HDXD: Omni Harem System-Chapter 263: A Troubled Vampire
1 month ago
Monster Village of Minerva.
Cycle of Day
Within the confines of Minerva Village, the sound of heels threading upon the stone path hummed and echoed as a figure slowly walk around the roads, massing many settlements, and inhumane creature, most where halfbreeds, mixed, and few pure breeds where station here.
The place was a sprawling maze of jagged spires and luminescent flora that pulsed under the eternal twilight eternal red most of The Monster World during it's cycle of day.
Priscilla strode through its winding paths, her petite frame cutting through the misty air with a purpose that belied her delicate appearance.
Her blonde drill ponytails bounced with each step, her red eyes sharp and defiant, to the other here, she always look grumpy, but today, she was more grumpy than usual. As she was scanning the surroundings as she took a walk. A rare sight indeed, as Priscilla should be asleep at this hour, but wasn't at all.
At four-foot-eleven, she looked more like a porcelain doll than one of the most feared existence within the Monster World, but the villagers knew better than to cross her.
Her tsundere nature was as legendary as her combat prowess, a volatile mix of pride and barely concealed vulnerability that could ignite at the slightest provocation.
But as she walked more and more, at random random, or rather on instinct, as she found herself at the edge of a familiar park area, where bioluminescent vines draped over twisted, dark purple benches, and glowing orbs that floated lazily above a small clearing.
The sight stopped her in her tracks, her scowl softening for a fleeting moment. Memories flooded her mind, unbidden and relentless, like a tide she couldn't hold back.
"Come on big sis, or we will loose, try to catch them and have some fun will yeah."
Adam, as a child, his messy black hair falling into his eyes as he chased fireflies in this very park, his laughter echoing through the night.
Then another memory flash before her eyes, a she sat on the bench and stare into nothing, her mind lost in thought.
The sight of Adam, in his teenage years sparring with her under the same glowing orbs, his wooden sword clashing against hers as she barked insults to hide her pride in his progress.
"Cole on brat, I am, not even that good with the sword."
"BULLSHIT, I DONT WANT HEAR THAT FROM A WOMAN WHO WAS LITERALLY TRAINED BY KING AUTHOR HIMSELF."
"Kakak... Well try harder, and defend against me!"
She shouted one hand behind her back, as knocked Adam sword out his hand, drop kicked dim, throwing off his balance, as wooden sword stop at his neck.
"And like that your dead."
More years, past he was seventeen the, as another memory of Adam flash before her eyes, as his gaze became sharper, his movements precise, standing tall as he mastered the Monster Energy she had taught him to wield, although it's refined state was thanks to mostly Minerva and White.
"Lance of Typhon."
He said, as he fired a Lance of highly compress Monster Energy from the park, high up into the sky, passing the clouds. And a massive explosion went off shaking the ground below, as giant fire ball came into sight.
"Hahaha.... I finally did it Priscilla."
Adam said with the outmost joy.
The memory then ended, as she found herself sitting for quite sometime.
Her lips twitched, as it curve into a smile, but she caught herself, crossing her arms with a huff.
"Tch, stupid brat."
She muttered under her breath, her cheeks flushing faintly.
"Always getting in my way, making a mess of everything."
Priscilla said as she got up preparing to leave the park, as she kicked a pebble, sending it skittering across the path.
"Miss him? As if."
She likes to believe that it was infuriating to think that mere human who had wormed his way into her life, that her heart gave a traitorous lurch, but she shoved it down, stomping forward with renewed determination.
"He is probably causing trouble in the human world anyway... So less stress for me, and more stress for them."
A week later, in the backyard of the family estate, Priscilla stood amidst a field of battered training dummies, their straw-stuffed forms scarred and charred from her relentless practice.
The air was thick with the scent of ash and sulfur, the ground scorched in uneven patches. She extended her arms outward, her mind giving birth to detail patterns in the air as she coded the spirit language into her circle, her magic coalescing into a white circle that hovered before her palms.
