He Does Not Deserve My Devotion-Chapter 58: I’ll Gouge It Out of You Raw
"I served three years in prison in her place. All I’m asking is for her to kneel. That’s not too much, is it?" Nina Walsh said, her expression blank.
Wendy Sherman was swayed. ’I’m sick of these recent hardships,’ she thought. ’If I can marry into the Grant Family, I’ll never have to worry about money or a comfortable life again.’
"I can kneel and apologize to you, but you have to text Declan Grant right now and ask him to meet you at The Astral Hotel tonight."
"Fine." Nina Walsh took out her phone and composed a message.
"Done." Nina Walsh held up her phone, her finger hovering over the send button. "You can kneel now."
With a single tap, the message would be sent. Knowing how much Declan Grant valued Nina Walsh, he would certainly agree to the meeting.
’A chance to marry the man I love and be set for life... kneeling once is nothing.’
Wendy Sherman dropped to her knees with a thud. "Nina Walsh, I apologize. Five years ago, I shouldn’t have chased you in my car, and I especially shouldn’t have forced you to take the blame after I hit someone."
The moment she finished, Wendy Sherman’s expression shifted. "Is that good enough? Now send the message!"
"It’s done."
Nina Walsh tapped her finger, then turned and strode quickly toward the door.
Just as she was about to step outside, the three members of the Sherman family rushed out.
Wendy Sherman lunged for the phone, but Nina Walsh, with quick reflexes, threw it far away.
"Aha! You lied! You never sent the message."
"Nina Walsh, you brought this on yourself!"
Wendy’s expression twisted into a vicious snarl. "Someone wants to get rid of the baby in your belly. We were just going to give you some pills to make it quick, but you had to play games. Fine. We’ll send you to an operating table to feel the knife. Let’s see you act so smug then!"
The three Shermans closed in on her. Outnumbered, Nina Walsh was quickly bound and dragged into a car.
Nina Walsh’s hands were tied with rope, and her mouth was taped shut.
Brian Sherman drove while Hayley Vance and her daughter watched Nina from the back seat.
The memory of her humiliating kneeling enraged Wendy Sherman. She slapped Nina across the face, and a red, five-fingered handprint immediately appeared on her fair skin.
"Nina Walsh, you’ve got some nerve. Pregnant with another man’s child and still thinking about Brother Declan. Do you know who told us to get rid of your baby? It was Aiden Sinclair!"
Nina Walsh’s pupils contracted.
"You don’t believe me? Haven’t you seen the news? Aethel Group invested one billion in the Sherman Group. Aren’t you pathetic? Aiden Sinclair is about to get engaged to Clara Jacobs, and you’re still harassing him while pregnant. No man would tolerate that! You’re just asking to die!"
A sharp pain shot through Nina Walsh’s ears. Wendy Sherman’s words were like an awl, piercing her eardrums.
The car soon stopped at the hospital entrance. Hayley Vance and her daughter put a large surgical mask on Nina Walsh’s face, hiding the tape over her mouth. They also threw a large trench coat over her to hide her figure. Finally, they flanked her, using brute force to drag her by the arms straight to the operating room.
...
"Mr. Sinclair, I just got a call from the sales department. Julian Sinclair has been stealing our orders one after another. They’re all projects that were supposed to be signed or renewed this month."
Jay Keane reported, standing by the hospital bed.
Mr. Sinclair was in the hospital recovering from an injury and shouldn’t have been disturbed, but Julian Sinclair’s attack was so aggressive that the company was in chaos.
Aiden Sinclair sat up and carefully reviewed the documents, his expression growing grimmer with each page.
He and Julian Sinclair had been fighting both openly and secretly for years; it was a common occurrence. They’d traded wins and losses, and over time, each had carved out his own territory and market share.
But this time was different. Julian Sinclair had managed to poach four of his clients in just a few days. The precision was too high, too suspicious.
"Mr. Sinclair, we contacted those companies. They said that not only did Julian Sinclair offer them incredibly tempting prices and benefits, but he also seemed to know our quotes inside and out."
