Harem app-Chapter 83: Four Cups of Coffee
Chapter 83: Four Cups of Coffee
Liam’s POV
"That’s my story," Lucia said as she prepared coffee.
Apparently, it was easier for her to talk about all of it while keeping her mind focused on something else.
Honestly, I didn’t know what to say. Countless questions piled up in my mind. In fact, I might have ended up with even more doubts than when I started.
What should I do? How could I help her? Angels, demons, a sister, the power she needed to obtain... There were so many things I didn’t understand that it was hard to figure out the next step.
Looking to the side, I noticed that Lila seemed lost in thought. Her gaze was intense, as if she were in another world.
I couldn’t count on her to take the lead at that moment. And the uncomfortable silence kept growing.
Lilith, on the other hand, stared at me as if she were throwing all the responsibility onto my shoulders. I could only sigh, she wasn’t exactly reliable in moments like this.
They trusted me. The responsibility was mine, and it always would be. That’s why I had to take the first step.
I crossed the room, breaking the silence. Then, I approached the redhead just as she finished serving the fourth cup of coffee.
Gently, I embraced her from behind.
"You don’t have to worry," Lucia cut me off before I could say anything.
"You don’t always have to be strong, you know?"
"Sorry, but I don’t show weakness to my enemies. That’s my philosophy."
She slipped from my arms and turned to face me. There was an indecipherable smile on her lips, her gaze remaining mysterious, giving no hint of what she was truly thinking.
"But I’m not your enemy," I stepped closer, gently taking her hand, trying to convey a comforting warmth.
"You have kind hands," she said with a charming smile.
For a moment, I thought she had given in, but I couldn’t have been more wrong.
"But so did my mother."
I sighed at those words, they carried a deep sadness... A person who has been betrayed once thinks twice before trusting again. And a person who was betrayed by the one they trusted and loved the most?
I moved closer to her and softly captured her lips.
She tried to pull away at first, but fent resistance soon faded, as she melted in my arms, surrendering to a passionate kiss.
"You’re such a horny dog, boy," she smirked, a mischievous glint in her eyes.
In response, I simply ruffled her hair gently, "I’ll save your sister," I declared with confidence, even though I had no idea how.
"Oh, really? How?" Lucia smirked teasingly. Of course, she saw right through my false confidence.
"Actually..." Fortunately, Lila intervened at that moment to save me. "I know someone who has the power of divine healing. She can remove the sword, and I think she can also help you get a half-demon license."
I exhaled in relief, knowing that Lila had a plan. It was nice to have at least one problem solved so easily and conveniently.
Later, I would have to ask Lila more about all of this. I needed to understand more about angels and the supernatural forces that governed this world.
That said, the last few times I had tried to ask, she had avoided the question. Apparently, it was knowledge she wasn’t allowed to share.
For now, I let Lila and Lucia discuss the next steps between themselves. Since I knew nothing about the subject, I would only get in the way.
"Okay, now tell me, where have you been all day?" I approached Lilith.
I thought about scolding her again for being so irresponsible, but I gave up, knowing it would be pointless.
"Well, actually, I was talking to Harper. I set up a meeting between you and her for later." She puffed out her chest, twirled in the air, and proudly started recounting everything she had done.
That little troublemaker had returned to the scene of the crime, risking getting caught. On top of that, she had shown the video to my ex-professor.
Knowing that woman, she was probably devastated to learn the truth about her husband. And, of course, Lilith wanted me to take advantage of that to win her over.
Naturally, I had no intention of doing that. I had no reason to destroy their marriage.
That said, knowing that man had cheated on his wife and was involved in all of this infuriated me. Maybe I really should just steal her from him.
At the very least, I was going to advise her to get a divorce. But I still wasn’t sure how to proceed. Besides, it wasn’t as if I could win her over just because I wanted to.
"Master, you’re worrying about useless things," Lilith pointed at me. "I’m sure she’s already in a little box for you. The only thing stopping her from melting in love is her extreme loyalty. But she just needs a little push to give in."