The circle pulsed, then erupted into flames, the heat warping the air as she cast Flame Arrow. A blazing projectile shot forth, striking a dummy dead center.
The impact was deafening, the dummy exploding into a shower of splinters and embers, leaving only a smoking crater in its wake.
Priscilla's chest heaved, her red eyes glinting with satisfaction. But as she lowered her arms, her gaze drifted to the side, and there he was again, Adam, or at least the ghost of him, burned into her memory. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
"Ok just pictures the form, compressed the energy like a mini star, increase the heat, add pre vectors movement to ensure the attack lands dead center... And last but not least make sure to add the right attributes from the heat elemental spirit's."
"Heat Magic: Fire Arrow: Enhanced."
She saw him as he had been years ago, standing in this same backyard, his own magic circle blazing brighter, hotter, his Flame Arrow dwarfing hers as it tore through half a dozen dummies in a single, devastating burst.
BOOOOOOM!!!
His grin was cocky and infuriating, as it flashed in her mind, and she could almost hear his teasing voice:
"Come on, Pris, you gotta put more heart into it!"
Her fists clenched, nails digging into her palms.
"Show-off."
She growled, her voice dripping with disdain, though her eyes betrayed a flicker of longing. She turned away from the memory, her ponytails swinging sharply.
"I don't need him here to prove that I am better. I am always better."
But the words felt hollow, and the ache in her chest grew heavier, like a stone she couldn't dislodge.
She fired another Flame Arrow, her mood a little sour, instantly the passive dream barrier of Minerva covered the house, a sit sense incoming danger.
Her flame arrow erupted outwards, a massive spear of heat, a missile of annihilation, and when release all sixteen dummies, was reduce to nothing leaving behind not even aches as massive crater, and burning clearing Pafora forest could be seen.
The shockwaves destroy everything around the landing sight, as multiple mountains afar was destroyed, alongside hundreds of Superficial across the different types.
She was pissed, her mood rising again. Adam's absence was a void she refused to acknowledge, yet it lingered, gnawing at her resolve.
A couple of days later, Priscilla lay in her coffin.
The velvet-lined interior a cocoon of darkness that usually brought her peace. Tonight, though, sleep was a battlefield of dreams, her mind pulling her into a realm she couldn't escape.
Or rather she agreed to meet someone here.
As such, she found herself in a familiar snake Pool, a vast, shimmering expanse of water under a starry sky, the moon casting it's glow across its surface.
The water was warm, and filled with white snakes, coiling around her naked form as she floated, her petite body was barely disturbing the surface.
And across from her, Echidna lounged, her serpentine lower half gliding effortlessly through the water, her blue skin glistening under the moonlight.
Her four arms rested casually against the pool's edge, as she eye down Priscilla from afar.
Echidna's eyes, sharp and knowing, fixed on Priscilla, a faint smile manifesting on her lips.
"You know, Priscilla."
She began to speak, her voice smooth, and loving. Like a big sister advising her little sister.
"For the past couple of months, especially this month alone, you've seemed… distressed. Distant. I deareth say sad, even."
Priscilla's cheeks flushed, her arms crossing over her chest as she sank deeper into the water, her scowl deepening.
"Tch, don't be ridiculous, Echidna."
She snapped, her tone sharp and defensive.
"I am perfectly fine. I don't need you poking into my business, acting like I am some pathetic little girl who needs coddling. I am Shinso for crying out loud. I don't get sad."
Her words were fierce, but her voice wavered, betraying the lie she refused to admit.
Echidna's smile widened, undeterred.
With a flick of her serpentine tail, she slithered through the water, closing the distance between them in an instant.
Before Priscilla could protest, Echidna's four arms wrapped around her, lifting her effortlessly from the water like a child.
At three meters tall, Echidna towered over Priscilla's four-foot-eleven frame, her embrace both gentle and inescapable.
Her blue skin glowed faintly, the starry sky reflecting in her golden eyes as she leaned closer, her voice a teasing murmur.
"Oh, Priscilla, you're just so cute when you're not being honest with yourself."
Priscilla squirmed, her face burning with indignation.
"U-Unhand me, you overgrown snake!"
She sputtered, her voice cracking as she tried to wriggle free.
"I don"t need your pity or your hugs or whatever this is!"
But Echidna's grip only tightened, her warmth seeping into Priscilla's skin, and then she whispered, her breath hot against Priscilla's ear.
"You are the mature of all of us... get you can act so childish at time's. Tell me child, is this about Adam moving to the human world for school?"
Priscilla froze, her heart stuttering.
"Of course not!"
She snapped, but her words were laced with hesitation, a tremor of sadness she couldn't hide well.
But she persisted anyways.
"Why would I miss that brat? He is just a reckless, annoying human who thinks he is all that. I am glad he is gone, okay? Good riddance!"
Her voice cracked on the last word, and she bit her lip, hating how fragile she sounded.
Echidna chuckled, her four arms tightening briefly before loosening, her gaze softening.
"For someone over thirty seven thousand years old, you're still such a child sometimes."
She said, her tone gentle but firm.
"Priscilla, you need to be honest with yourself. You love him, don't you?"
Priscilla opened her mouth to protest, but Echidna's power, subtle, insidious, and ancient, slipped into her mind, unraveling the walls she had built around her heart.
The words spilled out before she could stop them, raw and unfiltered, as Echidna force Priscilla to be honest with herself, and release her true feelings for she was keeping bottle up.
"Yes, I… I am afraid I love him."
She whispered, her voice trembling with a vulnerability she despised.
"I love him so much it hurts. I loved once before, someone like me, as you know, but it went sour. I swore I would never let anyone in again. I hate men, I hate women, I hate everyone...humans especially. But Adam… ever since Rakasha found him in that stable with the Horrian Horses, ever since we raised him, trained him like a brother… he has got my heart in a way no else ever has, and now it is aching so bad. I want to see him. I miss him so much. Sometimes I wish I could just be honest, but this stupid child form, it messes with my emotions, makes it so hard to admit anything."
Her voice broke, and she buried her face in Echidna's shoulder, her small frame trembling.
"There, there child, you can be as honest as you want with me."
Echidna's smile softened, her four hands stroking Priscilla's hair gently.
"You're too hard on yourself, little one."
She murmured with motherly affection.
"You need to loosen up. Adam is coming home for the winter in a month and a half. Why not visit him in the human world? Spend some time with him. And when you're ready, slowly, you don't need to rush, go ahead and confess your love for him. Seal the deal. He is strong enough now to handle you, maybe even help you grow into your teen or fault form, and do the deed, and make another little one to officially start your life together."
She winked, her tone teasing but warm.
"I bet he would love to see you let your guard down for once."
Priscilla's cheeks burned, but a spark of determination flickered in her red eyes, as she hold her stomach and said.
"Tch, you're probably right... I would want nothing more than for him to impregnate me, I always wanted a family of my own."
She muttered, pulling back to glare at Echidna, though the effect was ruined by the faint smile tugging at her lips.
"Maybe I am the problem. Fine, I'll go see him. And… maybe, no I will tell him. But don't think this means I am soft or anything! I am still Priscilla, and I'll kick his ass if he refuses me."
Echidna laughed, the sound rich and melodic, echoing across the Snake Pool.
"That's the spirit."
She said, setting Priscilla down gently.
"Go to him. Be honest. You'll be surprised how light it feels to get these building emotions out of your system."
Priscilla huffed, crossing her arms again, but her heart was lighter, the ache dulled by a new resolve.
She would go to the human world.
To see Adam.
And maybe, just maybe, she would find the courage to say the words she had buried for so long.
"I love you Adam."
She said to herself.
