Global Game: I Have Portable Store-Chapter 419 - 5: Two Worlds
"Two lattes, one with extra sugar, and one without sugar."
Next to the concert, the two of them found a café and sat in a private room.
Zhou An took a big sip of coffee and said, "I’ve discovered the greatest perk of being an Extraordinary is eating without boundaries, no matter what, the body can metabolize it."
Su Changxing couldn’t help but retort, "That’s quite a perk indeed."
Zhou An’s face darkened, and he looked up to ask, "And Zhu Wenwu?"
Su Changxing licked his lips and said calmly, "I wasn’t able to bring him out."
"Is that so."
Zhou An took a deep breath, gave a wry smile, and said, "But he’s probably not considered dead yet, according to the game, it’s more like a rollback."
Su Changxing didn’t respond to that. It was too soon to determine if he was truly dead. Changing the subject, he said, "How were things before we left, did Zhu Xin Xue survive?"
At the mention of this, Zhou An’s expression immediately turned heavy, and he said:
"A lot of people died, including Extraordinary ones. We were attacked by a blood monster... and later surrounded by Security Bureau personnel. We got separated during the attack, but were in contact later, Zhu Xin Xue should have survived till the end."
By the time he reached those last few words, his voice was almost inaudible.
"Surrounded by the Security Bureau?"
Su Changxing’s eyes twitched. This was something he hadn’t anticipated at all. "And Zhong Jueqing?"
Zhou An was silent for a moment, then said:
"I don’t know. He probably died too. It was chaos back then, but we weren’t to be trifled with. We successfully launched a counterattack, killed quite a few of them, and then they gave up on surrounding us."
Su Changxing’s expression turned grave and he said, "I went to look for Huang Biao earlier and found he seems to have gone missing."
"Gone missing?"
Zhou An’s eyes widened, and he banged the table with his palm, cursing, "Damn it, it must be them."
"Pow~"
The table cracked with a loud noise as a result of the hit.
A waitress came running over with a menu in her arms, stared in shock at the scene in front of her, and said, "Sir, this..."
Zhou An froze, awkwardly looked at the waitress, and with a laugh said, "How much, I’ll pay for it."
The waitress was at a loss and even thought it was their table’s quality issue, saying, "Ah, I need to ask my boss."
Not long after.
A portly, bald man in sandals walked over slowly, squinting at the cracked table, his eyelids twitching.
He was well aware of the table’s quality, it certainly shouldn’t crack like this.
The bald man retreated a couple of steps without showing any emotion, squinted, and said slowly, "Buddy, you’ve got skills, are you in the business?"
"..."
Zhou An had no idea what he was talking about, blinked, and said, "Not really, I apologize for the damage, just tell me how much to pay."
The bald man laughed and said, "It’s just a table, I’ll have someone replace it right away. Let’s be friends, I’m Wu Qianqi, my ancestors ran a martial arts school, but unfortunately, my generation isn’t up to it, so we make a living with small businesses."
"Martial arts school?"
Zhou An understood what the man meant and said with a peculiar expression, "But I’m not into martial arts, there might be a misunderstanding."
Wu Qianqi laughed it off, not minding at all, "Are you going to continue with your coffee? There’s a seat available nearby."
Zhou An looked at Su Changxing, shook his head, and said, "Thanks, Boss Wu, but we need to catch the concert, so we’ll be off."
Wu Qianqi’s smile widened, "Alright then, go ahead and drop by when you have time."
After Su Changxing and Zhou An left, the waitress cautiously asked, "Boss, aren’t you letting them pay?"
Wu Qianqi glanced at her, stroked his chin, and said, "It depends on the person. With a table like this, even if you swung a big hammer at it, you might not crack it... My great-grandfather probably wasn’t this strong."
······
The two walked out, and Su Changxing asked, "Are you familiar with Yi Yaqi? You’re not from our school, right?"
Zhou An shrugged and said, "Our families have been friends for generations. She and I have known each other since childhood, so we’re practically siblings."
As they entered, the concert had already begun, the cheers in the venue were like rolling thunder, drowning out any nearby conversation.
Su Changxing looked around, frowning, sensing something was off. The atmosphere felt strange, reminding him of a ritual.
"Where did you guys go?"
Yi Yaqi saw them and loudly asked.
Zhou An gave a lazy yawn and said, "Why are you asking so much, just sit and watch the concert."
Su Changxing noticed Huang Keying sitting beside Yi Yaqi, apparently they were on good terms, laughing and chatting.
He remembered she was stabbed to death at the border of the No-Man’s Land at that time.
Mo Xi’Er’s style was indeed commendable, her singing skills were on point, the imperfections in her voice adding more charm to her songs.
As the concert reached its halfway point, the atmosphere hit a peak, with many people exhibiting an ecstatic expression, completely ignoring the external environment.
The singing abruptly stopped.
Mo Xi’Er stared blankly at the sky, the audience below also bewildered as to why everything suddenly halted.
Holding the microphone, she sweetly said, "The sky’s gone dark, there seems to be a lighthouse above."
It was an inexplicable remark.
As others raised their heads to look, they too showed expressions of shock.
An inverted black world appeared before them: a pitch-black steel city, dense and oppressive, with a giant lighthouse illuminating its surroundings.
Silhouettes moved within it, seeming to observe them.
"What is that?"
"A world?"
"Why has something like this appeared in the sky?"
······
The clamor of discussions arose nearby, as many realized the danger and fled toward the exit, only to find the same sight awaiting them outside.
It appeared as though two different worlds had collided.
Su Changxing frowned, sensing something was wrong, and said, "Zhou An, let’s get out of here."
Meanwhile, his phone was vibrating non-stop.
Zhou An immediately grabbed Yi Yaqi, following Su Changxing toward the exit.
Yi Yaqi, somewhat bewildered, asked, "Where are we going?"
Zhou An, somewhat speechless, replied, "With things like this, are you seriously going to just sit here and keep watching the concert?"
Su Changxing checked his phone, which was now connected to the network and filled with messages.
