God Ash: Remnants of the fallen.-Chapter 746: Races.
"What the hell happened here?"
That was indeed a valid question.
One couldn’t help but be curious as to what spark has caused the flames of such disaster to spread.
Looking around in silent disgust at the torn body parts of various creatures mixed together with the rocks and sandy bits, all splattered into a bloody soup on the ground was nausea inducing.
The Drake stared silently at Evangeline, its terrifying eyes without a shred of humanity in them.
The Drake was huge, standing at over forty feet in height and around two hundred feet in length. Its body was also robust, covered completely in dazzling white scales. In contrast, it has pitch black spikes running down its back, down to the very end of its tail.

The {Wind Drake} sighed. Cain was curious as to how such a creature could make those sounds. If anything, he expected it to be full of growls and roars.
Surprisingly, they could hear its words clearly, down to the inflections in its speech.
"While it was not our intentions for things to end like this, it was what it has to come to. All this was instigated by some troublesome rascals that have already ascended the mountain."
The Drake paused for a moment. Then a burst of blinding radiance enveloped it, forcing everyone to close their eyes.
Cain watched through the eyes of the {Dar Soul} as the Drake’s enormous body began shrinking, until it was roughly the size of a human, perhaps a few heads taller.
Its body turned more humanoid, however, it still kept a lot of its draconic features like its reptilian head, its white scales and black spine, and of course, its robust tail. Surprisingly, its face has become more human looking. However, it still had those cold, vertical pupils characteristic of reptiles.
The Drake flexed its muscles,
"Much better."
Then it turned to the Griffin and Giantess,
"You two... Aren’t you going to change into something more comfortable?"
Suddenly, dazzling light also enveloped both the giantess and the Griffin, forcing everyone to look away again.
Completely immune to the light, the Dark Diver watched as both the Giantess and the Griffin shrank down to the same size as the Drake.
The Giantess turned into a beautiful, yet cruel-faced woman with long flowing hair and red markings on her face,
"Tch! My true form is much more comfortable than being stuck in such a small body."
Then she turned towards Evangeline, not trying to hide her disdain and bloodlust,
"Regardless of how many casualties there have been, I believe these ones should join them. I can do many things, but breathing the same air as mere humans in an affront to the Titan blood in my veins."
Cain’s eyes widened, ’Titan?’

{Giant}.

He frowned, ’Giant?’
He was quickly starting to see a pattern emerging.
Evangeline’s eyes narrowed, but she said nothing to the Giantess, then turned to the Drake,
"Instigated by who?"
The Drake, shook his head,
"That I am not sure of. I do believe certain participants made use of illusory spells to captivate a few weaker willed amongst us, urging them to do battle. As more ascended the mountain, they joined in on the growing battle, eager to seek their claims until it finally spiraled out of control. The results are what you see before you."
Evangeline turned to Cain,
"Illusory magic?"
Cain shook his head grimly, "Must be some powerful stuff if it could affect creatures of this caliber."
Susan suddenly spoke, "If it is normal illusions, then I might be able to do something about it."
Evangeline nodded then turned to the Drake, about to speak, but the Griffin spoke instead,
"Forget about it. We with noble blood in our veins are mostly immune to illusions, and even I was almost turned into a fool. Humans couldn’t possibly hope to do anything again sometime like that."
Cain’s eyes narrowed,
***
{Cynogryph}.
***
’They all have the bloodline of Celestial Beasts.’
The Drake possessed the bloodline of the Dragon, the Giantess possessed the Titan bloodline, while the {Cynogryph} had the bloodline of a Griffin.
’No wonder they look so similar, although now that I think about it, I suppose the differences are just as glaring.’
The Drake was a wingless dragon, the Cynogryph had the body of a wolf, and while the Giantess was quite huge, she was far from titanic.
While he had never seen a Griffin or a Titan before, he was very certain he had seen a Dragon once. In fact, he had one currently taking a rather long nap within his soul. This Drake couldn’t even compare to a single scale of that Dragon.
If the Titans and Griffins were creatures similar in status to the Dragon, even if a bit below, then these creatures were far less terrifying compared to the original.
The words of the {Cynogryph} hung heavy in the air, its tone filled with austere pride. Cai
"Yeah, yeah, noble blood and all that crap," The swordsman said, waving a hand dismissively. Then he grinned,
"But let’s not pretend you’re immune to being played like a fiddle. Whoever did this outsmarted all of us, corpses and living, bloodlines or not."
Curious, Cain decided to see what the swordsman was;

