Guide to tamming vilanesses-Chapter 52: Group date part 1
Yumemi seethed in silence, hating every second of this mess. She couldn’t wrap her head around it, her brother, effortlessly playing the awkward otaku card while somehow commanding the room like a king.
And, to make everything worse, Hinami was already throwing herself at her brother. Yumemi clenched her fists, looking with disgust at her friend.
She has always been a gold digger anyway, Yumemi thought. But she couldn’t understand why Ange was being friendly. Or why Aiko looked like she was already in love.
Could her brother really be charming? Anyway, she needed to say something to end that chaos.
"Hey, let’s switch seats after each song," she suggested with forced cheer. "That way, we can all get to know each other better."
Luckily, everyone agreed. However, the first draw forced Yumemi to sit at the right side of her brother. To his left was Daiki, a quiet boy she didn’t give a shit about.
Yuki went first, full of confidence and eager to impress. Her performance was strong enough that the chatter died down.
"Hey, where did that car come from?" Yumemi whispered to her brother.
"I bought it," Shin lied again. "Just don’t tell mom."
"You bought it, how?"
"It’s none of your business," Shin brushed off.
Then his eyes scanned the room, looking for John. But none of the men Yumemi had invited were named or relevant characters.
"Is anyone coming later?" He asked his sister.
"No..." Yumemi blinked in confusion. "It’s a group date. Five to five. Are you stupid?"
Instead of paying attention to the presentation like Yuki wanted, Shin lost himself in thought. If John wasn’t coming, it meant he wasn’t targeting Yumemi yet.
They had definitely been in contact. Shin confirmed it by checking her message history. But maybe it was still too early.
’So you did all that preparation for nothing!’ A fairy appeared in front of Shin’s eyes, a smug smile playing on her lips.
’Don’t just show up like that, idiot,’ Shin replied mentally.
’It’s fine.’ She floated around, unnoticed by everyone else. ’I can turn invisible to others. Still, I can’t believe you brought a gun for nothing.’
’Shut up.’ Shin turned his attention back to the music. ’I was just being cautious. If he’s not here, things will be even easier.’
’You can’t lie to me.’ She perched on his left shoulder, poking his cheek with her tiny feet. ’I know you were excited for the fight.’
Shin didn’t answer, completely ignoring Lilel.
’You know,’ she continued, ’you still have access to Yumemi’s phone. You could’ve checked her messages to see who was coming.’
Lilel kept trying to get his attention but eventually gave up. Still, just watching was boring. So, to Shin’s annoyance, she spent the rest of the group date floating around and practicing her flying skills.
As Yuki finished her second song, Toma applauded her effusively. Almost immediately, he pulled out his phone and started taking pictures without asking. The look on Yuki’s face made it obvious she hated it.
Seizing the moment, Shin spoke up calmly. "I’ll sing next, but let’s set a simple rule first. No pictures or videos without asking."
Toma frowned. "Why? What’s your problem, dude? Don’t be such a buzzkill. It’s just a few photos."
"Yeah," Kenji chimed in, nodding in agreement. "Pipe down, superstar. Who said anyone was actually going to waste storage space on a photo of you?
Yumemi hesitated, clearly annoyed to side with her brother, but still spoke. "It can be a big deal for some people. Not everyone’s okay with having their picture taken." She looked at Yuki.
Toma clicked his tongue, annoyed, but before he could say anything else, Yuki finally turned around to face them.
"I’m under contract with a modeling agency," she said quietly. "It’s nothing major, but it’s strict. I also want to be an idol someday. I know the chances are small, but unauthorized photos could cause problems for me."
The room went silent for a moment.
"I’m not saying you can never take pictures," Yuki added. "I just need to be asked first."
Meanwhile, Shin had already chosen an anime opening to sign. And before Toma could say he was sorry, Shin had begun singing.
Truth to be told, he was not good at it.
’Are you trying to destroy my ears?!’ Lilel quickly complained, sitting on top of his head.
’If you’re not going to help, just shut up,’ Shin retorted.
’Actually, I can help,’ she said with a proud smile. ’But only if you ask nicely.’
