Global Lords: I Have Information System-Chapter 513 - 369: Dinner Party, Miss Stephen
The generosity and broad-mindedness demonstrated by Baron Bezos greatly appealed to Zong Shen.
Whatever help Zong Shen needed, Baron Bezos complied with it all.
He even proactively suggested exploring the ruins of the Lion Knight Order's garrison point together.
To Zong Shen, Baron Bezos seemed like a guardian or elder.
For the first time since his descent, he felt the sense of being under someone's protection.
After discussing all the necessary matters,
Zong Shen began recounting his experiences in the mine to Baron Bezos.
He shared how he took advantage during the clashes between the Goblin Squad and the Spider Web Monsters.
He omitted numerous details, starting from when he killed his first Spider Web Monster Queen, to entering the mine three times to eliminate the Spider Web Monster Lord and drive away the entire Spider Web Monster Race.
He chose to gloss over these situations, not wanting to reveal that the Spider Web Monster Swarm had already left the mine, to prevent Baron Bezos from regaining interest in it.
Besides his adventures in the mine, Zong Shen also spoke about his time entering the Demon Hunter's temple in the Northern Forest, the experiences he had in the dungeon, including the feats of them slaying the Mutated Ghoul, the Blood-Burning Demon Skull, and Sewn Monster Pato.
These adventure-laden stories made sparks of excitement burst forth in Baron Bezos's eyes.
Just as he listened intently, the door to the reception room was knocked upon once more.
This time it was another butler, who carried himself with equal composure.
"My lord, the dinner is ready,"
"Madam has already retired."
"Miss Stephen is not yet resting, and is waiting in the banquet hall on the second floor."
Bezos nodded, stood up, and addressed everyone.
"Let's head to the banquet hall on the second floor."
"I'm sorry to have kept you waiting."
It was already past 1 a.m. by this time.
Zong Shen usually slept at this hour.
Yet now they were heading off to dinner.
The thought of it left Zong Shen feeling somewhat peculiar.
Everyone rose and followed Bezos out of the reception room.
A staircase entrance was located not far from the reception room.
The main building of the castle was equipped with four staircases leading to the upper floors.
The structure was so vast that it necessitated multiple staircases.
Living in such a castle truly meant waking up each day on an 800 square meter bed.
Even a trip to the restroom could take several minutes.
The stairs were also lined with warm-toned carpets.
Elegant wall sconces adorned the walls on either side.
The second floor had a more complex layout than the first.
At the top was a long corridor, with the entire floor divided into rooms of various sizes.
The corridor formed a loop with no distinctive decorations.
The walls sported soft fabric wallpaper in a consistent pattern and tone, adding to the opulent yet visually confusing atmosphere.
A newcomer, without guidance, might easily lose their way.
Whether this décor was for aesthetic or confusing purposes was uncertain.
Zong Shen suspected it was the latter.
After all, there was a difference in nature between a castle and a manor.
In peacetime, this was a luxurious residence.
During war, it served as the city's last line of defense. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
Behind this lavish design, the castle concealed hidden stratagems.
They traversed over ten sectional rooms before the butler led them into one near the castle's outer rim.
As the large door swung open, everyone felt light pouring in.
Exiting the dim and somewhat cramped corridor,
the banquet hall before them was much more spacious and well-lit.
This banquet hall was enormous, at least twice the size of the reception room.
On one side, there were four small terraces.
A long banquet table stood in the center.
On either side, against the walls, were some vacant tables.
Several groupings of tall wine racks were placed on top.
The hall was suitable for both standard banquets and buffet-style parties.
Tonight, the layout was evidently for a conventional banquet.
The long table was already set with an array of exquisite delicacies.
Each dish was placed twice, on both sides of the table.
Each seat had two plates, a high-stemmed wine glass,
cutlery, and napkins.
Graceful maids in tailored uniforms stood at each place, holding communal silverware at the ready.
Looking at the maids, Zong Shen recalled the initial recruitment by Baron Bezos's people in Sitanos.
Such a maid's monthly salary was merely 20 Mainland Continent Universal Dinar?
Something seemed off-thinking about it, yet given the castle's size, the staff should be categorized.
Those drawing a 20 Dinar salary wouldn't be these personal maids.
More likely, those were the maids responsible for tasks like gardening, cleaning, and laundry.
Watching the maids, Zong Shen reached a conclusion in his heart.
Guided by the butler, everyone took their seats.
Baron Bezos, as the castle's master, sat at the head.
Zong Shen sat in the deputy seat to his left.
A young girl sat across from Zong Shen, while Luna and Wenresa took the seats beside him.
The remaining Immortal Gun Cavalry members also took their seats in order.
The maids placed the cutlery on napkins and began pouring wine for the guests.
The wine Baron Bezos served them was a clear yellow liquid.
