several more times along the journey, but the Storm Griffins handled it all with ease.
After nearly half a day of flying, the sky began to darken. The afterglow of the sunset painted the clouds at the horizon a magnificent orange-red.
In the distance, the rough, sturdy silhouette of Black Stone Castle slowly came into focus through the twilight.
Soldiers in the castle’s watchtowers had already spotted the returning formation of Storm Griffins, and the faint flicker of torches and human figures could be seen.
Baofeng let out a long, low cry, seemingly cheering at their imminent arrival.
It glided smoothly, carrying Raylo, and landed in the open ground before the castle.
Dust swirled up from the open ground as the Griffins landed.
Raylo leaped nimbly from Baofeng’s broad back.
Ed followed close behind, calling to the attendants who had come out from the castle at the sound.
"Ed, arrange for some men to process this Crocodile Dragon Meat as quickly as possible."
Raylo’s gaze swept over the chunks of meat, which still reeked of blood.
"Yes, My Lord."
Ed bowed in acknowledgment before turning to give methodical commands.
Although the Mire Crocodile Dragon’s carcass had been roughly butchered, fully processing it—deboning, skinning, sorting the different cuts of meat, and preserving them with special spices and techniques—was still a laborious task.
These precious Tier Four Magical Beast materials were extremely valuable, whether as food, alchemical ingredients, or rewards.
Baofeng gave a low growl and affectionately nuzzled Raylo’s armor, then trotted familiarly toward the open ground before the castle.
There, the Dragon Thorn Fruit Tree was exuding a tempting, fresh fragrance. Baofeng seemed to regard the tree as a treasure under its protection.
Under Ed’s direction, the other Storm Griffins unloaded the remaining pieces of the Mire Crocodile Dragon carcass.
Attendants brought out fresh meat for the Storm Griffins. After they had eaten their fill, at a sharp cry from Baofeng, they returned to their forested roosts.
Night fell, and the study was brightly lit.
Raylo spread out the stone slabs that recorded the Dragon Knight Inheritance. His brow furrowed slightly as his fingertips gently brushed over the ancient patterns.
This inheritance was far more profound and powerful than he had anticipated. It contained not only Secret Techniques for tempering the body and awakening one’s bloodline, but also skills for fighting with Dragon Power.
In addition, the stone slabs held formulas for crafting powerful Magic Equipment and Potions using materials like Dragon Blood and Dragon Scale.
’To fully master this and cultivate true Dragon Descendant Knights, my current resources and abilities are far from enough.’
’Master Barnaby...’
A name surfaced in Raylo’s mind.
’If I could get help from that Alchemy Master, hailed as a "Medicine Genius," the plan to cultivate Dragon Descendant Knights would be twice as effective with half the effort.’
’But the master is eccentric; ordinary treasures and power can’t move him.’
’It won’t be easy to "invite" him to Black Stone Territory.’
Raylo rubbed the bridge of his nose, feeling a headache coming on.
"Awoo!"
Moonlight’s cry interrupted his thoughts.
She had just finished a grand meal of "Roasted Crocodile Dragon Meat" prepared by the cook, Marlin, and was now lounging leisurely by Raylo’s desk.
Raylo set aside his thoughts for the moment and stroked Moonlight’s soft neck fur. Feeling the faint, cool aura emanating from her, his chaotic thoughts began to settle.
He looked at Moonlight, and an idea flashed through his mind like lightning.
’Isn’t Master Barnaby interested in Mutated Silver Dragons?’
’What if I could find a special way to let Master Barnaby "accidentally" discover clues of a "suspected" Silver Dragon in Black Stone Territory, while also ensuring Moonlight’s true identity isn’t revealed...’
’The key to this plan is "luring," not "forcing."’
’I need to design a scheme clever enough to make Master Barnaby come of his own accord and willingly serve Black Stone Territory for a period of time.’
The more he thought about it, the more feasible the plan seemed. He even found himself looking forward to seeing the "Medicine Genius" rushing over in a hurry after having his curiosity thoroughly piqued.
’At that point, I’ll present him with the Potion-related challenges from the Dragon Knight Inheritance. There’s no way he won’t be tempted.’
Raylo stroked his chin, pondering the details of the plan.
At this thought, Raylo’s mood brightened considerably, and much of his fatigue from the past few days dissipated.
He picked up Moonlight, scratching her chin. This whole affair would require some cooperation from the little powerhouse.
Moonlight squinted her eyes in comfort and snuggled deeper into his arms, clearly enjoying the affection.
After organizing his thoughts, he summoned an attendant and gave a few quiet instructions.
"Have Ed arrange for a few people to make a trip to Giant Stone City."
"..."
The next afternoon, the sun was shining brightly.
On the castle plaza.
Knights and Knight Apprentices were split into two groups for training.
With the help of the Knight’s Strength Potions concocted by Carl, the number of people in the territory breaking through to become Knights and Great Knights had multiplied several times over in recent days.
Watching the territory’s power grow bit by bit, Raylo felt his spirits lift.
Just then, a Pegasus Knight came speeding in from the distant sky. After circling the castle once, he landed precisely on the edge of the plaza.
