Global Game: I Can Choose Instance Rewards-Chapter 466 - 332: Three Passageways
After communicating with the giant dragon, Wang Zhifan stepped onto the boulder and soared into the sky. In the blink of an eye, his figure had left the sea of magma, heading towards the distant shore.
The moment he arrived at the shore, a phantom light gate appeared out of thin air, symbolizing that he had passed this level.
"This fourth level was too easy."
Wang Zhifan sighed and then dived into the light gate, leaving only the sea of magma behind him, where a giant lizard’s head that had been watching him suddenly relaxed noticeably.
"He’s finally gone... I haven’t seen such a powerful human for at least a thousand years. Have humans ushered in an era of emerging strong individuals again?"
The dragon pondered to itself, but soon decided not to dwell on such troubling thoughts and quickly submerged its head into the surrounding rolling magma.
On the other side, having crossed the light gate on the shore, Wang Zhifan had arrived in a new space.
This space was slightly dimly lit and seemed to be a fairly large cave. In the middle of the cave, there was a campfire burning quietly. Around the campfire, six humans with varied appearances and formidable auras were sitting.
Beyond the six humans, who might have been resting, three passage entrances stood side by side on the cave’s stone wall further ahead. The flickering flames of the campfire cast light onto their edges, yet the interiors appeared increasingly dark and profound.
"Is this level about one against six?"
After observing the entire environment, Wang Zhifan switched the Time Blade in his hand for the Thunder Dragon Fury, as he hadn’t used this weapon in a while and it was suitable for one-versus-many situations.
However, as he approached the six individuals around the campfire with the blade in hand, he discovered that they didn’t seem particularly hostile.
Apart from a middle-aged armored man directly facing him who looked up to observe him, the other five only turned to glance at him before showing no further reaction.
"Hey! Friend! We’re adventurers like you! You must be tired after coming all this way, right? Come and take a rest!"
The middle-aged armored man, facing him, stood up and greeted him warmly as Wang Zhifan walked closer.
"Thank you! But I don’t think I need to rest yet."
Despite the seemingly friendly attitude, Wang Zhifan did not lower his guard. He responded loudly while observing the reactions of the other five.
However, the five by the fire seemed genuinely disinterested in his arrival; some looked at him again, while others simply closed their eyes in front of the campfire to relax.
Under the fire’s illumination, one could see that each of them carried some injuries; some had pale faces, while others had bandages wrapped around their chests.
"Oh... that’s a pity, my friend. If you don’t want to sit and chat, I can only wish you good luck on your journey."
The standing middle-aged armored man smiled and replied after Wang Zhifan declined to rest by the campfire.
From his eyes and expression, Wang Zhifan could tell he was scrutinizing him, but seemed quite puzzled about his identity, with a hint of confusion flashing in his eyes.
"Thank you for your blessing, friend."
Wang Zhifan responded courteously and then walked past the campfire they surrounded, with the Thunder Dragon Fury unsheathed at his side.
In the process, only the standing middle-aged armored man watched him, while the other five still showed little concern about his approach.
"Are they really letting me pass? Even if they’re not enemies arranged by the tower, wouldn’t adventurers gang up against the few?"
Having walked up to the three passage entrances on the cave wall ahead, Wang Zhifan hadn’t sensed any movement from the six humans behind him. This peacefulness surprised him, as it didn’t match his perception of adventurer groups.
Since they didn’t provoke him, he wouldn’t trouble them either. Although each seemed well-equipped, they held no appeal to him, so he turned his attention to the three lined-up rocky passage entrances ahead.
Above the leftmost passage, a simplified image of a human head was carved into the rock, not like a skull, but a dignified and majestic head.
Above the middle passage, two crossed swords were etched, vaguely exuding a menacing aura.
The right one depicted a long-handled scythe with lines possibly representing flames.
"What do these mean..."
Sweeping his gaze over the symbols above the three passages, Wang Zhifan frowned within seconds. He knew there was meaning behind them, but couldn’t fathom their implications without any viable guesses.
"Maybe I should send a clone to investigate first?"
After a moment’s thought, he decided to be patient and see what tricks this level had up its sleeve before making his next decision.
But before he could take action, a figure approached him from behind, making him turn around to face them.
The visitor was the middle-aged armored man who had exchanged courteous words with him earlier. With the same enthusiastic smile, the man first spoke to Wang Zhifan:
"Young friend, I noticed you’ve been examining these symbols for a while. Is it your first time on this level?"
Upon hearing this, Wang Zhifan turned around immediately, not hiding his lack of information.
"Yes, could you please tell me what they represent?"
He asked directly.
The middle-aged armored man’s smile widened, his eyes reflecting a ’just as expected’ look, and he proceeded to explain:
