He Ate a Divine Dragon-Chapter 435 - 432 Matchmaking
Grandpa Chu's study was immense. The room, well over a hundred square meters, was filled to the brim with all sorts of antiques—famous works of calligraphy and paintings, porcelain, jade, and more. It was a dazzling and overwhelming feast for the eyes.
Seeing Lin Xiao's apparent interest, the old man chuckled. "If you like anything, just take it!"
Lin Xiao smiled. "It's all just junk. I'm not really interested."
At these words, Grandpa Chu burst into hearty laughter. In the entire country, probably only Lin Xiao would dare to say such a thing. One had to understand that Grandpa Chu was an avid collector. While he wouldn't dare claim the collection in this room was worth ten billion, it was certainly worth several billion. Yet, to Lin Xiao, it was all just junk.
However, one couldn't really blame him. Back in Kunlun, Lin Xiao had his own treasure chamber. The items within not only far outnumbered Grandpa Chu's but were also of a quality several hundred tiers higher. After all, the legendary Heirloom Seal of the Realm, bearing the inscription, "Having Received the Mandate from Heaven, May My Reign Be Long and Prosperous," resided in Lin Xiao's vault. That was to say nothing of the piles of thousand-year-old calligraphy, famous paintings, and renowned Yuan dynasty blue-and-white porcelain.
Lin Xiao ignored the old man's laughter and asked seriously, "Old man, you enjoy collecting?"
"I do!"
"If you ever get a chance to visit Kunlun, I'll show you what real treasures look like."
"Deal!" Grandpa Chu laughed. He had grown genuinely fond of Lin Xiao. It wasn't just because the young man had saved his life; he was immensely drawn to his wild, unrestrained personality. In Lin Xiao, he saw a reflection of his younger self, though of course, Lin Xiao was far more formidable than he had ever been.
Just as they were talking, Chu Xiangxue walked in.
"What are you two chatting so happily about?" she asked with a smile.
"Nothing much, just rambling. Where's that boy from the Cheng family?"
"He had something to attend to and left early."
Grandpa Chu nodded. "Xiang Xue, why don't you take Lin Xiao and have some fun? Let this old man get some rest."
He was obviously creating an opportunity for his granddaughter to be alone with Lin Xiao. Being sharp-witted, Chu Xiangxue naturally understood her grandfather's intentions.
She smiled and said, "Sure! I was just thinking of showing Lin Xiao my childhood photos anyway."
"Good, you youngsters go have fun. Young people should be with other young people. It's no fun being stuck with an old codger like me," Grandpa Chu said cheerfully.
Chu Xiangxue responded with a laugh and led Lin Xiao out of her grandfather's study.
Her room was on the fourth floor of the villa, decorated in a very soft and girly style, making one feel as if they had stepped into an ocean of flowers.
"Stinky Daddy, sit down for a moment while I go get the albums!" Chu Xiangxue said with a grin.
Lin Xiao nodded. To be honest, he had absolutely no interest in what Chu Xiangxue looked like as a child. If he could, he would much rather be looking at Su Qingning's childhood photos. But seeing how enthusiastic she was, he didn't have the heart to spoil her mood.
Soon, Chu Xiangxue returned, carrying two thick photo albums. Lin Xiao was a little speechless but took them anyway.
"Stinky Daddy, come look at them on the bed!" she chirped.
Lin Xiao gave her a look. "Are you sure we're just looking at photos? Nothing else?"
"You're awful! Of course we're just looking at photos!"
"Alright then."
Lin Xiao placed the albums on the bed, then lay on his stomach to flip through them. Chu Xiangxue climbed onto the bed as well, lying beside him and idly swinging her small, fair feet as she pointed out pictures of herself one by one. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Truth be told, Chu Xiangxue had been quite adorable as a child—chubby-cheeked and sweet, like a little doll. You could already see traces of the woman she would become in her features. They were looking through the photos peacefully when Chu Xiangxue started acting up again.
Somehow, she had ended up behind him, her arms hooking around his neck. Her lips drew close to his ear, and she whispered, her breath warm and fragrant, "Stinky Daddy, why do you have such a captivating scent on you?"
A shiver ran down Lin Xiao's spine. He quickly shrugged her off and shot to his feet.
"Damn it, Chu Xiangxue! Are you trying to force me to lose control?"
Chu Xiangxue lay lazily on the bed, a radiant smile on her face. "Then lose control, Stinky Daddy. I'm going to be yours sooner or later anyway. You can 'eat' me whenever you want."
"The hell I will! Damn it, all you know is how to cause trouble. If you keep this up, I'm leaving!"
Hearing that he was about to leave, Chu Xiangxue quickly sat up, not daring to push her luck any further.
"Okay, okay, Stinky Daddy, I was wrong! Please don't be mad!"
"Damn it, I have a wife! And you… you just had to try and tempt me into making a mistake!" Lin Xiao grumbled.
Chu Xiangxue hurried off the bed and walked over to him with a look of utter grievance. She took his arm and said coquettishly, "Stinky Daddy, I was wrong. I won't do it again, I promise. Don't be angry, okay?"
Seeing that she was on the verge of tears, Lin Xiao waved his hand dismissively. "Fine. Just don't be so reckless in the future, you hear me?"
Chu Xiangxue beamed and nodded repeatedly. As long as Lin Xiao wasn't angry, everything was fine.
After spending a little more time in her room, it was finally time for dinner. The spread was incredibly sumptuous—no, it was downright luxurious.
During the meal, Lin Xiao met Chu Xiangxue's mother, a woman of grace and elegance. Time seemed to have been exceptionally kind to her; though she was nearly fifty, her excellent upkeep made her look no older than her early forties. Her aura, however, was formidable. Chu Xiangxue's mother was clearly aware of who Lin Xiao was, and she was very polite upon meeting him.
After a few simple pleasantries, the meal officially began. Chu Xiangxue sat next to Lin Xiao, constantly putting food on his plate, while Grandpa Chu and Chu Guopeng kept proposing toasts. It seemed they were determined to get Lin Xiao drunk. Fortunately, Lin Xiao could hold his liquor well and accepted every drink offered. The dinner was a lively affair, and a delightful time was had by all.
After the meal, Lin Xiao had some tea with Grandpa Chu before deciding it was time to leave. After all, Su Qingning was still waiting for him at home.
However, Grandpa Chu refused to let him go, even threatening to go on a hunger strike if he left. Defeated, Lin Xiao had no choice but to agree to stay the night.
Chu Xiangxue was instantly thrilled and suggested they go out to a bar for some fun. Lin Xiao wanted some fresh air himself, so he agreed. He couldn't help it; the Chu family's enthusiasm was almost suffocating.
As night fell, the capital was a magnificent spectacle of shimmering lights. Sitting beside Chu Xiangxue, Lin Xiao watched the scenery flash by the car window, completely captivated.
After a short drive, they arrived at the bar.
"Stinky Daddy, this is the best bar in the entire capital! You're going to love it!"
Lin Xiao smiled. "Alright."
A wall of heat and sound hit him the moment he followed Chu Xiangxue inside. The music was so loud Lin Xiao felt his heart would pound its way out of his chest. Luckily, Chu Xiangxue had booked a private room.
As he followed her into the room, the scene that greeted him left him momentarily speechless.
