Global Game: Developing a Knight Clan-Chapter 39: Aggressive Strategy, Sweeping the Wilderness
Game World, Swamp Territory.
The Rock Steel Giant’s eyes grew vivid once more.
’As expected, having a team is always much better than not having one for this kind of thing.’
’This Insomnia and Rain is pretty interesting. A gesture of goodwill, huh...’
Lince controlled the Rock Steel Giant’s body, turning to look at the continuous mountain range behind the Swamp Territory, his expression quite pleased.
Insomnia and Rain’s identity could only be one of two possibilities.
But Lince didn’t care. After all, he would have to deal with this sort of thing sooner or later, so it didn’t matter which side she was on.
She hadn’t brought anything up, nor had she revealed anything outright. This, in essence, was her attitude toward him.
This happened to match Lince’s expectations, which was nice.
In Lince’s opinion, the analysis and suggestions she provided weren’t exceptional, but they were pertinent. In fact, given enough time, Lince could have figured them out himself.
But at the end of the day, he only had eight hours to play, and sometimes, there just wasn’t enough time to think everything through.
That was where the benefits of having a team became apparent.
And wasn’t this the whole reason he had shown his face in the small group chat?
The analysis and suggestions from Insomnia and Rain were actually quite simple.
Based on the Swamp Territory’s current situation, if Lince truly wanted to risk usurping the nest, then he had to make two-pronged preparations.
After all, Lince only had the superficial special effects of a ’Divine Descent’ without any real power to back it up.
If he mishandled this, he could easily face a crisis of complete collapse.
Furthermore, Inference Day was fraught with too much uncertainty. At the current stage, the Players’ strength and status were almost insufficient to exert any real influence on the grand scheme of the Game World.
Therefore, Lince needed to make more preparations for his plan to usurp the nest.
First, he should follow the established plan: lie low in the Swamp Territory for as long as possible. If lying low was no longer an option, he would then proceed with the plan to usurp the nest.
Second, before initiating this plan, Lince should expand his own fundamental power base as much as possible.
The Swamp Territory’s geographical location was indeed a war-torn land, but in Insomnia and Rain’s words, it was also a land of opportunity.
Moreover, the character Lince was playing was a Demon Beast.
Therefore, Insomnia and Rain suggested that Lince should have his character gather the Entry Tier Magical Beasts of the Wilderness as quickly as possible.
This "gathering," of course, meant that Lince should secretly and continuously defeat the Entry Tier Magical Beast Lords of various territories, forcing them to submit to him.
After that, Lince wouldn’t need to do much else.
He would just need to have these subjugated Demon Beasts defend their own territories.
This way, when the time came to truly activate the plan to usurp the nest, Lince would have a certain degree of confidence.
However, regarding the plan to usurp the nest, Insomnia and Rain advised Lince to delay it for as long as possible.
He shouldn’t launch this plan rashly. After all, while the plan seemed feasible, it was important to remember that ’True Gods’ definitely existed in this world. Regardless of why they couldn’t currently appear in the mortal realm, if Lince were to act on his plan of usurpation, such ’blasphemy’ could very well trigger an uncontrollable chain reaction.
Therefore, for the current stage, Lince’s main focus should be on enhancing his own strength and that of the Swamp Territory!
Insomnia and Rain even suggested that next time Lince was ’offline and AFK,’ he should no longer choose a conservative strategy for his character.
This was no longer suitable for Lince’s current situation, especially since the Truth Church’s Missionaries would soon be stationed in the Swamp Territory.
And given the situation in the Wilderness surrounding the Swamp Territory, Lince’s Tier Three strength made it entirely possible for him to gather a large number of Demon Beast followers.
So, for his next move, Insomnia and Rain suggested that Lince could continuously apply psychological suggestions to his character. The goal was to have it subjugate all surrounding Demon Beasts that could be subjugated, on the condition that it did not enter the Demon Beast Mountain Range or get discovered by the Human Race.
Those that couldn’t be subjugated could simply be killed. Afterward, he could let his other subservient Demon Beasts expand their territory, secretly bringing those areas completely into the Swamp Territory’s sphere of influence under Lince.
After all, the minds of Demon Beasts were not as complex as those of humans. They admired the strong, and could become completely loyal even without the powerful restriction of a Blood Covenant.
Moreover, Lince’s character was a Demon Beast itself, which would make it even easier to earn the loyalty of other Demon Beasts.
At the same time, Insomnia and Rain also offered a suggestion regarding the family governing the Swamp Territory under Lince’s command.
Specifically, it was now necessary for Lince to cultivate a group of loyal believers, or ’Death Warriors’.
On this point, Lince could leave the task entirely to York.
He could have him select a group of adolescent children from among the slaves to be trained!
He didn’t even have to limit the selection to the Human Race.
In this world, the Human Race often clashed with surrounding Alien Races in the form of land reclamation, so it wasn’t uncommon for Alien Race slaves to be circulating on the black market.
If possible, he could pay a premium to purchase some Alien Races who possessed martial skills but had lost hope for the future to serve as Death Warriors.
Beastmen, members of the Sea Race, Elves—anything would do.
After all, Lince’s own character wasn’t human. This could be considered well-rounded development and might even be more beneficial for Lince’s ’divine trickster’ playstyle.
The suggestions were excellent, and Lince adopted them.
So, with the bit of time he had left, Lince immediately decided to start on what he could do right now.
The Rock Steel Giant was currently Tier Four, and at the very peak of it.
Subjugating the Low Tier Magical Beasts at the foot of the Demon Beast Mountain Range and around the Wilderness would be incredibly easy.
In fact, given the Rock Steel Giant’s powerful Bloodline as a Giant Dragon, Lince felt he would have a high chance of winning even against an ordinary Tier Five Demon Beast.
Therefore, Lince was highly confident that even if he overstepped a little and entered the outskirts of the Demon Beast Mountain Range to subjugate some Middle Tier Magical Beasts, he could still retreat unscathed.
Thus, Middle Tier Magical Beasts would be Lince’s primary target this time.
It was better for him to personally control his character for a risky task like this, rather than letting the Rock Steel Giant handle it on AFK with its already limited intelligence.
Besides, this was a perfect opportunity to see just how much of a deterrent, or even how much of a power suppression, a Giant Dragon had over ordinary Demon Beasts of the same tier.
Therefore, before logging off this time, Lince planned to directly fill his currently empty Blood Covenant slot with a Middle Tier Demon Beast—specifically, a Tier Four or Tier Five one.
As for the little rat and the Forest Wolf he had previously made a covenant with, Lince had no intention of abandoning them.
After all, since Lince was planning to adopt an aggressive playstyle while offline this time, he could use the opportunity of clearing out disobedient Demon Beasts to also gather Magic Crystals and even Demon Cores to cultivate the growth of the little rat and the Forest Wolf, regardless of the cost.
And so, with a plan in mind, Lince began to control the massive body of the Rock Steel Giant, speeding toward the Demon Beast Mountain Range. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Currently, the Rock Steel Giant’s wings were not yet mature; the Giant Dragon itself was still in a juvenile state, so it could only manage to maintain low-altitude flight.
It wasn’t as comfortable as riding the Gale Flying Leopard, but it was sufficient. (The Gale Flying Leopard is on cooldown.)
The Giant Dragon skimmed through the low sky, its invisible Dragon Might radiating outward. Wherever it passed, almost all the Desert Demon Beasts fled in a panicked stampede.
