Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle-Chapter 626: The Weapons Expert
"Will that be fine?" Shane muttered to himself.
The Elves heard this and nodded.
"Yes… I can imagine—a fragment of the Fairy Realm, rooted in this world. It might help us access our Nature Magic…" Thalion said as he looked at his surroundings.
Shane nodded at this. He then further asked the elves about their benefits.
"If we have a World Sapling in the shelter? It's mana alone would strengthen barriers, purify the air, maybe even repel zombies." Thalion said.
"Do it. Plant one near the Monument Pond. The rest can be turned into arrows or wands for our mages." Aranion added as he looked at the rest of the World Tree's parts.
Thalion, however, held a leaf in his palm and traced the veins of the leaf.
"These… they are miracles. Even a single one could close a mortal wound in minutes." He said.
Shane nodded as he also learned about this after reading its description.
"Is there anything else we could do with these leaves?"
"Hmmm… We could brew them into potions," Aranion suggested. "A single leaf could make a dozen vials of Elixir of Clarity—enough to cure an entire squad of poison or curses."
Thalion agreed before he added, "Or we could embed them into armor. A leaf sewn into a cloak could grant passive regeneration."
Shane's eyes lit up after hearing this. As expected of the elves, they had better ideas than him.
Shane knew that he just needed to take a small portion of them to be given to the physicians and crafters before handing all the rest to the elves...
"Let's do both. Half for potions, half for gear. Our medics and frontline fighters need them…"

Finally, Shane held up a bark fragment. He had quite a lot of them, but Shane wasn't exactly sure how to use them to their full potential.
"This one's special. The System says it can grant 'ancient knowledge' or enchant gear randomly. How do we control that?"
Aranion nodded as he knew that these tree bark were normally used for scrolls, but it also had other effects...
"We don't control it. But we can guide it."
Thalion then explained what kind of things they could make on these barks, and Shane listened attentively.
After some time, Aranion also added, "We also have another method where we grind it into ink by adding some other ingredients. Enchantments carved with this ink will be more powerful."
Shane's lips curled as he realized that there were truly plenty of things they could do with these materials. They just needed the crafters for that....
"Perfect. We'll use all of them. I'll try to get more of them next week... Take some of them, and the rest will go to our best crafters."
"Lord Shane… You can get more? These gifts are precious. The World Tree does not give without reason."
"I know," Shane said. "Don't worry, the World Tree told me I'd return."
The elves exchanged another glance. "Then it has claimed you," Aranion murmured.
"Be cautious. Such beings do not act without purpose."
Although the elves basically worship the World Tree, they also knew that they had to be careful around it.
Shane smiled as he also knew how the World Tree was corrupted in the Fairy Realm Invasion of his past life.
"Don't worry… If it wants a favor, it'll have to get in line. Right now, we've got zombies to kill."
The elves chuckled, but their eyes remained wary.
"Come on… Let's get to work." Shane said.