That little brat was overly confident, as always.
"Why are you so insistent on adding Harper to the harem?"
"Isn’t it obvious?" She looked at me like I was an idiot.
In response, I tried to guess the reason. Her husband being involved in the scandal with the girls did make him useful. Maybe I could use Harper to get closer to him and obtain the master key.
That said, if that were the case, I would definitely refuse the plan. I didn’t want to use someone as pure as my ex-professor for that.
Another possibility was that Lilith already knew how unhappy her marriage was and wanted me to save her from it.
However, Lilith quickly denied both of those reasons and stared at me like I was truly stupid. There was no way it was that obvious.... I really had no idea.
"Okay, just tell me already," I gave up guessing.
Lilith then stood up and gestured dramatically as she explained her point, "Since ancient times, humans have known one undeniable truth: relationships between teachers and students are incredibly hot!" She declared proudly.
"What?"
"The taboo, the dynamic of an older person with a younger one, even more when the teacher is such a sexy milf... Everything about it is hot!"
She started drooling like a pervert as she raved about how seducing my teacher would make for an insanely sexy story.
I really shouldn’t have expected any other answer from her. So I gave up talking to her and simply delivered a karate chop to the top of her head.
Turning to more serious matters, I approached Lila and Lucia. I wanted to know what they had decided.
Lila quickly explained that their plan was to visit Lucia’s sister to assess her condition. But from what the redhead had said, it was likely the woman only had a few months left to live.
Because of that, the two of them would probably leave immediately to meet with Lila’s master. She also explained a few more details, but with so many unfamiliar terms, it was impossible for me to fully grasp anything.
"Thank you very much," Lucia said with a genuine bow.
For a brief moment, she allowed hundreds of emotions to flicker in her gaze. However, she quickly composed herself again.
Even so, I gently embraced her and once more claimed her lips. After our passionate kiss, I pulled back slightly, still feeling her warmth lingering on me. Then I remembered something...
"One more thing. Now that we’re done with secrets, can you tell me why you wanted me to seduce that security guard?"
I was referring to Zoe, which made Lucia pause in thought for a few moments.
"There were a few reasons. I think you’ve already noticed the main one. She works for Karen and her mother, as both a personal trainer and security. She also has a little bit of angel blood, but it’s not really relevant..."
What she said made a lot of sense. That’s why Zoe had been accompanying Karen at the party. And with that, I had no more pressing questions for her. At least, nothing I urgently needed to know.
Once again, I drew closer to Lucia, pulling her into an even deeper, more passionate kiss. However, Lila quickly stepped between us.
"Sorry, master, but I have to stop you here."
The girl quickly explained that entering the world of angels required several prerequisites, one of them being purity.
Basically, for both of them to enter, they would need to abstain from any sexual activity for three months.
"That’s not going to work," Lilith chimed in, joining the conversation.
She argued that there was no way the two of them would be able to maintain their ’chastity visa, with me around.
The two thought deeply about it and, in the end, agreed with the tiny troublemaker. And just like that, the moment unexpectedly turned into a small farewell.
Lucia also had other requirements to fulfill, and both agreed it would be easier to prepare everything in a calmer place. Since the redhead owned a house in the countryside, it was the perfect location.
As they left, I noticed the sun rising once more. That’s when it hit me: I had lost another entire night. I could only let out a deep sigh.
Lilith, ever playful, reminded me of the four cups of coffee Lucia had prepared, none of which had been touched.
At least I had something to keep me awake.
Not long after downing all that caffeine, I headed to the bakery where Lilith had arranged my meeting with my former teacher.
I waited alone for a while, having arrived well before the scheduled time. But my wait turned out to be much shorter than expected, as she also arrived early.
The moment I saw her, I stood up. Harper’s eyes were still teary, it was clear she had been crying until just recently.
I stepped closer and embraced her as lovingly as I could, then asked, "What happened?"
