Chapter 138: Embarassing Himself

The city was big, it was a given fact. Although many cultivators wouldn’t even reach here due to deaths and unwillingness, there were only three cities left, so the number of cultivators per city would in fact increase.

They made it to the core area and looked towards the pillars. There were two pillars from which the inheritances were not claimed yet.

There were a total of ten pillars in the core area, which was far more than the first city.

Ming Yue looked towards Jing Tian and Yu Yan and said,

"You guys should try one for yourselves."

She said that because she knew these two might not even ask for it. Jiang Hao would definitely not care about it, but she did. She loved treasures too, but now that she had invited these two with her, it wouldn’t look good if they kept everything for themselves.

Yu Yan nodded and chose one random pillar for herself and said,

"Then we will take this one, Sister Ming."

Since Ming Yue had already told her to not call her ’senior,’ she wouldn’t do it. She hoped that her senior brother wouldn’t chicken out and call them seniors again.

Ming Yue nodded and looked towards Jiang Hao.

"Junior brother, do you want to do it or should I give it a try?"

"If you want, you can go, senior sister."

Jiang Hao didn’t care who among them claimed the inheritance. In the end, the whole treasure belonged to them together. In fact, it was better if senior sister Ming Yue went in. She could communicate better with whoever senior was inside the pillar.

Not everyone was as open as Senior Jia Chen. At their level of cultivation, they demanded a kind of respect which he might not be able to give them.

And if that happened, then they could forget about claiming the treasures, even if they were utmost geniuses.

Reaching that level of cultivation was very difficult. The journey was vast, and survival also mattered.

There might be many geniuses born in the world, but only a few were able to reach the near-peak of the world.

The reason was simple: even if you were a genius, you were not invulnerable. Many died on the path of cultivation, and most of them were geniuses who took risks to travel this journey faster.

It might seem contradictory to think that those who didn’t take risks had weak will, but it wasn’t true at all. There was a difference between foolishness and fearing death.

So, those who could reach that level of cultivation definitely deserved respect from their juniors, even from those who might be stronger than them when compared at the same cultivation level.

Jiang Hao’s view was different. He didn’t give respect just because someone was stronger than him. He might say ’senior’ out of courtesy for the person being older than him.

In the inheritance site, he could definitely give them respect on the matter of them sacrificing themselves for the survival of humanity, but he would certainly not show any reverence just because they were stronger than him.

Ming Yue was different. She knew how to act perfectly. She could easily communicate with anyone without letting the other person feel any kind of repulsion towards her.

"Then I will go. Junior brother, wait for me."

When Jiang Hao saw that Ming Yue was about to strike the pillar, he thought for a moment and said,

"Senior sister, I don’t think you really need to strike that pillar. Just go and put your hand on the pillar, it will work."

"Really?"

Ming Yue looked sceptical, but she trusted him, so she just went and put her hand on the pillar, and as expected, she felt the pull. She smiled and went inside.

When Jing Tian and Yu Yan saw that, they were surprised. They didn’t know about this.

Jing Tian looked towards his pillar and went close to try the same thing. He thought maybe it was a different rule for the Eastern Region inheritance site.

Maybe all the seniors of the Eastern Region were magnanimous.

When he put his hand on the pillar, he even showed a gentle smile to look valiant.

He thought that he would definitely feel a pull, but after ten seconds, he didn’t feel anything. He blinked his eyes and waited five seconds more, but the result was the same.

He removed his hand from the pillar and moved away a little. His face was red now.

Forget about Jiang Hao and Yu Yan who were looking at him as if he were an idiot, even the senior inside the pillar must have laughed about it.

"Cough... Junior sister, would you like to give it a try?"

He didn’t want to take the test now. It would really be embarrassing to face the senior inside the pillar after this incident.

Yu Yan wasn’t going to accept his proposal though. She could definitely pass the initial test and enter the pillar, and she might even have a good chance to obtain the inheritance inside, which many had failed to get. But she didn’t want to do it now just because he was feeling ashamed.

She had an inkling how Ming Yue might have gotten the acceptance to enter the pillar just by putting her hand on it.

It was somewhat similar to how Jiang Hao had claimed the last inheritance so quickly. It was that there was no need to test them. There was only one thing that could help them to this extent, it was the Main Consciousness.

It was a given fact that the Main Consciousness valued unbelievable geniuses. Given that both Jiang Hao and Ming Yue had shown their capabilities, there was no doubt that in this whole inheritance site, no one would even be comparable to these two.

The Main Consciousness might not help them in their fights, but it could definitely help them obtain inheritances easily.

When she had seen Jing Tian going towards the pillar and trying the same thing Ming Yue had just done, she knew that he was just embarrassing himself.

As for the matter of getting the inheritance, she just closed her eyes and let him talk to himself.

When Jing Tian saw that she was ignoring him, he got tongue-tied and looked towards the pillar.

He took a deep breath and pulled himself together. For treasures, he could accept this much shame.

He had told his master previously that he would obtain his resources by himself. His master had happily accepted it and given all the resources he was planning to give him to his junior sister.

He felt a pinch from it, as his master had done this in front of him to show him what he had missed.

So, getting this inheritance would be a big help for him. This was also the reason Yu Yan didn’t want to enter this pillar, he wouldn’t take any treasure from her if she got the inheritance.

He pulled out his saber and, without wasting time, dashed towards the pillar.

In a swift moment, he arrived in front of the pillar and hacked it in a simple slash.

Jiang Hao was surprised. The movement of the saber slash was really brilliant. He knew that Jing Tian’s mastery in the way of the saber was definitely higher than his mastery in the way of the sword.

There was no elemental ability involved in that saber attack, but the qi released from the saber definitely wasn’t normal qi, it was too volatile to be called normal spirit qi.

He didn’t know what type of attack it was, but Jing Tian had succeeded, as he disappeared. It meant that he was allowed to enter the pillar.

He looked towards the other city and disappeared. Sister Ming Yue might take some time, it would be enough for him to check the other cities to see if they had inheritances left or not.

He arrived at the left city, and after coming to the core area, he saw that there was one unclaimed inheritance present here too.

He left again and went to the city on the right side. This time, he didn’t see any inheritance that wasn’t claimed yet.

He came back and saw that Ming Yue was already out and talking to Yu Yan.

"Junior brother, any more inheritances?"

"There is one in the left city, but none in the right one."

"So let’s go and claim it, junior brother. Want to come?"

The last sentence was meant for Yu Yan.

She shook her head.

"I will wait here."

Ming Yue already knew she would decline but asked nonetheless.

Jiang Hao and Ming Yue came to the left city.

After crossing the barrier, he was about to teleport them again, but Ming Yue stopped him.

"Let’s walk, junior brother. We have a lot of time on our hands anyway. Jing Tian won’t come out as early as us."

Jiang Hao nodded, but he was confused, what was there to talk about?

"Junior brother, when I heard you say that putting your hand on the pillar will work, I thought you had experienced it. That means you had gained an inheritance too.

After confirming with Yu Yan, I found out that it was the truth. After talking with her more, I found out the reason why they are calling you senior when you are only eighteen years old.

Do you know what their age is , junior brother?"

Jiang Hao was speechless. How was it his fault if they were calling him senior? He didn’t ask them to do it.

He shook his head, indicating that he didn’t know.

"They are about the same age as me, junior brother. Forget about it, but you know what? I was just about to hear some complaints from Yu Yan about you, when you came back, and she wasn’t able to tell me, junior brother."
