He Got Engaged to His First Love On the Day I Died-Chapter 90: He Pushed Her and She Hit the Back of Her Head
Although Yulia White’s heart was still beating, she was as good as dead.
Felix Finch called Natalie Morgan, urging her to take Yulia White off life support soon to end the patient’s suffering.
Natalie agreed.
But what she didn’t expect was that two days before she was to be taken off life support, Yulia White was stolen.
Stealing a brain-dead patient could only mean one thing: her organs were still valuable.
When Natalie went to the police, she immediately named Wanda Lynch.
Inside the interrogation room.
After Wanda Lynch gave her statement, Theodore Grant prepared to take her home.
Natalie, agitated, stretched out her arm to block them. "You can’t leave! Wanda Lynch, where did you take my mother? How many more evil things are you going to do before you finally stop?"
"The police said I can go. What right do you have to stop me?" Wanda Lynch clung pitifully to Theodore Grant’s arm. "Theodore, look how fierce Natalie is. She must have misunderstood me again. You know I’m timid. How could I ever do something like that?"
"Wanda Lynch, stop acting! You weren’t so frail when you stabbed me with a knife." Natalie’s brow furrowed in anger, her eyes wide as she walked right up to Wanda Lynch. "Tell me! Where did you hide my mother?"
"Look at her. How could she kidnap someone and hide them? She doesn’t even have a home. Where would she hide anyone?" Theodore Grant said, defending Wanda Lynch as he pushed Natalie away. "What proof do you have?"
"’Look at her’? You saw what she was like when she stabbed me. There’s nothing she wouldn’t dare to do." Natalie felt helpless. ’It couldn’t be anyone else.’ She grabbed Wanda Lynch’s arm. "Wanda Lynch, did you do this with someone else? You stole her because I wouldn’t agree, didn’t you?"
Wanda Lynch was held in Natalie’s tight grip.
She shrieked as if she’d lost control in terror, hiding in Theodore Grant’s arms. "Theodore, it wasn’t me, it really wasn’t... Natalie is so scary..."
"Wanda Lynch, that’s enough! Just tell me, where did you hide her...?"
Natalie tugged and pulled at Wanda Lynch.
She burrowed deeper into Theodore Grant’s embrace, appearing even more fragile.
"Is this ever going to end?" Theodore Grant raised a hand and shoved Natalie away.
He was strong and she was light, unable to withstand the force. She staggered back a few steps before falling backward.
The back of her head hit the ground, and the pain made her vision go black.
Theodore Grant realized he’d used too much force and was about to help her up.
But Wanda Lynch wrapped her arms around his waist and started sobbing. "Theodore... my heart hurts so much. It’s beating so fast. Let’s just go home first."
Just then, a police officer came out and helped Natalie to a chair to rest.
So Theodore Grant left with Wanda Lynch.
"Don’t you worry. We’ll find her. And if there’s real evidence pointing to Wanda Lynch, we will never let a criminal get away," the officer said.
Natalie nodded forlornly. "Thank you."
A large bump had formed on the back of her head.
There was no external wound, but it ached.
But how could she possibly care about that now?
Sitting on the steps outside the police station, she felt completely lost.
’This has to be related to Wanda Lynch.’
’My intuition would never lie to me.’
「Three days later.」
Yulia White was found in a pond in a public park.
She had been in the water for so long she was unrecognizable.
Moreover, her body was covered in multiple unstitched wounds.
The body was sent to the morgue at Mercy Hospital.
When Natalie arrived at the hospital, she ran frantically toward the mortuary. Before she could get there, Felix Finch caught her and wrapped his arms around her waist. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
Even he, an outsider, couldn’t bear to look at Yulia White’s horrific state.
He was terrified of how the shock would affect Natalie.
"Natalie, you need to calm down."
Natalie’s eyes were red with defiance. "Let me go! I want to see my mom..."
"Your mother is gone. And her body... it was in the pond for several days. It’s not... Listen to me..." Felix Finch held Natalie’s shoulders. "Don’t look, okay?"
"Felix, I want to see her. No matter what she looks like, I want to see her. She’s my mother."
Natalie started to cry, looking as if she would collapse at any moment.
Felix felt incredibly pained watching her, but he didn’t let go. "I know, I understand. I can empathize with you, but your mother... really, Natalie, don’t look."
Just then, Theodore Grant walked in.
He had also just received the news.
Yulia White’s liver, kidneys, lungs, and heart had all been cut out. It looked more like the work of a black-market organ trafficking ring.
"I’ll go take a look."
Theodore Grant approached the gurney and gently lifted the white sheet.
The sight was too horrific for words.
It was utterly ghastly.
Natalie broke free from Felix Finch and ran over.
Theodore Grant quickly dropped the white sheet, covered her eyes, and pulled her into his arms. "It’s better... if you don’t look."
"Let go of me, Theodore Grant! You’re the murderer! Stop your hypocritical act! Let me go..."
Natalie grew frantic and bit down on Theodore Grant’s arm.
Blood quickly soaked through his white shirt.
"Natalie Morgan, calm down!"
Theodore Grant gave the attendant a meaningful look.
Yulia White’s body was then wheeled away.
Natalie, exhausted from biting and crying, struggled to stop the person wheeling Yulia away.
But she had no strength left.
She was like a broken puppet.
She pushed Theodore Grant away and stumbled outside, each heavy step filled with endless grief.
’Mom was dead, and she hadn’t been able to see her one last time.’
’It was a regret she could never make up for in her entire life.’
"Natalie."
Felix Finch chased after her, worried.
Theodore Grant paused for about three seconds, then followed them out.
"Natalie, don’t be so sad. The police will catch the killer," Felix Finch tried to comfort her.
It was as if she were in a silent world, all sounds blocked out, leaving only the endless sorrow echoing in her heart.
’Her adoptive parents were gone.’
’Her father was gone.’
’And now, even her mother was gone.’
’She was like rootless duckweed. Where in the world could she ever belong...?’
Theodore Grant came up from behind and swept her up into his arms.
Natalie didn’t struggle or speak. She was just quiet, letting him carry her forward.
Theodore Grant took Natalie back to the Grant Residence.
He personally brewed a calming soup and brought it to her, but she swatted it away.
He knew she was grieving, so he didn’t hold it against her.
"I’ll handle the funeral arrangements for you," he said.
Natalie’s empty eyes shifted slowly. "No need."
’She didn’t need a murderer, an accomplice, to do such a thing. He wasn’t worthy.’
"Are you blaming me?" he frowned.
Natalie gave a bitter laugh, her bloodshot eyes glaring at him as large tears fell. "Theodore Grant, even if it wasn’t you, you’re not blameless. Shouldn’t I hate you? I want to kill you."
"You saw Wanda Lynch’s condition. Her legs are bad. How could she kidnap someone? And if she really did it, why would she take out the heart, liver, lungs, and kidneys?"
She uncontrollably seized his collar, questioning him hoarsely, "If she couldn’t do it, wasn’t there still you? Theodore Grant, if you didn’t do it yourself, you could have hired someone, couldn’t you? Your twisted logic doesn’t hold water! Stop making excuses, you murderer!"
