Global Composite Master: Compositing an Undead Army from the Start-Chapter 141 - 135: The Origin of Stars, Damn Rules! (This - is two in one, 5/5)_2
Currently, people from the Academy Alliance were stationed around his house, apparently to safeguard the Random Rift Dungeon.
Chen Mo and Lin Ranhai descended onto the rooftop, where a woman was leisurely sunbathing and reading a book.
"Xiao Hai, you’re back," she said without lifting her head. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
"Mm."
"I heard you asked your dad for a lot of money. What did you do with it?" Only after saying this did the woman put down her book.
She looked up to see Lin Ranhai. Behind him, a girl with delicate features and a spirited air had just landed. Instantly, she no longer bothered to ask Lin Ranhai why he needed the money.
Does she even need to ask? He obviously took the money to woo a girl, and look, he even brought her home!
"Who’s this girl?" she immediately asked Lin Ranhai.
"This is Miss Zhao. I invited her to help us clear the Random Rift Dungeon."
"Invited to clear a dungeon?" Mother Lin glanced suspiciously at Lin Ranhai.
"Hello, Auntie," Chen Mo greeted with a smile.
Seeing Mother Lin’s expression, Chen Mo recalled Sister Yiyi sometimes teasing him to find a girlfriend while still in school, when it was easier to meet girls. Otherwise, once he entered society, opportunities to connect with girls easily would be scarce, and he’d miss out on the sweet, innocent moments of youth.
Chen Mo’s sweet smile instantly won Mother Lin’s heart. "Alright," she said, laughing merrily. "Go clear the dungeon first. But after you finish, you must stay for a simple meal at home..."
"Mom, don’t be ridiculous. She’s just here to help; why would we have a meal?" Lin Ranhai was somewhat speechless.
She’s completely out of our league.
"It’s only polite to invite someone who’s helping us for a meal. How is that ridiculous?"
"I can’t be bothered to argue. I’m going to the Rift Dungeon now, or it might disappear." With that, Lin Ranhai quickly motioned for Chen Mo to follow him, and they fled the rooftop, leaving Mother Lin standing there, excited.
Once inside, Lin Ranhai said apologetically, "I’m sorry, my mom’s like that. I hope she didn’t make you uncomfortable."
"No, I understand," Chen Mo said, shaking his head with a smile.
The Lin family home was a three-story villa. The Random Rift Dungeon was located in Lin Ranhai’s room on the second floor. Following Lin Ranhai into the room, Chen Mo clearly saw a black rift, over a meter long and half a meter wide, hanging just above Lin Ranhai’s bed.
Since they didn’t know when the Random Rift Dungeon would disappear, they skipped the small talk and both reached out to touch the rift. Instantly, Chen Mo received The Heavenly Path’s Hint.
[The Heavenly Path’s Hint: You have unexpectedly encountered a Random Rift Dungeon. The following is information about this dungeon. Please review!]
As a flood of information accompanied The Heavenly Path’s Hint, Chen Mo quickly scanned the details of this Random Rift Dungeon. Entry was restricted to those at first-transition or below, meaning players from Level 1 to Level 40 (who hadn’t undergone the second-transition) could enter.
The dungeon was a world occupied by dark-type monsters. Its difficulty was high, but there were three main questlines to choose from, each corresponding to different rewards. The best reward was SSS-level. However, the warning stated a 99% failure rate and an over 90% death rate for first-transition professions choosing this path. The second-best reward was SS level. The warning indicated a 70% failure rate and a 50% death rate for first-transition professions on this path. The third path offered S-level rewards, with an approximate 20% failure rate and only a 5% death rate for first-transition professions.
Furthermore, the dungeon’s difficulty would scale with the number of participants: 110% for two people, 130% for three, 160% for four, and 200% for five. Clearly, entering with two or three people was optimal; more was inadvisable. There were also many hidden missions of varying difficulty, selectable based on one’s situation. Chen Mo didn’t have time to examine the specifics.
Following Lin Ranhai’s confirmation, Chen Mo also confirmed, and they immediately entered the dungeon.
Just three seconds after they entered, the rift outside sealed completely. This, however, wouldn’t prevent Chen Mo and Lin Ranhai from returning.
As the rift sealed, Lin Ranhai and Chen Mo simultaneously received an astonishing Heavenly Path’s Hint!
[The Heavenly Path’s Hint: Attention! Attention! Dungeon type altering! This dungeon is transforming into a Stars Dungeon! Transforming into a Stars Dungeon!!!]
As previously mentioned, regular dungeons have a small chance to transform into Stars Dungeons. Typically, however, only high-level dungeons of B-Class difficulty or higher have this chance, with a probability of 1 in 10,000. In other words, out of 10,000 dungeon runs, one would most likely encounter such a transformation only once. Of course, the transformation doesn’t always occur at the start; it can happen mid-dungeon or even towards the end. If your dungeon is chosen, you’re considered "lucky."
This 1-in-10,000 probability doesn’t apply to Random Rift Dungeons, which are entirely random. They appear randomly, have random restrictions, and random difficulty! Even their transformation into a Stars Dungeon is random. The chance of this happening is as high as 1%, but even so, it’s quite rare to trigger.
One could only say Lin Ranhai and Chen Mo were incredibly lucky.
