Chapter 709: Chapter 779: Gun, Slaying the Wolf

The monster army boasted thousands of members, but in the previous great battle, at least three to four hundred had been lost, a result achieved through the self-sacrifice of many Dragon Soul Alliance members and assassins.

And the remaining beasts, well over five hundred, indicated that more than half of the several thousands-strong monster army still remained, a force not to be taken lightly. If let loose on Moon City, it would undoubtedly cause great chaos.

Now Fang Yi alone was to confront such a multitude, a sight that truly seemed ludicrous, like an egg striking a stone, utterly overestimating one’s capabilities.

Like locusts, the monsters swarmed densely towards Fang Yi and enveloped him, swallowing him up in an instant. Dragon Soul Alliance members and assassins all widened their eyes.

"Has the Alliance Hierarch just died like this?" someone said.

"No way, I must avenge the Alliance Hierarch!"

"These monsters are insufferable!"

However, just as their blood boiled and they were about to charge forward, a whooshing sound disrupted the air.

An invisible massive force emanated from the center, like a fierce gale, blasting those beasts away. As the monsters were thrown, their heads were cleanly severed from their bodies.

A downpour of blood rained, and a gruesome feast of severed limbs began to unfold.

Fang Yi did not die; of course, he couldn’t possibly have died. Now at Heavenly Level, Fang Yi knew his own combat strength. Even against the third tier of the Heavenly Level, he could put up a fight using the Reverse Demon Technique, let alone against these monsters?

The cannon fodder monsters made up approximately two-thirds of the army, with the remaining third being elite monsters. The Werewolf was not among this group. Once Fang Yi used his True Qi to repel the enclosing monsters, he grasped his spear and began a one-sided slaughter.

Yes, one-sided!

The spear resonated with a dragon’s roar-like crisp sound, vibrating as Fang Yi thrust forward, each spearhead severing a beast’s head, decisively killing them.

This cycle continued, with no sign of exhaustion from Fang Yi. On the contrary, he grew more ferocious, as if endless strength surged within him, inexhaustible.

This was the disparity between Heavenly Level and the sixth stage of Earth Level. Leaping from Earth Level stage six to Heavenly Level was a qualitative leap, and Fang Yi’s every strike was nearly enough to take down an Earth Level six-stage Martial Artist, let alone these monsters?

With each thrust, one monster’s head fell. Fang Yi held the spear single-handedly, the spear no longer a mere weapon but like a sword, light and deft, constantly quivering in his hand. Flecks of cold light flew, each one taking a head with it.

Apart from the heads flying, limbs and pieces of flesh accompanied with blood were also thrown into the air. Despite the monsters’ large size and quantity, Fang Yi appeared as an artist crafting his work, dealing with them with ease.

Su Ling finally showed a look of shock on his enchanting, beautiful face. He could scarcely believe it, as his monster army was visibly diminishing at a rapid pace. At this rate, in a few minutes, the army would cease to exist.

Was this the power of one man? The power of someone who had just ascended to Heavenly Level?

"Damn cur, come here!" Su Ling ordered roughly.

The Werewolf immediately approached him.

"Fire the signal flare, summon Zhou Hai and Ying Juekong," Su Ling commanded coldly.

"My lord, I am sufficient here; there is no need for those two humans to intervene," the Werewolf said.

"Just you, this earth dog?" Su Ling retorted coldly: "Do as I say without question, and do not test my patience."

The Werewolf hung his head and after a moment replied, "Yes!"

It seemed Su Ling felt he hadn’t maintained his composure; he laughed, replacing his icy demeanor with a harmless one, smiling as warmly as a spring breeze.

A flare shot into the sky, bursting even in the daylight with a dazzling brilliance.

"Not good, brothers, they’re calling for reinforcements; we can’t just stand by and watch," said an assassin, wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth.

"But... didn’t the Alliance Hierarch tell us to fall back?" one foreign assassin said, puzzled.

"Under a collapsed nest, no eggs remain intact! Brothers, we cannot let the Alliance Hierarch join the battle alone, we must help him!" the man yelled, charging to the front.

In fact, most of the remaining people were injured, some even seriously, but after a moment’s hesitation, they decisively made their choice and once again rushed into the horde of monsters.

Sometimes, once the ferocity and bloodlust of humans is ignited, it becomes unstoppable, and it also turns into a kind of momentum that attaches to them, making them fierce and fearless as they charge forward.

"Kill! Kill these monsters!!" Members of the Dragon Soul Alliance roared loudly, their battle cries shaking the heavens.

"These guys..." Fang Yi couldn’t help but let out a wry smile. He had wanted these guys to take a rest while he held the line, but they had voluntarily joined the fray.

Truth be told, if Fang Yi said his heart wasn’t moved, that would be a lie.

Leading the charge, Fang Yi and the members of the Dragon Soul Alliance broke through like a dragon cleaving through thousands of troops.

Among them, Fang Yi was the strongest and killed the most. He showed no mercy, and the monsters fell like wheat before the scythe, a sight both heroic and grand.

Fang Yi’s face was smeared with blood, his expression as cold as ice. His hair danced in the wind as he wielded his spear like a Killing God, leading his people in a massive slaughter among the creatures.

The once numerous monsters eventually reached their end. Initially, Fang Yi alone could have defeated them, but now, with the members of the Dragon Soul Alliance joining in, the speed of the battle and the rate of creatures’ demise accelerated.

Finally, Fang Yi neared Su Ling and walked towards him.

Su Ling’s pupils suddenly contracted, murmuring to himself, "I underestimated him... I underestimated him..." The confidence in his beautiful eyes dissipated, replaced by a flash of fear.

"Su Ling, prepare to meet your fate!" Fang Yi shouted, his spear flying from his grasp, heading straight for Su Ling.

Roar!

A roar erupted as a massive black figure stepped in front of Su Ling, catching the spear, the Werewolf howling viciously at Fang Yi, revealing its terrifying ferocity.

"Human, if you want to kill our lord, you must get past me first," the Werewolf bellowed.

"Nothing but a mongrel," a cold spark flashed in Fang Yi’s eyes.

In the next moment, Fang Yi executed Divine Travel Steps, closing the distance in a blink, as the Werewolf also roared and charged, its sharp claws tearing through the air.

One swipe of its paw seemed to rip the atmosphere; the Werewolf’s strength was at the second level of Heavenly Level, and Fang Yi felt it in an instant.

Fang Yi’s pupils narrowed slightly before he muttered in a low voice, "Demon Technique, First Transformation!"

Fang Yi started running the seven transformations of the Demon Technique.

The Demon Technique had seven stages, and though it required burning Essence Blood and shortening lifespan, it was formidable. At its pinnacle, it could increase one’s power by seven levels.

However, there were time limits associated with it—higher the level of transformation, shorter the duration—and it was difficult to master. Fang Yi estimated that at most he could bring forth the second Transformation.

With the First Transformation of the Demon Technique activated, True Qi within Fang Yi surged violently. His fist roared out.

The fist, charged with True Qi, hissed through the air, and Fang Yi’s punch struck right at the Werewolf’s heart!

Boom!

A cloud of blood mist exploded from the Werewolf’s chest, and a bloody hole appeared.

The Werewolf howled in anguish as it fell to the ground. Fang Yi casually picked up the spear from the ground, and with a thrust, it pierced through the Werewolf’s skull like a bolt of light, silencing the entire area in an instant.
