Greatest Streamer System-Chapter 324 - – Apprentice Cooking
Lily accepted the invitation and was looking forward to it. Max was glad that she did because he could show off his skill then.
The day passed quickly. He streamed IRL, showing off some moves that he could do using monkey bars on the roof. He placed the camera in a way so people couldn't recognize the scenery around him. The stream was pretty short because he needed to do something at night.
After ending his stream, he took a shower and went out of his apartment. He wanted to meet Chef Rush and asked him to teach him for a week. It could also become content and promote the restaurant if it went well.
Arriving at the restaurant, Max hesitated a bit. It looked so foreign, and no energetic girl was greeting him. Instead, a young man acted as a waiter and took orders from a few people. He was probably a new guy who was employed by Chef Rush to take Nina's position.
"Welcome!" The waiter greeted him excitedly. "Do you want to dine in or take away?" He asked.
"Ah, I don't need them. I am here to meet Chef Rush. Is he inside?" Max answered softly to the waiter, who didn't recognize him.
"Chef Rush? I am sorry, but he's busy–"
"Boy? Come inside."
Before the waiter finished his sentence, Chef Rush appeared from the small window connected to the dining hall, and his voice boomed.
Max looked at the chef briefly before turning to the waiter.
"Excuse me."
He walked past the confused young man and entered the kitchen with familiarity. Yes, familiar. However, once again, being here without Nina's presence felt slightly strange.
Entering the kitchen, the aroma of all spices hit his nostrils. It was too thick that he frowned slightly before locating Chef Rush, who was cooking alone in the kitchen. The large man was wearing a hat and mask for sanitary purposes.
"What do you need, boy? If you're free, move your hand and give me a little help while we talk."
It was strange and sudden, but Max didn't refuse. He immediately threw an he took from the bench on and helped Chef Rush prepare the menus.
The preparation included cutting vegetables, taking out the prepared dough from the refrigerator, and cutting it to become noodles… It was hard.
Not experienced in it, Max struggled at first. He made some mistakes and even shattered one plate because his hand slipped. Everything was rushed.
'Holy shit, this is hard.'
Probably because it was a dinner rush, many orders came after one another. There was no end to the preparation and cooking.
At some points, Chef Rush shouted loudly to make him move.
"Boy! You haven't cut the onion yet! We need it ASAP!"
"Coming!"
Sweat poured from Max's forehead as the heat from the stove got onto him. He definitely didn't expect this and wasn't prepared at all. He planned just to ask today and start tomorrow.
'Ah, fuck it! This is so hard. How can Chef Rush handle this alone? I am impressed.'
In fact, with him being here, the cooking speed has decreased. He wasn't aware of it.
The rush continued until 8 PM. Orders started to slow down, and finally, the last customer had been served.
Max could finally rest for a while and took some breaths. Chef Rush said they could talk while preparing stuff, but he was too busy to even say something.
"Good work. You helped me a little." Chef Rush said as he approached him and took off his chef's hat. "So, what do you want to talk about?" The large man took a seat next to him and stared directly into his eyes.
Max smiled wryly and explained why he was here today and about the cooking event that was held in three days. Chef Rush listened quietly and nodded at the end.
"Cooking show, huh? What is your plan about it? Making my special noodle?"
"Yes." Max quickly affirmed it. "I wanted to make Rush Noodles in that show. Also… If possible, may I help you like today while streaming about it until D-day? I believe it will increase the sa–"
"Boy." Chef Rush interrupted him with a low voice.
Looking at the serious chef, Max gulped involuntarily. The pressure was strangely suffocating.
'Is it no good?' He thought, nervously hoping that wasn't the case.
If he hadn't been allowed to stream about helping the chef, he might have had to stream late at night after helping. His body would be really tired, but there was no choice.
However, what came out of Chef Rush's mouth next wasn't a rejection.
"You don't need to ask for my permission for that. As long as you can do the job, you can stream, flip, or even sleep in the kitchen. Do what you want. I don't care about sales or anything. I am glad to see your face and get free help. That's enough for me."
The Chef stood from his chair and patted his shoulder before walking away.
"I need you in the morning tomorrow if you don't mind. Come in time."
Max turned around and shouted, "Yes, Chef."
"Good. Bring some dough and spices with you before leaving. Try to make your own noodles at home for practice. I will teach you the recipe tomorrow."
"Yes."
Chef Rush left the kitchen to rest for a while since the customer stopped coming. Max followed what he said and took some dough and spices to create his version of Rush Noodle.
'Let's see, maybe it's Mala and some mixed spices. I also need some chicken and broth. Yes, this is all. I won't take the pork char siu because that will be too much, and I don't plan to make the taste too complicated for myself. I am not confident of making them all in the cooking event.'
He didn't know how much time he had in the event, so he planned to make it simple but good.
After getting everything he needed, he left the kitchen and bid farewell to Chef Rush and Kevin, the new waiter.
When walking home, he looked at the sky and thanked the chef in his mind.
'I am eternally grateful, Chef Rush.'
Not only was he willing to help him immediately, but he also allowed him to make good content.
'I will make sure those guys know how delicious your noodles are!'
At that moment, his stomach grumbled. Max had missed dinner earlier. He hurried back to his apartment and made the Rush Noodles using the ingredients he brought from the restaurant.
Putting everything together wasn't that hard, especially after he helped Chef Rush earlier. He recreated a similar taste to the original, although he felt it still lacked something.
Still, he didn't mind. The appearance was close to the original, too. He snapped a picture of it and posted it to his Strike.
[I will apprentice as a chef tomorrow! Look forward to the livestream! This is my take on one of the menus in the restaurant.]

His followers immediately flocked to the post and liked it while leaving comments. Some said they would come to the restaurant tomorrow if he did livestream it.
'Well, it seems a busy day will wait for me.' His lips twitched upward as he rested his body on the couch. 'I have to tell Chef Rush to prepare more ingredients tomorrow. And I also need to message Peach about my participation.'