{Hybrid: Dark Elf/ Barbarian}.
***
This was the strangest race description he had ever seen. What he was most curious about was;
’What is a hybrid?’
{Replying to Host: A hybrid is a creature bears more than one major bloodline in its body}.
He hummed internally,
’So it has both Dark Elf and Barbarian bloodlines?’
{Replying to Host: Affirmative}.
Cain’s face scrunched up. Dark Elves were a rare race in the universe as their numbers were not that great to begin with. However, they were infamous. They lived on worlds within the mortal and godly realms, but most resided in the godly realm.
The Barbarians on the other hand were a more populous race, equally as infamous as the Dark Elves, albeit for other reasons.
Both were bad news...
To see a creature that was a mix between the two was quite the sight. He had learned all these from the [Record of Akasha I].
So far, none of those that had survived the mad slaughter were regular creatures.
The feathers of the {Cynogryph} ruffled. It had transformed into a smaller form, with a human face and two golden wings in his back with white accents. Golden sparks of lightning crackled around it. There was no doubt that a beast like this, regardless of how human it looked in the moment, was dangerous.
its eagle-like eyes narrowed,
"Know your place, disgusting hybrid."
The Dark Elf Hybrid grinned and lightly tapped the hilt of the sword sitting on his waist,
"What? There doesn’t seem to be a lot of bite behind your words. Would you care to repeat that?"
The red-skinned woman seated on the flaming beast rolled her eyes,
"I thought you said you didn’t want to fight anymore?"

{Ifrit}.

The Dark Elf Hybrid chuckled,
"I was joking, just joking..."
Cain raised a brow, ’Those two seem to be on good terms.’
The Giantess , Cynogryph and Drake also seemed to be on good terms as well, like as though they were not just on each other’s throats a few minutes ago. Cain could still identify a few deep gashes on the giantess’s body caused by the Cynogryph.
He chuckled. The way things were going z it was as though the fight would pick off from where it had left off at any moment. However, Cain knew that wouldn’t happen.
Their arrival was the catalyst that had diffused the situation.
A delicate balance, but a balance nonetheless has been achieved for now.
However, their actions right now could very well shift the scales any way.
Cain suddenly spoke,
"Right now, we should focus on locating the ones responsible for causing all of this."
The Giantess turned to stare at him. Her eyes narrowed,
"There is no we in this." Her eyes gradually lit up like smoldering embers,
"You were not a part of this battle, so you get no say in what happens next."
Evangeline folded her arms,
"Will you be the one to stop us then?"
The Giantess let out a mirth filled chuckle. Then her body disappeared...
Appearing directly above Evangeline a split second later.
"Die!"
A blow filled with the purest form of aggression and intent. If it met the ground, it would destroy it completely.
The force had to be dissipated.
In response, Evangeline merely glanced coldly at the giantess.
A swarm of shadows burst out of the ground.
The Giantess snorted, "Parlor tricks!"
Her fist continued in impeded, smashing through the shadows.
However, the next moment, the face of the giantess turned grim.
That was because by the time the blow was close to Evangeline, it had lost most of its force.
Evangeline casually raised a hand and caught her fist.
Her eyes narrowed as she spoke, her voice filled with disdain,
"Titan blood or not, it makes no difference to me."
The Giantess tried pulling her hand back, but she was completely enbraced by the shadows, unable to move.
Evangeline’s eyes widened,
"Do you still think we have no stake in this?"
The Giantess gritted her teeth,
"I’ll kill you!"
"That’s enough."
There was a deep rumble, and all the shadows wrapped around the body of the Giantess were blown away.
The Giantess lurched forward, but was stopped by the Drake,
"That’s enough, Thern."
