Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle-Chapter 568 : Rewarded
Laura took a deep breath as she looked at the two Tyrant Zombies. Previously, these creatures were something she couldn't handle and her only move was to flee… However, this time, she felt more confident dealing with them.
"Here they come…"
The Tyrant Zombies soon noticed their presence but still remained near the abandoned bus.
The three of them immediately realized that the Tyrant Zombies, who were more intelligent than other Zombies, must be guarding something.
'This is a lot more interesting than I thought…' Layla thought for a moment.
Then, she also noticed something else…
"Wait… They're a lot bigger than what I recall." Layla muttered as she realized that the Tyrant Zombie seemed taller and its limb was also longer.
Both Tyrant Zombies stood at nearly twelve feet tall, which should only be about seven to eight feet tall.
She only noticed this as soon as they had gotten closer!
Their eyes locked onto the three women, and as expected, it was followed by a deep roar…
Then—
The Tyrants charged.
"Hey… We're being watched by Miss Raze from the other side. Let's do our best." Layla said to her two companions.
She actually didn't notice Raze and only felt her presence after she spread out her Perception to find any items that she could use for her Telekinesis.
"Ahh… Is she here to protect us?" Laura muttered.
"Maybe… After all, these two Tyrants weren't normal. The two Eclipse Guards may not be enough if something goes wrong." Klara replied.
Layla smiled as she acted against the two Tyrants first.
With a flick of her wrist, she sent three large spiked metal balls flying toward the oncoming Tyrants using her Telekinesis Talent. These spiked metal balls weren't really special aside from being huge.
They were made from scrap metals she would loot from time to time.
With the help of the people in the Springriver Manor, she was able to create dozens of large spiked metal balls and store them in her inventory.
Because of that, she would no longer have to worry about not having items to throw against her opponent. If she used them properly, even high-tier Zombies wouldn't survive at all.
As for her special daggers, needles, and other throwing weapons, she would only use them if the defense of her target was already weakened. Using them immediately wouldn't give her the best result after all.
The two Tyrant Zombies seemed to be confident of their defense as they just rammed through the three spiked metal balls! However, one of them moved faster and actually took all the three metal balls!
CRASH!
One of the metal balls slammed into the Tyrant's head, staggering it. It made some holes on its head before the metal ball dropped. It failed to kill the Tyrant Zombie but it was fine. It seemed that its brain was not its weakness.
The other two metal balls smashed against its legs, halting its charge completely.
"Nice hit!" Klara called out as she saw an opportunity.
But the second Tyrant didn't slow down.
It actually leaped forward, something that other Tyrant Zombies wouldn't do. There was no doubt that this was a variant of Tyrant Zombies!
No wonder Raze had to come here to watch their battle.
BOOM!
The three immediately scattered as they didn't want to get squashed by the huge Tyrant Zombie.
As soon as they got on their feet, Klara thrust her hand forward, her Elemental Manipulation Talent called upon the earth beneath them.
A stone pillar erupted from the ground, slamming into the Tyrant's midsection and knocking it back.
Thud!
The creature roared, perhaps due to anger, but Klara wasn't done.
With a second wave of her hand, a spark came out from the Fire Starter Amulet that she had. This, in turn, allowed her to use her Fire Manipulation.
Well, her talent was only Elemental Manipulation, she couldn't create them out of nothing. Because of that, she still had to find those elements before she could manipulate them.
Anyway, a burst of fire immediately appeared and it ignited across the Zombie's chest.
The flames burned its rotting flesh and it actually started sending up a foul-smelling smoke.
'Ugh… I guess it's not a good idea to burn them like this.' She thought for a moment.
Yet, the Zombie didn't stop as it couldn't feel any pain…
The Tyrant charged through the flames, its massive arm aimed to crush Klara. It seemed that it wanted to kill someone with it before being burned to death.
Klara barely dodged as she only had two movement skills. One of them was the Three-meter Jump Skill, which helped her avoid the attack.
Boom!
The impact shattered the ground where she had just been standing.