"Mr. Sinclair, rumors are already spreading through the company that there’s a mole. The departments are all pointing fingers at each other; it’s a complete mess. Sir, if we don’t stop this quickly, the losses will be devastating."
’A mole?’
’Impossible. Aethel’s senior executives started the company with me. They’re all shareholders. If something happened to Aethel, none of them would benefit.’
Just then, a call came in from Julian Sinclair.
"My dear nephew, got the news yet? I stole your clients, haha! And let me tell you, it’s not just this month. I’ve already got Aethel’s orders for next month and the month after all lined up."
Julian Sinclair sounded smug and arrogant. "You still don’t know what’s going on, do you, my dear nephew? Here, let your uncle share a pearl of wisdom with you—you can offend anyone, but never offend a woman."
Julian Sinclair’s words were a sudden reminder for Aiden Sinclair.
He remembered that he had been handling all his recent documents at Cloudcrest Manor.
’It was her!’
’Nina Walsh had never submitted to him. She had been looking for a chance to get revenge all along.’
’She hated him so much that she was willing to side with Julian Sinclair just to make him pay.’
"Back to the office."
Aiden Sinclair got out of bed and changed out of his hospital gown.
Jay Keane looked at the blood-stained bandages on his waist and hand, his voice filled with concern. "Mr. Sinclair, your injuries...?"
"I’m fine."
Aiden Sinclair changed into a clean suit. The dark fabric hid the bloodstains on his white shirt. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
...
Brian Sherman’s family was dragging Nina Walsh down the corridor toward the operating room. Once they handed her over, their task would be complete.
Nina Walsh was still struggling, looking for a chance to escape. Wendy Sherman shot her a vicious glare. "Behave. If you’re good, I might be merciful and let the doctor give you anesthesia. If not, they’ll just cut you open raw and dig it out of you!"
Nina Walsh’s pupils constricted in terror. Wendy Sherman was about to add another gloating threat when Brian Sherman turned, shushed her, and motioned with his eyes toward the hallway ahead.
About a dozen paces away, Aiden Sinclair and his assistant were walking briskly in their direction, deep in conversation.
An idea struck Wendy Sherman. She leaned close to Nina Walsh’s ear and whispered, "Look, Aiden Sinclair came to oversee this himself. That’s how much he hates you."
Nina Walsh looked up just as Aiden Sinclair brushed past her, heading for the elevator without a single glance in her direction.
"Hurry up! No one can save you today." Wendy Sherman shoved Nina Walsh forcefully into the operating room.
The elevator doors opened. Aiden Sinclair, standing at the entrance, suddenly turned and looked back toward the operating room.
"Mr. Sinclair, the elevator’s here," Jay Keane reminded him.
Aiden Sinclair stared in the direction of the operating room. The door suddenly opened, and Brian Sherman’s family walked out.
A glint flashed in Aiden Sinclair’s eyes, and he darted forward.
Brian Sherman stood at the door of the operating room, a wide grin on his face. "And just like that... twenty million in the bag."
His smile hadn’t even fully formed when a gust of wind seemed to blow past him, and Aiden Sinclair burst into the operating room.
On the operating table, two nurses were strapping down Nina Walsh’s hands and feet. Her mouth was still covered with tape.
"What are you doing?"
Aiden Sinclair rushed over and ripped the tape from her mouth.
"Mr. Sinclair, we’re just following your orders!" Brian Sherman shouted as he hurried in after him.
Aiden Sinclair froze for a second. Someone bumped into him from behind as Nina Walsh scrambled off the operating table and ran out of the room.
Aiden Sinclair gave chase, but Nina Walsh made it into an elevator and quickly shut the doors.
The elevator went straight to the parking garage on level B1. As soon as the doors opened, Nina Walsh bolted out. She saw a car starting and, without a second thought, dove inside.
"Hey? Who are you? What are you doing in my car?"
Milo Preston was just parking when someone suddenly got into his back seat. He turned his head and met a pair of eyes wide with terror.
"It’s you?"
"Someone’s chasing me! Please, help me. Get me out of here."
