God-Tier Fishing System-Chapter 667
No one should be able to remain so composed after enduring the previous battle.
He had not even lost a single breath.
It was absurd.
"This man’s aura is unchanged. It does not seem affected at all."
"Is he truly human?"
"A secret technique of that level would be enough to drain every drop of power from an Upper Supreme realm expert."
"No matter how monstrous Ethan is, he should not remain in such a state."
"He must be pretending."
Cedric’s expression darkened. His gaze locked onto Ethan as he carefully probed him with his senses.
"This Ethan truly seems unaffected. In a battle of this scale, he has not even suffered serious injuries."
"What should we do now?"
"Ethan’s combat strength is unfathomable. There are too many secrets hidden within him. I fear there is no opportunity for us today."
"Still, we have gained nothing."
"Even if we did not seize a perfect opportunity, the high-level combat power of the Palace of the Four Cycles has been wiped out by Ethan."
"Even if the Palace of the Four Cycles survives, it will only remain as ruins. Without thousands of years, it cannot recover."
"Valerius’s death brings only benefit to our clans, no harm."
"Although we failed to obtain the Hibiscus fruit, there is still hope of taking control of Blue-Wave City. That city is a treasure land for cultivation."
"In the past, the four clans joined forces to occupy Blue-Wave City and shut us out."
"They relied on its unique geography to grow rapidly."
"In less than a thousand years, they left our two clans far behind. That alone proves how significant Blue-Wave City is for cultivation."
"Valerius has fallen."
"More than half of the Palace of the Four Cycles has been destroyed. This news will soon spread across the northwest of the Demon Territory. When that happens, all races will gather in Blue-Wave City."
"At that time, whoever possesses the stronger fist will become the new master of Blue-Wave City and enjoy its unique cultivation advantages."
As Cedric spoke, he clenched his fist lightly.
"You are right. Even if we did not secure the Hibiscus fruit, a share of Blue-Wave City is enough."
"Now that matters appear settled, if nothing unexpected happens, I will depart first."
"I must return and prepare. When the time comes, Brother Cedric and I shall take Blue-Wave City together and divide its cultivation resources equally."
The white-bearded old man cupped his hands.
He cast a reluctant glance at Ethan in the distance. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
But Ethan’s strength intimidated them. They did not dare act rashly and could only leave unwillingly.
Just as the white-bearded old man prepared to depart, Cedric’s expression shifted abruptly.
"Gale, wait. Valerius is not dead."
Gale’s eyes sharpened instantly. He turned to the west.
Valerius’s aura had resurfaced.
The two exchanged a glance, smiles appearing simultaneously.
"What a resilient Valerius. I knew he would not fall so easily."
"I hope he can mount an effective counterattack."
"It would be best if he severely injures Ethan, giving us the chance to seize the advantage."
Gale stroked his beard, smiling.
The spectacle was not yet over.
...
Lunara and Kara stood behind Ethan.
They surveyed the battlefield and exhaled slowly.
The fight was over.
The Palace of the Four Cycles had lost Valerius, the masters of its various palaces, and nearly ninety percent of its top combat power. That was near destruction.
Most importantly, Ethan stood unharmed. As long as he was intact, everything remained intact.
Elara stepped forward and stood behind Ethan as well.
She had only just recovered from her shock.
Although she had long known of Ethan’s strength, today’s battle still astonished her.
With his power alone, he had nearly destroyed the entire Palace of the Four Cycles.
"Mr. Ethan, thank you."
"Once we finish cleaning the aftermath, please come to the Sky family to discuss matters. The lives of everyone in the Sky family were saved by you. Whatever request you make, we will agree."
Ethan merely nodded.
He did not speak.
The next instant, his brows drew together slightly. His expression turned serious.
"Haha. So you are not dead after all."
A faint sneer crossed his lips.
"Step back."
He extended his arm in warning.
The three women looked confused.
Yet they did not hesitate. They retreated at once.
Whoosh.
A streak of flame burst from beneath the soil and shattered rubble, shooting toward Ethan.
Ethan lifted his hand and casually knocked the crimson light aside.
Crash.
A figure burst from the ground and rose from the shattered ground.
It was Valerius.
His hair was disheveled. His appearance was miserable.
The golden armor he once wore was torn and broken.
Blood stained the corners of his mouth and dripped from his arms.
Valerius landed not far from Ethan, holding someone in his arms.
Ember.
She had stood at the very center of the earlier explosion.
Now her arm and half her shoulder had been blasted apart.
Her face was ashen. Blood poured from her mouth continuously.
Thick crimson liquid mixed with fragments of internal organs.
The injuries were fatal.
At the final moment, Valerius had burned his life and unleashed his ultimate trump card to drag Ember from the heart of the explosion.
Not only Ember. Eryon and others had been dragged out as well.
But the price was immense.
Blood seeped from Valerius’s seven orifices. Half his vitality had been consumed. A third of his hair had turned white.
His foundation had been severely damaged.
Even if he survived today, his body would remain crippled. Future cultivation would be nearly impossible.
Valerius waved his hand.
Dozens of clusters of light floated out.
Within them were Eryon and others.
Limbs shattered. Bodies broken. They were little more than remnants.
It was no exaggeration to call them corpses.
Only four had actually survived.
Seris. Oberon. Sorrel. Daniel.
Yet even these four teetered on the edge of death.
Seris, who had shouted for vengeance earlier, had survived only through the desperate protection of his father and others.
Half his face and shoulder had been blown away. He breathed only because of Valerius’s shielding.
He struggled to lift his head and look at Ethan.
Blood filled his vision. He could not speak even if he wished.
"Ember, it’s fine. Father will save you."
"Do not worry. You will not die."
