Global Awakening: Infinite Gift Pack System-Chapter 149: Bound
Kai still had spare Survivor Medals with him, thanks to the other Foreign Survivors within New Haven-45. They would pay him a Survivor Medal in exchange for bullets, food, and other items that he could offer, and he was quite generous about it.
After all, everyone knew the value of a single Survivor Medal.
Because of that, he could immediately create a Guild. However, he was a bit skeptical about whether he should do it now or wait for a bit. After all, there might be some other important things he could do with his Medals.
But then, he realized something...
’Wait... I can’t waste the chance of getting a reward for having created the first Guild. I’m sure there’s a reward to that.’ Kai thought as he had pretty much read how the system works already.
He then opened his inventory as he finally checked the number of Experience Potions that he had.
He had been collecting them all this time and barely using them for occasions like this. He knew from experience that reaching milestone levels, Level 10, Level 20, and now Level 30, required far more experience points than ordinary levels.
Back then, breaking through to Level 11 and Level 21 had been far more difficult than climbing from 11 to 12 or 21 to 22. The system always made the first step past a milestone the hardest.
That was why he had saved these potions.
He knew Level 30 would demand an enormous amount of experience to push him toward the next stage.
"So I have ten of these already... Nice."
[ Item: Instant Experience Potion x10 ]
[ Description: Grants 5,500 Experience Points upon consumption. ]
[ Quantity: 10 ]
Kai pulled them out, hoping he wouldn’t need to use them all at once.
Each vial was small, holding no more than ten milliliters of deep blue liquid.
Without hesitation, Kai uncorked the first vial and drank.
The liquid burned down his throat, leaving a cold aftertaste.
[ +5,500 Experience Points ]
He didn’t stop. One after another, he consumed them, ignoring the bitterness.
The system notifications stacked rapidly in front of him, each one confirming another surge of points.
By the ninth potion, Kai paused with a frown...
"That’s 49,500 experience points already..." he muttered.
He shook his head. A single D‑Grade Sentinel gave 410 points. That meant he had just gained the equivalent of killing 120 Sentinels in minutes. The sheer efficiency of these potions was staggering, but it also reminded him how impossible leveling would be without Atom or his raids.
If he just relied on killing Sentinels, it would take too long. However, if he relied on his precious Gene Enhancement Serums, it would be such a huge waste!
After all, everyone knew that Gene Enhancement Serums provided improvement in his physique, small amounts of Experience Points, with extra Health and Spirit Points.
However, after consuming a certain amount of them, his Physique would no longer improve. Then, his Health and Spirit Points would also stop increasing.
Of course, he would still gain a little amount of Experience Points, but that would be too wasteful since all its other effects would be useless. If he had to consume the Gene Enhancement Serums, it had to happen after breaking through his Physical Limits where he could accept more Gene Enhancements.
He then raised the last vial, hesitated for a moment, and then drank it down.
[ +5,500 Experience Points ]
This time, the system didn’t simply add the points. The next notification made him feel really excited!
[ Experience Limit Reached! ]
Kai’s eyes widened as he saw this.
"So I reached the cap... I might have wasted five thousand points just now."
Well, he probably wasted 5,000 Experience Points, as the limit might’ve been 50,000, but it didn’t matter now.
The system message expanded, revealing the details of his next step.
[ Breakthrough Requirement: To advance beyond Level 30, the Survivor must complete a special quest. ]
[ Quest: Strengthen your foundation.
Possess at least 5 Gene Skills upgraded to Level 5.
Absorb 10 B‑Grade Energy Cores.
Bind 3 Gene Weapons to your body. ]
[ Reward: Unlock Physique Evolution. Gain access to advanced stat growth and new Gene Skill compatibility. ]
[ Survivor will remain capped at Level 30 until the requirement is fulfilled. ]
Kai was stunned as he saw the requirements he must fulfill.
Five Gene Skills reaching Level 5 was possible for him. After all, his mastery increased quickly thanks to his title. That part would only take time.
But absorbing ten B‑Grade Energy Cores? That was far more difficult. Those cores were rare, and where the heck would he even get one? C-Grade Energy Cores from Tyrants were already hard to get.
As for the Gene Weapons... he already had three of them, but none were bound to his body yet. He just kept them in his inventory. After all, he was still hesitating whether he should bind Low-Grade Gene Weapons or wait for a higher grade.
With Althea and Sera’s prior knowledge about Gene Weapons, he knew that these weapons were bound to the user.
You couldn’t just throw them away if you no longer needed them.
With this in mind, Kai obviously decided to be careful on this matter.
Kai could only sigh as he looked around the filthy surroundings.
Soon, he noticed the automated garbage truck still dumping trash into the pit.
"Ohhh... You’re still here, huh."
His eyes lit up. He hadn’t destroyed it earlier, and now he moved quickly to inspect it.
With no Sentinels left guarding the vehicle, he was free to do whatever he wanted... and of course, he robbed it.
He pried open its compartments and discovered several spare energy cells, the kind used by D‑Grade Sentinels.
They weren’t true Energy Cores, since these were manufactured by Aria rather than the A.I. Civilization. Still, they were valuable.
For Kai’s shelter, this was a treasure trove. With these cells, they could power appliances, lights, and even reinforce some defensive systems.
Victor really wanted to add those electric fences... Anyway, it would be useful with the right people.
Then, rather than dismantling the vehicle, Kai let it continue its route and followed it with Atom, keeping a careful distance.
"Now... let’s see where your base is," he muttered, as the truck moved deeper into unknown territory.
