Global Islands: I'm The Sea God's Heir!-Chapter 46: Ch : Third Trial
The third Trial of the Tower was completely different from the other two. It was simulation of sorts.
Aegis found himself in the middle of the ocean, holding a Golden Trident in his hand.
He touched his face, only to find that a beard had grown.
His height had increased, his build had become muscular, and he felt immeasurable power coursing through him.
He felt the power to shatter mountains with a flick of his fingers.
But just then—
"Your Eminence, the army is ready. We need to move to the Abyssal Domain before the gate closes!"
Hearing the urgent voice, he turned back, only to see a mature-looking mermaid holding a golden scepter in her hand.
"Naida!" he blurted out instinctively.
The mermaid looked puzzled.
"What did you say, your Eminence?" she asked, confused.
<Trial Initiated, Heir. Your Objective: Lead the Destroyer Corp to the Abyssal World and retrieve the Abyssal Trident.>
<Your reward will be the Trident you retrieve—if you’re successful.>
Aegis instantly understood everything. This whole setup was just a trial.
"HAIL TO THE SEA GOD!"
"LONG LIVE AQUARIAN DOMAIN!"
"VICTORY! VICTORY! VICTORY!"
Behind Aegis, roared thousands, no, millions of sea creatures, looking fanatically excited for the upcoming battle.
All of them were terrifyingly powerful, from sea crabs, nine-headed hydras, to titanic krakens. All kinds of mythical sea creatures were participating in this battle.
Before them, at the deepest trench, lay the gate to the Abyssal Domain.
Aquarian Domain and Abyssal Domain had been at odds with each other ever since the first light of creation.
And now, Aegis was put in charge of leading these millions to conquer it.
Instead of panicking, Aegis smiled.
"Whoever you are, I’m ready for the trial. But after this ends, you must provide me the answers I need. If not, I’m going to tear this whole Tower down."
<Ha ha, no problem. It’s that time anyway.>
Aegis tightened his grip on the Golden Trident. As he felt the hum of the weapon vibrating against his palm, he turned to face the vast undulating ocean of soldiers.
At that moment, his presence alone silenced the waves.
The millions of creatures also quieted down
Aegis stepped forward to face them without fear.
"Soldiers of the Aquarian Domain! Look at yourselves!" he roared domineeringly. "You are the masters of the blue, the titans of the depths. Yet for eons, you have lived in the shadow of the Abyss, fearing the darkness that lurks behind that gate." 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
He raised the Golden Trident high, its light reflecting in the eyes of krakens and hydras alike.
"But today, we will stop fearing. Today, we will become the nightmare! I do not ask for your restraint. I do not ask for your mercy. Whoever stands on the other side of that gate is an obstacle to our destiny. Kill them! Kill until every ounce of darkness spills from their their bodies! Kill until their world forgets what darkness feels like!"
The sea creatures’ blood began to boil, giving birth to a primal, bloodthirsty madness.
"This victory is not just for glory," Aegis continued, "It is for your Freedom! It is for your Power! It is so that your kin may never again look at the trench with dread. We are going to claim the Abyssal Trident, and with it, we will attain everlasting Safety for our domain! FOLLOW ME INTO THE DARK!"
"ROARRRR!"
"SSSSSSS!"
"Sead God Is Mighty! Victory Is Ours!"
Alongside the primal roars and growls, the "Victory" chants were in every mouth, every oceanic eyes.
Aegis led the charge.
He plunged himself into the swirling, obsidian vortex of the Abyssal Gate, and the Destroyer Corp followed behind like a relentless, multi-headed tide of destruction.
The transition was instantaneous.
The pressure changed, the temperature plummeted to a bone-chilling frost, and the very essence of the water felt oily and decaying.
They had arrived.
But all around them were just darkness.
The Abyssal Domain was a graveyard of light. For eons, no sun had touched these waters. It was a world of oppressive sensory deprivation.
But then, Aegis raised his hand.
The Golden Trident in his hand shone. It didn’t just shine; it detonated with a holy, solar brilliance that hadn’t existed in this realm since the dawn of time. The light pierced through the murky filth, revealing the true horror of the Abyssal Domain:
The Landscape was like a place from dark era. Jagged mountains and obsidian pillers rose like rotted teeth from the sea floor, covered in pale parasitic growths.
The Enemies were millions of distorted, bioluminescent abominations.
They are a kind of creature with too many eyes and translucent skin. They paused in the water as if frozen like ghosts caught in a suddwn spotlight.
The light revealed a sky of black water filled with the floating bones of ancient leviathans.
The "Hell" of the Abyss was no longer a myth. It was visible, it was wretched, and it was right in front of them.
Aegis pointed the shining tip of his trident toward the distant, shadowy silhouette of a fortress carved into a trench wall.
"There...Begin the massacre." Aegis commanded, his silhouette a burning sun against the darkness.
"ROARRR!"
"SKREEEE!"
The fight between the Aquarian Domain and the Abyssal Domain began.
At first, it started with small skirmishes. But soon, true abominations appeared, turning the battlefield into world-breaking chaos.
Mountains shattered. Dark waters froze, evaporated, and were replaced by the black blood of abominations and the colorful blood of oceanic creatures.
Ancient, Titan-class Krakens swung their massive tentacles, devouring hundreds of abominations every second.
Leviathans, in their World Serpent forms, tore apart the very structures of the Abyssal Domain.
But the abominations were endless, like a tide that knew no limits.
They devoured ocean creatures with their incredibly sharp teeth and exhaled contaminating breaths that rotted flesh and corroded souls alike.
The battle had only just begun.
It would not be over anytime soon.
This was also a test of Aegis’ leadership and courage.
He might possess a godly body, but the opposing side wielded godly power as well.
The Abyssal Lord.
And he was no joke.