In the meantime, as Shane was busy in the New Genesis Shelter, Spencer Blakely, the nobleman that Shane had previously recruited, was the one managing the Eclipse Domain, if the Butlers weren't present. ( Chapter 410 )
"I don't really think that we're going to be defeated with this level of defense…" Spencer muttered as he looked at the information related to the Shelter's defense.
Previously, he was only tasked with crafting or smithing firearms and various weapons. However, as he got more apprentices under him, he soon had an easier time in his work.
Just like that, he slowly climbed up to his position and became part of the Strategic Command of the shelter.
At this time, he was looking at the information on the outermost wall of the shelter.
Automated Turrets ( Mk.IV ) – ( Equipped with armor-piercing rounds, energy bullets, and incendiary bombs. ) x20
Ballistae – ( Equipped with reinforced steel bolts and other enhanced bolts. ) x15
Flame Throwers – ( Mounted at choke points. Equipped with napalm-grade fire. ) x15
With the amount of fuel that they had, he believed that they could actually equip a hundred Flame Throwers, and they could burn Zombies for a whole day.
However, since Shane had a total of four shelters, it was normal to place the other Flame Throwers in other shelters.
'Still… I wonder if the Fourth Zombie Wave can penetrate this.' He muttered as he looked at the other defense.
[ Explosive Barbed Wire: A spool of barbed wire infused with explosives, perfect for setting traps. Once triggered, it creates an explosive barrier that can take down multiple zombies at once. ]
It was a vicious deterrent against Climber Zombies, detonating on contact and showering the area with shrapnel.
The whole outer and the areas where the Zombies would most likely target were filled with these wires.
Of course, there was also a Bio-Barrier Generator installed on this outermost wall, but because of the size, this Barrier wasn't that strong compared to the inner walls.
Indeed, the Middle Wall of the Shelter was fully equipped with stronger Barriers.
There were multiple Bio-Barrier Generators installed here to block any intruders who managed to pass through the outer wall.
However, there were also six Bulwark Beacons. They were six towering obelisks that could release a force field, capable of withstanding a Tyrant Zombie's charge without buckling.
Then, there were also several Automated Turrets on them aside from the dozens of Watch Towers filled with snipers and archers.
Of course, with the presence of the Distillation Tower that was creating their high-grade fuel, there were other defenses arranged in that area.
As a matter of fact, there were also some Guardian Sentry Drones patrolling the surroundings of the Distillation Tower.
They were floating, AI-controlled drones with dual plasma casters!
But even this wasn't enough.
The Distillation Tower was too valuable. If it fell, New Genesis and all subsidiary shelters would lose fuel reserves within weeks.
Shane had foreseen this. Months ago, he had already purchased the Blueprint of Gaia's Defense in his Reputation Store.
[ Gaia's Defense (Advanced Barrier Generator): A relic of lost technology, Gaia's Defense is more than a barrier—it is a living fortress. Drawing energy from the earth itself, it creates an adaptive shield that hardens in response to damage, making it nearly impervious to sustained assaults. Legends say the ancients used such devices to hold back entire armies of the damned. ]
[ Requirements for Construction:
15,000x Stabilized Power Crystals – To power the generator's core.
5x Adamantine Plates – For the reactor housing (highly corrosion-resistant).
1x Elder Drake's Heart – A beating, bio-mechanical organ that regulates energy flow (purchased from the Anima Store for 500 Reputation Points
3x Tesla-Coil Dynamos – To convert energy into barrier.
Specialized Labor: Master Engineer. ]
Unfortunately, acquiring 5000 Power Cores or Crystals wasn't possible even if he could purchase all the Power Cores in the Marketplace.
Thankfully, they were able to make adjustments.
Instead of needing 15,000 Power Crystals, they just needed 150 High Purity Mana Crystals and it could equal the Power Crystals needed.
'I should check it out.' Spencer thought to himself as he was curious how the project was progressing.

Soon, at the center of Eclipse Domain, Engineer Mercer wiped sweat from his brow as he oversaw the final preparations.
He really had a lot of work across the shelters, and this project was the most difficult one.
Thankfully, he had some great laborers with him, especially the Hybrids that Shane had recruited. If not for them, he would have a huge trouble making these things.
"Alright, just be careful!" he said as he saw that the workers were progressing too fast and there might be a problem occurring.
"This isn't just another turret. One wrong connection, and we'll vaporize the whole damn district! Make sure to let the inspectors do their job."
After this, he visited the Core Chamber.
As soon as he entered, he saw that the two Adamantine Plates were welded into a hexagonal chamber.
This was also where the 150 High-Grade Mana Crystals are located.
"Heart's stable, Barrier matrix can be initialized." One engineer confirmed…
It was at this time that Spencer Blakely arrived to check their progress.
Eliot simply nodded at the man as he knew who he was. He knew very well that most of the Ballista, Firearms, Bullets, and even Flame Throwers were made by this weapons expert.
Spencer also just waved at the man as he looked at the three Tesla-Coil Dynamos arranged in a triangle around the core… There were arcs of electricity synchronizing into the core, and he couldn't help but feel impressed.
'This Gaia's Defense will be important…' Spencer mused as he could feel the energy coming from it.
