God-Tier Fishing System-Chapter 687
"Damn it, you are courting death!"
The guard captain roared as spiritual energy surged violently through his meridians.
Pfft.
Ryan spat a mouthful of blood straight into the man’s face.
"You want to capture me alive? Dream on!"
His eyes were bloodshot, veins bulging as his meridians trembled madly.
He was preparing to detonate the final remnant of his strength and drag several of them down with him.
The captain whose arm was locked kicked out fiercely, striking Ryan squarely in the abdomen.
A cracking sound echoed as ribs shattered inward. Ryan coughed up another mouthful of blood, yet his grip did not loosen in the slightest.
Instead, he bared his teeth in a ghastly smile filled with tragic resolve.
"Let go of me, you dog!"
The captain smashed his fist into Ryan’s face.
Two teeth flew from Ryan’s mouth. The right side of his face swelled grotesquely, purple and red like a crushed fruit.
"You..."
The captain stared at Ryan’s bloodied grin in disbelief.
This body was already on the verge of collapse. How could it still contain such strength?
A chill crept up his spine.
He shook his head forcefully.
Ryan was nothing more than an arrow at the end of its flight.
Why fear him?
"You dog. If the Chief Commander did not order you alive, I would sever your head this instant!" he cursed viciously.
At that moment, the other captains arrived.
"Old man, what is this? Struggling against a half-dead Ryan and looking this pathetic?"
A tall, thin man with a horse-like face sneered mockingly.
"Stop your nonsense and help me!" 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
"I am coming. Watch me cut off his arms!"
The horse-faced man lunged forward, short blade flashing in his hand. In a blink, he stood before Ryan.
"Ryan, stop this futile resistance. Submit obediently and you may keep your limbs. Otherwise, I will sever them all and turn you into a human pig."
His voice dripped with cold cruelty as he raised the blade to strike.
"Come!"
Ryan laughed loudly.
"If I take two of you down with me, I will not lose!"
His dantian shook violently as the spiritual energy within compressed rapidly.
The two men instantly sensed the anomaly.
Ryan’s aura grew chaotic. Spiritual fluctuations boiled like water on the verge of explosion.
He was about to self-destruct.
"He is going to self-destruct!" the horse-faced man shouted in alarm.
"No need for panic."
The captain whose arm Ryan restrained spoke calmly.
"The Chief Commander anticipated that he would choose self-destruction rather than humiliation."
"Seal."
A bronze mirror the size of a palm floated from his free hand.
It rose above Ryan’s head, spinning rapidly, casting down a curtain of white light.
The moment the light enveloped him, the violent spiritual energy within Ryan’s body settled abruptly.
His spiritual energy stagnated. His blood slowed to a near standstill.
All strength drained from him.
He collapsed limply like a puppet with cut strings.
"The Spirit Sealing Mirror... a treasure of the Moonfall Clan..."
Ryan’s gaze fell upon the mirror before his body plummeted from the air.
He crashed heavily onto a rooftop below, tiles shattering under the impact.
"How does it feel?"
The Chief Commander descended with his subordinates, landing around Ryan.
Arms folded, they looked down at him with mocking smiles.
The Chief Commander’s eyes were filled with disdain, as though observing a dying clown.
"To beg for life and fail. To seek death and be denied. That is the fate of one who offends the Moonfall Clan and Flying Snow City."
He waved his hand.
"Proceed. Sever his hands and feet. Then cripple his cultivation."
"Understood."
The horse-faced man rolled his neck and stepped forward.
Squatting down, he grabbed Ryan by the chin and slapped him violently across the face.
"Where is that arrogance now? Self-destruct. Try it again."
His voice was laced with venom.
Moments ago, Ryan’s self-destruction had genuinely frightened him.
Fortunately, the Chief Commander had been prepared.
Otherwise, this would have ended differently.
Pfft.
Ryan spat another mouthful of blood directly into the man’s face.
"You truly seek death!"
Fury exploded within the horse-faced man.
He seized Ryan’s hair and smashed his head against the roof tiles repeatedly.
Blood splattered across the snow-covered rooftop.
Ryan’s vision blurred.
Consciousness began to slip.
"Enough. Stop playing and finish it," the Chief Commander ordered coldly.
"Immediately."
A dagger appeared in the horse-faced man’s hand.
He grabbed Ryan’s arm and thrust downward.
Buzz.
A muffled vibration descended from the sky.
His movements froze midair.
He glanced around in confusion.
No additional figures were visible.
Yet the surrounding space warped subtly.
"What is happening?"
Perplexed, he attempted to move again.
His arm would not obey.
Only then did he realize that the spiritual energy within him had frozen.
Even his blood refused to circulate.
"Why can I not move?"
The Chief Commander’s expression changed instantly.
He too was immobilized.
"Who dares interfere?"
Before his words fully left his mouth, a streak of cyan light cleaved through the night sky.
In a single breath, a tall, composed figure in black robes appeared.
Ethan stepped across the void, each stride spanning dozens of feet. Space rippled beneath his feet as if unable to bear his presence.
Under the stunned gazes of all present, he descended onto the rooftop and stood beside Ryan.
The Chief Commander’s face turned grave.
Now he understood.
The immobilization. The invisible pressure.
This was suppression.
The pressure of a supreme expert.
Even the surrounding space twisted faintly under that aura.
He had never witnessed such control.
Not even the City Lord commanded such power.
"May I ask which faction Your Excellency belongs to? Why interfere in the affairs of Flying Snow City?"
The Chief Commander forced respect into his voice.
Ethan did not look at him.
He placed a single finger against the forehead of the horse-faced man.
"What are you doing?"
The man’s voice trembled.
That finger carried no warmth, yet a cold terror rose from the depths of his soul.
"We are from Flying Snow City. Your Excellency must consider the consequences before acting..."
He never finished.
His body burst apart instantly.
Blood and flesh scattered into the night like red mist.