Meanwhile, Layla focused her Telekinesis on the first Tyrant, lifting its entire arm mid-swing, forcing it to stumble off balance.
"Laura, now!" Layla shouted.
Laura stepped forward, her Telepathy Talent activated.
To be honest, she wasn't sure if this was effective against Zombies. After all, she had only tried this talent against other Survivors.
'Please work!'
With this, Laura sent a powerful psychic wave directly into the Tyrant's mind—
It was a mental assault designed to disrupt its aggression.
Thankfully, the undead still had some form of sentience even if it was only through instinct. As long as it's sentient, her ability would still actually work.
Just like that, the undead creature froze, its rotting head twitching violently as it tried to resist her mental intrusion.
Beads of sweat on Laura's forehead started appearing as she used her talent. The thing had almost no mind to manipulate—only pure hunger. It was tough!
Still, she pressed on.
"STAND STILL!"
A pulse of psychic force flowed outward, stunning the creature long enough for Layla to send 12 Epic Grade Daggers flying into its skull, heart, and body!
Thud! Thud! Thud!
The impact dented the bone and sent the beast toppling onto its back. Somewhere in its body, Layla was able to hit its Zombie Core!
One down.
But the second Tyrant was still rampaging.
Klara continued to manipulate fire, the most destructive element, as she channeled her power in front of her.
"Time to finish this."
Klara waved her head and threw the ball of fire to the Zombie!
Boom!
It didn't end there, she took out the ice she had kept in her inventory. They were purchased from the Marketplace for an expensive price but she was able to have a few of them for emergency use.
Soon, she manipulated the ice and turned it into a spear!
As soon as the Zombie was able to remove the fire from its body, the ice spear moved and impaled the Tyrant's left thigh.
It didn't end there, Klara clenched her fist and the ice exploded.
Boom!
A sharp shockwave sent the monster backward. Just like that its entire leg was mangled!
"That's a lot stronger than I thought…" Klara muttered as she saw the effect of her attack.
But still—the Zombie tried to rise.
Layla intervened, using her Telekinesis to crash another spiked metal ball on its head!
"Laura, finish it!"
Laura closed her eyes and concentrated.
She sent a telepathic force to the Zombie. This time, it was a mental command directly into the Tyrant's nervous system.
For a second—the creature froze.

The mental attack was like a bomb detonating inside its body…
As soon as it becomes defenseless, even a normal bullet would be enough to kill it.
However, they still didn't use any powerful weapon and simply attacked with another fire…
BAM!
The Tyrant's body collapsed as it was soon burned to death.
"That's a win," Klara said with a smile as she looked at the abandoned bus.
On the other hand, the two Eclipse Guards, who had been watching from afar, lowered their rifles.
One of them gave an impressed remark…
"That was smooth. If that's what those three can do together, then there shouldn't be any issues even if they fight against a horde…"
"That makes sense… They focused on using their Talents this time. They still have a lot of skills, weapons, and items unused."
The two Eclipse Guards then looked in Raze's direction but realized that she had already left the place. They knew that Raze must've been concerned about the three girls as well.
In any case, the two Eclipse Guards then watched as the three looted the Tyrant Zombies and soon, they started checking out the abandoned bus that the Tyrant Zombies seemed to be protecting.

"Terrible… I shouldn't have looted it. I told you." Layla wryly smiled as she looked at Laura. She had just looted the Tyrant Champion Zombie
Well, the reward she previously received from killing a Zombie Lord was the enhancement of her Telekinesis Talent and not something related to her looting chance... She also obtained a decent armor set but it was all sold to Shane since it wasn't suited for her.
Indeed, she already killed a Zombie Lord sometime with Shanes' assistance. It happened during the construction of the refineries.
"It's fine… We don't have a good hand as well." Klara said with a chuckle. She wasn't expecting much after all.
"But since the two of you looted and got more experience than me, I will have the first pick on the treasures inside the bus." Laura said as she already felt that something was there.
"Alright… Let's look inside." Layla said as the three carefully inspected the abandoned bus.
