Global Islands: I'm The Sea God's Heir!-Chapter 56: Ch : Another Global Event [Bonus - (100 PS)]
Global Announcement:
[ A New Global Event Has Been Initiated... ]
[ Dimensional Gates have been dropped at numerous locations. Follow the Gates and join the Primordial Battlefield. ]
[ Warning: Adventurers and Skylords will be spawned randomly, with a lower chance of survival. All participants are advised to choose wisely. ]
"Choose wisely?" Aegis murmured the words in irony, almost as if mocking them.
He understood the nature of such choices far too well. When desire was ruled by desperation and ambition dangled within reach, wisdom became little more than an illusion. Those who craved power and coveted high tier resources would step forward without pause, convinced it was their own decision.
It was no different from placing flesh before starving dogs and asking them to deliberate on hunger. Instinct would always masquerade as choice.
The Global Chatbox shared the same sentiment.
Global Chatbox:
[Firestarter]: "Another one? I thought the last one nearly wiped out half of us! But... I desperately need those resources. Time to roll the dice again."
[xX_GamerDad_Xx]: "This time, I’m not going in unless I have a full squad. Survival chances are too low on my own."
[ThreeBeautifulPrincesses]: "Hmmm... I can already see how Aegis is going to wipe the floor with anyone who gets in his way. Bet he’ll be a top-ranker in there."
[FallenPaladin]: "Does anyone know what kind of threats we will be facing? And for how long?"
[PervertedGod]: "We practically know nothing, guys. I’m not going."
[Holy_Emperor]: "Hahaha! I’m always ready for these kinds of events. If anyone dares challenge me in the Battlefield, they’ll regret it."
[Curious_Loli]: "Does anyone know the requirements to enter? Or is it just random? I’ll take the risk if I can make it through."
[IronCladMiner]: "I’m definitely staying out of this one unless Aegis decides to lead the charge. I’m not wasting my life on this unless I know I’ll survive."
[Firestarter]: @DesertFox; "Are you going, honourable sir?"
[PervertedGod]: @Firestarter; "Why are you calling him sir? Did you two make some kind of secret deal or something?"
[Firestarter]: "What? You guys don’t know? Our Fox was finally accepted as Aegis’ follower. And he’s really killing the game now."
[IronCladMiner]: "WHAT!!"
[ThreeBeautifulPrincesses]: "WHAT!! (2)"

[DesertFox]: "It’s true. And not to be smug, but I consider myself the luckiest person on Earth."
[IronCladMiner]: "Fuck! I’m so envious."
[ThreeBeautifulPrincesses]: "Fox, can you give us Aegis’ location, please? We sisters are willing to be his concubines."
[PervertedGod]: "I’ll be the eunuch, brother."
[DesertFox]: "Sorry, I can’t. They are national secrets. And beauties, I’m afraid his Eminence is not that type of person."
[ThreeBeautifulPrincesses]: "Ahhhh!"
[EternalWarrior]: "What a bunch of losers."
Aegis closed the chatbox and looked toward the distant island where a purple glow was emitting.
If he had to guess, one of the Gates had spawned there.
While the rest of the army paused to give their lord time, Diva flew forward with Pyro perched on her shoulder.
"Papa, if you are going, take me along as well. I promise I won’t hold you back."
Aegis refused firmly.
"No, Diva. They said everyone will spawn randomly. I know you’re strong, but your participation is unnecessary. Besides, your sisters are away. You’ll need to stay in the Palace and maintain communication with Felix."
Boink. Boink.
Just then, the fire slime bounced onto her shoulder, staring at Aegis with puppy-dog eyes.
Aegis sighed.
"Fine. You’ll accompany me, Pyro. But you will have to behave properly.."
Pyro nodded, his slimy body bobbing up and down enthusiastically.
Diva agreed reluctantly,
"Alright, Papa. I will do as you say. But you have to take care of Pyro, alright?"
Aegis nodded lightly, then flew ahead toward the floating island where the Dimensional Gate had opened.
Pyro hopped onto his shoulder, comfortably enjoying the serene surroundings.
It was already past evening when Aegis arrived in front of the Gate.
And he was not alone.
Several people equipped with various gears were already standing before the portal.
As soon as they noticed Aegis and the fire slime, they became alert.
But once they realized he carried no visible equipment, their expressions shifted into mockery. They laughed at what they perceived as the young man’s naivety.
In their eyes, Aegis was nothing more than an ignorant chicken they could crush whenever they pleased.
So they did not feel the need to raise their guards.
All six or seven pairs of eyes were fixed on the countdown timer displayed on the portal.
00:02:30
The Gate had not fully opened yet.
Aegis observed the purple energy patterns flowing along the ancient metallic frame.
He did not understand their meaning, but he understood one thing.
Dimensional Gates like this were not something anyone could create on a whim.
The power of the Conquest System felt immeasurable.
"Boy, do you want to join us in our duo?" a kind-looking middle-aged man offered, likely out of pity.
"No need," Aegis replied calmly. "And I don’t think we’ll spawn together in one place. We’ll have to survive on our own in there."
The couple’s faces fell, fear clouding their expressions.
"Husband, is he telling the truth? Then I don’t want to go in there," the woman said nervously.
"Hah, I didn’t know we had an all-seer among us," a young man scoffed from a distance. "He thinks he knows everything."
"Yeah, this mutt is just talking nonsense. The System said we’ll spawn randomly, but it never said we’d be separated."
"I think so too. I mean, we’re all standing in front of the same Gate, right? How could we possibly be split up?"
It seemed some people genuinely disliked Aegis’s explanation.
After all, they were hoping to rely on teammates to carry them.
A particularly rough, bearded man rose from his seat and stepped in front of Aegis.
The man stared directly into the young man’s blue eyes, trying to invoke fear.
But all he received in return was calmness, as deep and vast as the sea.
It felt as though the young man was not even acknowledging his presence.
Irritated, the bearded man shoved Aegis with his burly hands.
But shockingly, Aegis did not move even a centimeter.
Instead, the bearded man stumbled backward.
Shock flashed across his face.
Fear seeped into his bones.
He was not stupid enough to misunderstand what had just happened.
This young man was far stronger than him. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
"Boss, why are you showing mercy to this kid?" one of his underlings shouted. "Punch him already!"
The bearded man cursed under his breath.
He had already decided to back down, but his underling had forced him into an awkward position.
Aegis finally spoke, his voice cold and ruthless.
"I don’t argue with insects. But try not to appear in my sight once we enter the battlefield. If I see you, I will kill you."
He tapped the man’s shoulder lightly.
"Bam!"
The bearded man’s knees bent instantly as overwhelming pressure crushed down on him.
It felt as though a mountain had been placed upon his shoulders.
His underlings rushed forward to support him.
Meanwhile, Aegis walked straight toward the Gate.

Aegis stood just inches away from the shimmering purple portal.
Pyro’s marble eyes were shining.
After giving one last glance at the bewildered adventurers behind him, he stepped forward.
And somewhere far away, Bella entered as well, accompanied by her Silver Dragon.
