Harem of the Demon: Gathering Beauties in a Magic World-Chapter 76. Possibilities
Chapter 76: 76. Possibilities
Putting together the pieces of information that Mister Kim had given him was not a difficult thing for Aaron to do. He put two and two together and was able to hazard a guess on what was likely to play out in the future to come.
There were many of these events to be considered. However, there was one that topped his list, one that he had come to accept was the most likely occurrence to take place and that was the event where he runs into an angel in this life.
He didn’t have any issues with that at first, but when he deemed that he might still be inadequate at that time, it became a bother. Aaron hoped to not be found wanting when that time came.
If the angels were in this world, it meant that they already knew of his existence in this world as well. And if they knew that he also existed in this world, that meant one of two things: either they have found him already or they are making plans towards it and searching for him. And if they did, they were definitely going to swat him like a fly now that he was still weaker than his original self.
Aaron sighed as he considered all these things. From his experiences in dealing with the angels, he was certain that these beings would have already started making their moves.
As he contemplated the events that were in no way, at all, favourable to him, Aaron also considered possible events that might just turn out to be in his favour amid all the troubles that were likely going to occur. One of the most likely that he considered was where his old allies had also found their way into this world and were looking for him judiciously as well.
On his way back, Aaron had brought five bags along with him and out of these five bags, he released four to the crew for their consumption while keeping a bag for himself. From the bag that he reserved for himself, Aaron took out a large piece of meat and began to tear through seared and seasoned flesh, wholly enjoying every bite of it.
A smile appeared on his face, as he helped himself with the food, from the thought of the possibility that his old comrades might be in this world as well, and are looking for him.
KNOCK. KNOCK.
With the interruption of the knocks, Aaron paused his eating and raised his eyes toward the door of the room. He put the remainder of the meat and with his foot, he shifted the bag to the side, about to go and answer the door.
But before he could even stand from the bed, the door opened and a tall, female figure entered the room. It was Souzane.
She walked in and shut the door behind her and then a period of awkward silence took over and lingered between the two of them as they stared at each other.
The silence continued until Souzane finally opened her mouth to speak, seeing that Aaron was not willing to indulge her.
"Hey, pretty face!" she exclaimed.
Aaron turned and looked behind him, making sure that he was the only other person in the room besides Souzane because he didn’t quite understand why she was yelling and trying to bring the roof door.
He bent his head in a way that said, ’Yes, what is it?’, before reaching for the remainder of his meat that was inside of the bag.
"Please, get ready," Souzane said, "You’ll be joining us to go pay the Elder a visit."
Aaron chuckled inaudibly, hearing Souzane being courteous in her speech. He cleaned his hands with a cloth nearby and looked Souzane in the eyes.
He noticed the air of scepticism that surrounded the bandit leader, almost as if she was being forced to make the request of him.
"Why are we paying her a visit?" he asked. "I thought you two hated each other."
Souzane looked another way and sighed. "Yes. It’s true that I hate the old hag’s guts but I can’t find my product without her help and for that, I will need her cooperation, if she is willing to give it to us."
"That witch is still one of the most influential persons in this place and no matter the fact that I won’t give her the satisfaction of hearing such praises from my mouth but it will be much more beneficial to have her on our side than against us."
Souzane walked towards the bed and sat down beside Aaron. "And that’s why I’ve come to ask for your help in getting her on our side. Luckily, she is a fan of pretty faces and yours is one that I’m sure she has already locked on too."
Aaron laughed. "You’re asking that I sleep with her." freeωebnovēl.c૦m
Souzane shook her head. "Not exactly. Unless you want to."
Aaron tossed the last of the meat into his mouth and chewed on it satisfactorily.
"What happens when she refuses to join us?" he asked. "I’m sure for someone with such a high status here, it would be as easy as going into her home and asking for her help and getting a yes for an answer. Have you considered the possibility of her backstabbing you and taking all of the opium for herself?"
Aaron wiped his lips and continued, "I mean, why would she stick to the meagre percentage that you would offer her when she could get the entire thing?"
As Souzane listened, her eyes opened up to the many scenarios that Aaron’s analysis offered. Truly, meeting someone like Elder Lin to ask for help met that she had to put her best foot forward. Yet, she had not found out what her best foot was and that was the reason why she had come to Aaron in the first place. Tazane, her elder brother, was the only person she knew who understood the Elder and how to work around her issues. He knew how to get her to agree on things that even they thought would be quite impossible to get her to agree on.
Tazane knew her weakness and exploited it for the good of their crew. And Aaron reminded her of Tazane in many ways.
They were both handsome, confident men who knew their way with words and were not afraid of putting anybody in their place. They weren’t easily carried away and maintained sharp focus.
Aaron rose up and stared down at her. "Nevertheless, I will go with you. After all, we had an agreement and you are yet to have me question your loyalty to the agreement we have. But before we leave, you will have to tell me everything you know and have noticed about Elder Lin, just something that I can work with."
A few hours passed since Souzane’s little discussion with Aaron about their next way forward. And as the sun peaked in the sun and the middle of day reached, Souzane’s crew members could be seen loading up their carts with their share of the fabrics that they had entered the village with, under the guise of coming to supply them.
"Are we ready?" Souzane asked, stepping outside of the inn that they lodged and adjusted her cloth around the waist.
Souzane, as usual, went for a simple tomboyish look with a shirt, a pair of trousers and a pair of brown boots.
She got on the cart and looked Aaron’s way, giving him a slight nod that was a signal for them to proceed with their plan.
"Hyah!" she yelled, her whip cracking in the air.
The horses tied to the cart neighed and pushed forward as they made their way towards Elder Lin’s place.

In the heat of the sun and clear sky, a messenger bird that had been sent forth from Herb village soared high. Approaching the territory of its destination, it began to descend.
This region was somewhere in the Crimson Melon town that was half a day’s journey away from the Crimson Star Palace.
It appeared to be a border that led into the region that was designated for the chieftain, King Elda and was guarded by a group of six female warriors who took shifts in pairs.
One of the females standing for afternoon watch looked toward the sky while covering her eyes with her hand.
"What’s that?" she remarked, pointing to the sky and drawing her partner’s attention to it.
"I don’t know. Maybe a message from one of the villages," the second guard replied.
The bird descended and took the small missive attached to one of its legs before sending it flying back to where it came from.
"Who is it from? From where?" the first guard asked excitedly.
"Take a chill pill, Claudia. I know you’re hyped because it’s your first day, but chill," the second, more experienced guard cautioned her.
Claudia’s face took on a sad countenance and she apologised. "Sorry, Jenna."
Jenna heaved a sigh as she unfurled the message.
"Green Patrol?" she muttered.
