Healing System-Chapter 286: Destroying The Classmates
"Pick your weapons," Arthur ordered, flashing a small glare toward both Michael and Celeste.
She hadn't done anything wrong, technically, but still, she managed to get on his bad radar.
As for Michael? He had already come to terms with the fact that this guy had a stick up his ass.
Anyhow, there were weapons made of steel scattered everywhere, and frankly, he wasn't sure what to pick.
So he turned toward Celeste, who, funnily enough, grabbed a pair of nunchucks.
"Are you really using that?" Michael asked with a raised brow.
"Why not? I have many weapons, but I don't really have one I like," Celeste replied with a shrug. "If anything, nunchucks might be the unique weapon I've always wanted."
"I don't think so..." Michael glanced through the weapon selection until, eventually, his eyes landed on a rapier.
It seemed simple, but at the same time, as he looked at it, he could practically see Celeste wielding it.
Therefore, he walked over to it, picked it up, and brought it over to Celeste.
"A rapier? I don't think that's a good idea..." she said flatly.
"Try it out, trust me," Michael replied with a smile. "If anything, we have time. We can practice your nunchucks if you want."
Of course, he would much rather she just stick to a more normal weapon.
After all, nunchucks were something he would imagine some monk using, not a hot woman.
With reluctance, she picked the rapier up and swung it around a few times.
A surprised expression appeared on her face as she began thrusting and thrusting, getting a better feel for it with each passing moment.
Noticing that his suggestion worked, Michael decided not to bother her.
Instead, he would pick out his own weapon himself.
If anything, a sword was off the table.
A spear seemed boring, an axe even more so.
It was like every weapon he glanced at didn't appeal to him.
However, he noticed one weapon in particular, which was stashed in the corner of the courtyard.
It was a bow—one that seemed slightly broken.
But while no one was looking, Michael quickly repaired it with the use of his mana.
As he did, he held it firmly, pulled back the bowstring, and summoned a golden arrow.
In the very next moment, he shot the arrow toward a nearby tree, and to his surprise, it hit the tree head-on.
But of course, it was because he unconsciously guided the arrow, but still.
He found something interesting.
Michael shot a few more arrows, his strength varying with each one.
However, he finally found a balance.
And of course, that balance was him using his full strength and blasting an arrow into the ground, creating a massive crevice.
Yep, this is the one. Michael thought with a grin, and as he turned toward his class, he noticed all of them staring at him with wide eyes.
Soon, Arthur walked up, his expression one of shock.
"Y-You're pretty talented with a bow. I expected a bit less from you, to be honest."
"Really? It's almost like you're acknowledging I'm a genius," Michael teased. "Oh wait, I am."
Being cocky from time to time never hurt anybody, and if he could piss someone off in the process, even better.
However, there were a few things he disliked about the bow.
And that was—it was weak.
He needed something much, much stronger.
But there was one problem.
If he made a bow from his mana, then it wouldn't be as satisfying as having one tailor-made for him.
However, if that was what it took, then Michael would suck it up.
Nonetheless, Arthur's admiration soon faded, replaced with disgust. "You're going up first. The format is simple. A student fights you, and if they win, they take your place and fight someone else. If you beat them, you get to stay."
Oh, so I can technically win the entire thing without being eliminated. Neat. Michael thought with a smile before nodding.
[I think you should lose on purpose,] the system suddenly suggested. [You already have a target on your back, so if you do this, it might lessen it.]
What are you even talking about? Why would I hold back whenever the win is so easy to get? Just look at them. Michael glanced at all the students.
They were talented, sure.
However, they were nowhere near his level of strength.
I can beat them without even using a weapon. Frankly, I can beat them without even lifting a finger.
The system remained silent for a moment before remarking, [You're pretty cocky nowadays... I wonder what changed.]
Maybe it's my strength? Who knows. Michael shrugged, avoiding the topic.
If the system found out he knew about the past, then it would likely break, and he would regain all of his powers.
But if that happened, he'd be killed very swiftly.
And of course, he still had to deal with the time guardians.
They would likely be the first ones to show up if they recognized his strength.
Nonetheless, Michael adjusted to the bow swiftly, and soon, the first student walked up.
It was a buff man. However, he held some pussy weapon.
A fan.
What can you do with a fan? Michael scoffed.
Yet in the very next moment, he found out.
The man brought the fan downward, and with that, a fierce gust of wind expanded forward.
As it did, Michael's eyes widened as he swiftly shot his arrow forward, breaking the wind's tension and scattering it.
[Not a pussy weapon now, is it?] the system snickered. [It's pretty efficient in combat. Or more like, it's very efficient if the right person wields it.]
I guess you're right. Michael nodded, beginning to take this seriously.
Losing against someone like that was definitely not on his agenda.
So Michael merely brought his hand into the air and summoned exactly five arrows before nocking them on his bowstring.
The man was slightly surprised at what was happening and attempted to slice the air with the fans a couple more times.
However, it was completely fruitless, as Michael's first arrow broke through the wind's tension, the second pierced the man's leg.
And of course, the others traveled upward before eventually embedding themselves into the head of the man, killing him.
Or, well, killing him for the next couple of hours until he eventually got reborn.
"I forgot to clarify," Arthur said, his glare changing to one of hatred. "No killing. Even if we can come back, the pain is still serious."

"Oh, I see. My bad, instructor," Michael said, scratching his head. "I didn't know."
His classmates looked at him as though they didn't believe him, and soon, the next one stepped up.
A girl wielding a spear.
It was a fun but boring combo. Therefore, he did the same thing as last time.
Nocking five arrows, he shot them all outward, piercing the girl everywhere but the head and vitals.
It still hurt, but obviously, at least she wasn't dead.
"Michael!" Arthur yelled. "Be sportsmanlike. I don't want you killing someone again."
"Oops, Teach. Yep. Sorry. I'll try my best next time," Michael replied unconvincingly.
And that was how the matches proceeded, with him shooting his arrows and completely destroying each of his classmates.
It was an easy feat since he wasn't even trying.
The mana consumption was nonexistent too, so he merely hummed to himself while doing it.
However, at some point down the line, his classmates stopped stepping forward.
"What are you all doing? Who's next?" Arthur asked with furrowed brows. "Michael has eliminated a few of you, sure. But how are you going to get stronger if you don't fight him now? Huh? You think the demons are going to give you a potty break?"
Michael was still waiting for Celeste to step up, and with a sigh, she finally did.
The rapier rested cleanly in her hand, representing grace.
But he was curious about one thing.
"Why didn't you come up sooner? I thought fighting me would be what you wanted?"
Celeste shook her head. "What I wanted is to fight someone else. Why would I want to hurt the person I l-like?"
She barely managed to say those words as her entire face was now flushed.
Yet Michael merely let out a chuckle as he readied an arrow.
"I won't get hurt no matter what you do, Celeste. Feel free to go all out. Consider me a target dummy if anything."
"Huh? Really?" She looked toward him with a particular glint in her eyes. "You'd let me do that?"
"Haha... Yep, go all out," Michael nodded.
As he did, Celeste's eyes suddenly narrowed, a serious expression appearing on her face.
She was no longer the playful, teasing, and of course, overly horny Celeste.
Now? She was a full-blown fighter who he decided to treat with respect.
Or try to, anyway.
It wouldn't change the fact that he was much stronger than her.
Therefore, Michael pulled back his bowstring as a smile appeared on his face.
"Ready?" he asked.
And Celeste immediately nodded, pointing her rapier forward.
"Ready."
