Harry Potter and the Secret Treasures-Chapter 1288: New Term
Given that the chances to return to the past without changing time were limited, Evan had to be more cautious. freeweɓnøvel~com
Fortunately, information on Ravenclaw’s life could be found in historical records.
Going to the library and flipping through some materials would confirm the exact date she had been at Hogwarts.
Evan thought to himself that after getting ready, he would go back to meet this witch famous for her intelligence and wit.
He’d retrieve the key to the secret treasure she held and, at the same time, let her know about his current situation…
When he returned to the common room, only Harry, Ron, Hermione and Elaine were there.
They were sitting in an inconspicuous corner, whispering.
It was clear that Harry was still thinking about what he’d overheard Malfoy saying on the Hogwarts Express, and hoped for some support for his theory.
As soon as he returned to the common room, he lost no time in telling Hermione and Elaine about it.
Upon hearing this information, Ron’s reaction was that Malfoy was obviously showing off for Parkinson. He felt that Malfoy said that deliberately out of vanity, which proved that he didn’t have anything significant going on, and the suspicious actions he had taken during the summer in Knockturn Alley were not as sophisticated as they had imagined.
He changed his initial opinion and felt there was no need to pay Malfoy any more attention.
Hermione was a little hesitant. She was not sure whether Malfoy was deliberately bluffing to make himself seem more important than he was, but she also felt that it was too much to make up such a lie. A normal person would definitely not say such a thing. Using Voldemort as a topic of bragging, Malfoy’s audacity would truly be beyond her imagination.
Elaine, on the other hand, advocated taking action against Malfoy because she thought it would be fun…
When Evan returned, everyone’s attention shifted to him, waiting for his opinion.
This kind of discussion had been going on many times since they came back from Diagon Alley. What would be the result of continuing the discussion? Evan’s opinion was that since Harry felt that Malfoy was suspicious, he should keep an eye on him, but not act alone like he did on the train and do something dangerous.
They could not provoke the situation to develop in an uncontrollable direction, nor could they let Harry and the others do nothing.
Paying attention to Malfoy was the only thing they could do right now, and it would also allow them to keep track of how things were going.
Then he ended the topic and asked them to go back to bed as they had to get up early for class the next morning.
Before returning to his bedroom, Evan asked Hermione to help him collect information about Ravenclaw…
……………………………………………………………………………………………….
The next morning, Evan woke up early.
Starting today, he’d be attending N.E.W.T. classes with the sixth year students.
However, in terms of school age, he was still one year younger than Harry, Hermione and the others.
This meant that, if he had the chance, he could use this year to apply for an international exchange program and study at another Wizarding school.
Dumbledore had also promised this matter, and all that remained was to choose a school and go through the necessary procedures.
If Voldemort could be defeated sooner, he would be able to set off on his journey earlier.
Hoping that Voldemort would end his sinful life as soon as possible, Evan got up, changed into his school robes, and chatted with Colin.
When they went out, Hermione was already sitting in the common room with a thick stack of documents in front of her.
“Good morning, Hermione. What’s all this?”
“Good morning! I couldn’t sleep — I guess I was a bit too excited, thinking about choosing classes,” she said. “So, I went to the library to gather some information and borrowed a few books on Ravenclaw.”
This was more than just a few books. For most people, this thick stack of documents would take months to get through.
However, this was Hermione’s style. She regarded reading as a pastime.
She’d probably finish all this material within a week or so.
Evan picked up a book on Ravenclaw’s magic and sat next to Hermione to read. Colin and the other students went to the Great Hall, but he and Hermione had agreed to wait for Elaine to join them for breakfast, as planned the night before.
Evan was not in a hurry. He read the book leisurely, but soon this place became unsuitable for reading.
More and more students were waking up, and as they passed by, they curiously looked at Evan and Hermione on the sofa, whispering behind their hands.
This situation became even worse when Harry came out of the bedroom.
“It’s rude to point!” Ron snapped at a particularly minuscule first-year boy.
The boy, who had been muttering something about Harry behind his hand to his friend, promptly turned scarlet and toppled down the stairs in alarm. Ron sniggered.
“Haha!” He yawned and glanced at the books in front of Hermione. “That’s how you handle these new students. I wasn’t so rude when I was in my first year. Honestly, I love being a sixth year. And we’re going to be getting free time this year. Whole periods when we can just sit up here and relax.”
“We’re going to need that time for studying, Ron!” said Hermione, putting down her book. “N.E.W.T. classes are much harder than the previous ones. I’m not even sure I’ll be able to manage.”
“How many classes are you planning to take this year? I—”
“Hold it!” said Hermione suddenly, and she quickly stood up to stop a fourth-year student, who was attempting to push past her with a lime-green disk clutched tightly in his hand.
“Fanged Frisbees are banned, hand it over,” Hermione told him sternly.
The scowling boy handed over the snarling Frisbee, ducked under Hermione’s arm, and took off after his friends.
Ron waited for him to vanish, then tugged the Frisbee from Hermione’s grip.
“Excellent, I’ve always wanted one of these.”
Hermione’s remonstration was drowned by a loud giggle as Lavender Brown walked out of the dormitory.
She had apparently found Ron’s remark highly amusing or perhaps was excited to play with the Fanged Frisbee alongside him.
Hand in hand, the two of them headed to breakfast, taking the confiscated Fanged Frisbee, and leaving the other three looking at each other in surprise.
Harry hesitated for a moment and did not follow, but stayed with Evan and Hermione.
Well, that was just Ron being Ron — it suited his personality…
Another person with a distinct personality was Elaine, who still hadn’t come out of the dormitory.
In the end, Hermione had to go back to the dorm and practically drag her out of bed.
“Vampires are nocturnal creatures, and I’m not suited to daytime activities,” she said, still half asleep.
When she saw Evan, she wanted to fall on him.
“That’s a bat you’re talking about…” Evan hurriedly supported her.
Twenty minutes later, they walked into the Great Hall, where Ron and Colin had already saved seats for them.
The ceiling of the Great Hall was serenely blue and streaked with frail, wispy clouds, just like the squares of sky visible through the high mullioned windows.
The weather was pleasant, but the atmosphere soon grew a bit awkward.
They noticed Hagrid, seated at the staff table, waving at them enthusiastically.
Hagrid rarely came to the Great Hall for meals except on special occasions. His presence indicated he was in a particularly good mood, likely because of the new term’s classes and the magical creatures he’d prepared. Technically, this was his first year teaching N.E.W.T.-level classes.
