Global Awakening: Infinite Gift Pack System-Chapter 147: The World Chat
Renji froze in shock as the shadow of the massive flying fortress drifted above him...
’What in the world? Isn’t this supposed to be a Rebellion of human-made Artificial Intelligence? Why does it feel like I entered Alien Invasion? This is cheating!’
He couldn’t imagine himself standing against that thing!
Still, he could only complain in silence as he didn’t want to get noticed by that thing in the sky.
The mechanized citadel was just too intimidating!
Its engines were rumbling like thunder, and he could also see numerous weapons or barrels of cannons sticking out everywhere.
Of course, it was the same fortress Kai’s group had seen before.
For a moment, Renji felt small.
His androids stood silently behind him as they were probably trying to understand what they were seeing in the sky.
’Just don’t drop some Tyrants or some other huge mechs...’
Renji clenched his fists as he stared in the direction the fortress was heading.
"Wait... That’s probably where the A.I. base is located... or maybe something important is happening there," he mused.
He knew one thing for certain... If the system had truly sent them here to end the apocalypse, then hiding in ruins would never be enough. Sooner or later, he would have to go where the enemies were.
Because of that, he observed the flying fortress carefully as he considered the path it was taking.
If it was heading to a Human Shelter or maybe to another A.I. Base to refuel, he wanted to know where it was exactly...
After all, if it was actually trying to attack another shelter, then that place would soon become a battlefield. He might find some important things there that he could scavenge.
But if it was moving to reinforce another A.I. stronghold, then following it might reveal their next target.
Either way, it was important.
"Hu~ I need to be patient... I can do this." As he said this, the flying fortress was already in the horizon... and it didn’t drop any Tyrants or Sentinels!
"Nice..."
Renji knew that he wasn’t strong enough yet. His androids were powerful, but crude. His plasma rifles were precious, but limited. Still, his Mechanical Expert talent gave him an edge. If he could scavenge more, repair faster, and keep building, he might stand a chance and reach the higher level soon.
Renji then turned to Android 9 and 18.
At a glance, they looked almost human now. Their faces had synthetic skin, giving them the appearance of young women with impressive features.
They had black hair that fell unevenly to their shoulders, and blue eyes that were quite charming. Their designer or previous owner must have spent a lot of time designing their faces.
Of course, most of their synthetic skin was already gone when he found these two in the junkyard.
There were even remnants of their burned human‑skin covers at that time. But he had already stripped away those useless synthetic skins and left the ones on their faces.
In short, all other body parts were just raw machinery beneath. To hide this, Renji had wrapped their exposed joints and body in cloth and bandages, covering most of their mechanical frames.
"We’re not staying here. We’ll follow that fortress."
The humanoid machines or androids didn’t respond, but their optic lights blinked as if acknowledging his command.
They seemed to have problems with their programming or it was just designed to be like that.
Anyway, Renji took one last look at the fortress as it drifted farther away. It would be interesting if he managed to enter that place and destroy it from the inside.
It would probably give him a huge amount of experience points, and most likely, he’d be able to surpass Kai!
But he knew better. He knew how weak he was right now and had to work harder!
Just like that, he continued with his daily life while also slowly moving towards the path that the Flying Fortress had taken.
Every machine he destroyed fed him full Experience Points. Unlike Kai’s team, he didn’t split rewards.
With 9 and 18, he fought like a squad, but the system counted them as his extensions. Their kills were his kills!
Furthermore, with stolen high-grade weapons, he could take down stronger units than most survivors dared to face. It was unfortunate that he couldn’t charge the Plasma Rifles easily, but still, he was off to a good start.
Then, with his Mechanical Expert talent, he dismantled the Mechanized Soldiers and converted scraps into usable gear. Every raid gave him more than just experience... it gave him resources for him and his two androids!
This was why Renji had climbed from Level 16 to Level 20 in such a short time.
He wasn’t farming mutants. He was dismantling the A.I. Army itself!
Still, as soon as he reached Level 20, he obtained incredible rewards!
[ New Feature Activated: World Chat ]
[ Description: Survivors who reach Level 20 gain access to the World Chat system. Communicate across shelters and territories. ] 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
[ Limit: 3 messages per day. ]
[ Warning: Messages are visible to all Level 20 Survivors worldwide. Use wisely. ]
Renji blinked as the system notification appeared before his eyes.
"A world chat! This is awesome! Now, we can share information..."
Without hesitation, he opened the World Chat Feature!
The first thing he noticed was the latest message.
[ System: Renji has entered the chat. ]
"Ohhh... It’s welcoming me..." Renji muttered with a laugh. "This is so cool!"
Then, a faint glow spread across his vision, and a mystical keyboard materialized in front of him. He hesitated for a moment, then tapped out his first message.
[ Renji: I’m from Haven‑32. It’s already destroyed, and I’m just wandering around. Are we in the same area? ]
The words vanished into the ether, instantly broadcast to every Level 20 survivor worldwide.
Scrolling upward, Renji saw the earlier conversations.
As expected, Kai and Claire had already been chatting.
Their exchanges weren’t particularly meaningful...
To Renji, it was nonsense. But it gave him a hint of the situation.
It told him something important... Kai and Claire were close. Maybe even together.
[ Claire: Ugh, I’m starving. If only the Gene Trader sold snacks. ]
[ Kai: Snacks? You’d waste experience points on chips? ]
[ Claire: Better than wasting them on those traps you bought. ]
[ Kai: My traps are beautiful. Don’t insult them. ]
They were just using two messages per day... Well, they were only allowed for three chats per day, so they were probably saving one for important matters while using the other two, since they would just reset anyway.
Further down, just above his notification that he entered the chat, another name caught his attention... Mei.
She had only just entered the chat, and her first message was blunt...
[ Mei: Kai... can you tell me your full name? ]
