Bang! Bang! Bang!

It was gunfire! The distinct controlled burst of rifles.

Claire frowned in confusion.

Their shelter had plenty of revolvers, but rifles were scarce.

Unlike the revolvers supplied by Kai through his Talent, the rifles they possessed had been stolen directly from mechanized soldiers.

Ammunition for them was even rarer. After all, high‑caliber rounds were difficult to replace.

That meant one thing... if the defenders were using rifles, the threat outside wasn’t just Hounds or Sentinels. It had to be something stronger, something dangerous enough to justify spending their limited rifle ammunition.

She suddenly felt nervous as she tossed the perfume aside. She then snatched up her own rifle and sprinted toward the command post.

The corridors were already becoming chaotic...

Survivors were shouting, boots pounding against the floor, weapons being readied as everyone scrambled to defensive positions.

’Good... Ralph and Farrah are taking control...’

Claire thought as she quickly moved.

She realized that the attack this time wasn’t a routine skirmish. The shelter was facing a serious assault.

Since Kai and Atom, the strongest fighters of the shelter, weren’t back yet, they had to protect this place!

Claire burst out of the main building to immediately assess the situation.

The battle was already raging on the shelter’s simple wall... It was a crude barrier reinforced by scavenged steel and stone that was now under assault by the enemies!

Her eyes widened.

Ten Dragoons circled above the wall defenders!

These flying vehicles were moving through the sky with unnerving agility that made them difficult to target with their guns!

Each one carried a Sentinel rider, and as they swooped closer, the riders dropped to the ground!

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Just like that, ten Sentinels landed on the earth below, while the Dragoons remained overhead, unleashing streams of gunfire from their mounted weapons!

Claire felt a little nervous... This wasn’t a simple raid after being scouted, it was a coordinated strike!

Thankfully, Farrah and Alfie were already on duty.

With a sudden burst of strength, he leapt unnaturally high, soaring toward a Dragoon that had dipped too low!

His hands clamped around the machine’s head, and with vicious force, he crushed it, sending sparks and destroyed metal raining down.

"Die for me!" Alfie shouted as he landed on the ground.

Just like that, the Dragoon also spiraled out of control, crashing into the ground with its merged pilot!

Claire immediately guessed that Farrah obtained a barrier-like Gene Skill while Alfie obtained some kind of Leaping skill!

After all, that jump was more than five meters!

No ordinary Survivors could do that. It could only be done with Gene Skill or perhaps a special item that could help them do so.

Meanwhile, Wallace and his team of Wall Defenders kept the Sentinels pinned.

Their rifles and revolvers fired in unison, suppressing the humanoid machines before they could advance.

Wallace himself moved with incredible speed. He was moving across the ramparts faster than Claire had ever seen.

’His Swift Stride Skill must have reached a new level... perhaps even evolved into something greater.’

He was practically like a blur, repositioning between firing points and keeping the defenders coordinated.

Claire finally realized why Kai adamantly set Wallace as the leader of the Wall Defenders. He’d certainly be capable of protecting them from invasion!

Still, the mechanized army was not stopping until their cores were destroyed.

Claire’s gaze shifted to Ralph, leader of Assault Team B.

Before she could even gather her team, Ralph was already on the battlefield with his team!

He raised his weapon and fired. With his Sharpshooter Talent, every shot struck accurately, disarming Sentinels one by one, knocking rifles and blades from their hands before they could retaliate.

His bullets may not be enough to target their cores within their bodies, but targeting their weapons was different!

With this sudden help, the defenders’ pressure was gone.

"Whoa! They’re disarmed!"

"They dropped their weapons?! Is it Ralph?"

"Awesome! Kill them!"

But at this time, the remaining Dragoons above continued to strafe the wall...

"I just need to get closer!" Claire yelled, hinting at something she had prepared.

Her words were heard across the wall, and the defenders felt a surge of hope.

Farrah’s energy wave pulsed again, slowing another barrage from the Dragoons.

Alfie roared as he leapt once more, this time grabbing onto a Dragoon mid‑flight. He swung himself onto the vehicle, tearing into the fused pilot with his bare hands before hurling the wreckage down onto the Sentinels below.

Boom!

The defenders cheered, but Claire knew it wasn’t over. Eight Dragoons and six Sentinels were still pressing the attack, and their firepower could not be ignored!

Many of them were already injured from gunshots!

Claire sprinted forward, moving between barricades as bullets tore into the wall around her.

As soon as she got into position, she reached into her pouch and pulled out a small, cylindrical device... one of her newly obtained items.

The EMP Grenade!

Her heart raced as she thumbed the activation switch!