The small fairy hovered in the air in front of Shin’s eyes, crossing her legs arrogantly. She was loving the moment, but Yamada cut in:
"An anime song? Seriously?" he laughed. "I’ll need some alcohol to get through something that boring."
Shin blinked. "Wait. You’re over twenty?"
"Yeah. So?" Yamada replied.
Shin tilted his head, genuinely puzzled. "Then why are you on a group date with high school girls? Couldn’t you get anyone your age?"
"Tch. Whatever. If you guys want, I can get all of you alcohol, the guy on the counter with my friend." Yamada tried to look cool by bringing alcohol.
"We are minors, dude," Shin pointed out.
Kenji jumped in quickly. "Haha! You are such a prude. Don’t you want even a sip?" He smirked and leaned toward Yamada. "Bring something back for me."
Toma hesitated, then straightened his posture like he’d made up his mind, "Me too! Get me something strong."
It was obvious he didn’t usually drink, but he shot a glance at Yuki, copying Kenji’s bad-boy act, trying to impress her.
Then he turned to her. "Hey, Yuki. Want something? I’ll pay."
Yuki took a small step back. "Sorry. That wouldn’t look good for me."
That answer seemed to deflate him more than the rejection itself.
Ange spoke up softly. "I already drink a lot when my family travels to Germany, so I’m used to real beer. I’ll just have a sip of someone else’s."
Hinami immediately seized the moment, leaning closer to Yamada with a sexy smile. "If you’re going anyway, could you bring some snacks too?"
Yamada couldn’t resist her charms, and of course, he would bring her something. The other guy also wanted alcohol, and with that, Yamada was overwhelmed with so many requests.
"Can you come help me bring everything?" Yamada asked Toma, because the two of them were somewhat close.
Toma glanced back at Yuki. "You wanna come too?"
She shook her head quickly. "Actually, I liked Shin’s music. I wanted to try singing with him."
Toma felt even more rejected, and in the end, Daiki also joined them. And the trio of boys went out to get drinks and snacks for everyone.
Meanwhile, Yuki leaned closer to Shin, wanting to sing with him. And again, Lilel was offering the boy help with singing.
If Shin allowed, she could take control of his body and sing for him. The only condition was that he asked nicely and apologized for calling her useless.
’I’m sorry, you are not useless,’ Shin said telepathically. ’So, pretty please, could you help me sing better?’
’It will be my pleasure,’ Lilel finally agreed to help.
With that settled, Shin and Yuki took turns singing anime songs, quickly turning it into a duet. Ange and Aiko cheered them on, clapping and singing along. The small show only stopped when Yamada returned with drinks and snacks.
They took a break so everyone could eat.
Trying to recover his image, Toma called for a competition of who could drink more. Then he lifted his cup and downed it in one go, clearly aiming to impress Yuki.
Instead, the alcohol hit him hard and fast. His laughter grew too loud, and his sense of space became extremely annoying, especially for Yuki, who was sitting at his side.
Yuki quietly moved away, moving closer to Shin. And it was by getting closer that she noticed Hinami sneakily placing her hand on Shin’s thigh.
And she was not the only one to notice it. In a way, the competition with Hinami and her boldness also pushed the other girl to be more aggressive with flirting.
After that, Kenji and Yumemi sang a song together. Not long after, with Toma becoming unbearable, the unremarkable Daiki offered to take him home and called an Uber.
That left the group two men short, and none of the girls seemed to care in the slightest.
Yamada, on the other hand, quietly deluded himself into thinking that with less competition, his chances had improved.
But the time for Ange to be bold had come. She purposefully pressed her perky tits against Shin’s shoulder, letting them squish softly as she leaned in, reaching for one of the mics.
Then she stood up, hips swaying sensually. She selected the sexiest music she knew how to sing.
As the beat dropped, Ange began dancing, her short blonde hair flipping wildly. She rolled her body like liquid fire. Of course, it immediately attracted everyone’s attention.
Then, feeling she had teased him enough, the girl gave Shin a sexy smile, extended her hand to him, and asked if he wanted to join her.
