Chapter 58: Chapter 57: Revelations

Zein’s Point of View

I looked at my friends, all of them smiling at me. I could see the joy in their eyes at seeing me safe, but I also saw the anger in Matt’s gaze as he looked at my shoulder.

Among my friends, Matt is undoubtedly the overprotective one, so I understood why he was so angry. His shoulder was also tied up, streaked with blood. Nazzer’s shoulder was the same, and he was staring at Nicky, who looked equally exhausted.

I glanced at Sir Alvarez, who seemed worried as he looked at my shoulder. I smiled at him, and he returned it.

Amid all that I saw, one man furrowed his brow at me.

Ferry. What the hell! Why is he here? He’s alive?

Ferry, the man who spilled juice on Supremo. The man we had thrown into the Dark Hell Jail.

"W-What does this mean?" Madame Violet asked, incredulous. "H-How?" The shock was still evident in her eyes.

I was startled and confused as well, but somehow clarity was beginning to emerge, though not enough to stop the thoughts that haunted my mind.

I glanced at Francisco, who was smiling as he looked at Raze. I didn’t know why, but there was a trace of sadness behind his smile. Was he sad? Was it because their reign of evil was about to end, or did it mean something else entirely?

"Surprised?" Supremo asked.

"Why don’t you take off your mask?" Francisco challenged Raze Silvenia.

The smile remained on his lips, now more of a smirk than before.

Madame Violet laughed. "No need. There’s just a clone behind that mask, because the real Raze is Supremo," she said.

I heard whispers of shock from those behind us at Madame Violet’s revelation.

I felt Supremo tighten his hold on my hand, and I looked up at him. I could see the fire in his eyes, I had never seen him like this before.

"How did you figure that out?" Raze asked with an insistent tone, but if you listened closely, his voice carried a teasing edge.

It felt like we were watching a show starring Raze, Ace, Francisco, and Madame Violet. We could only observe, waiting for what would happen next. We had no idea what would unfold or be revealed.

The police stood guard around us, as did the armed men, their guns trained on us.

"It’s easy to figure out... When Ace is in, Raze is out... Raze in? Ace out. They never appear at the same time, and we knew that the one pretending to be Raze was just a clone."

Supremo laughed at Madame Violet’s words. So they, too, knew it was only a clone posing as Raze, I wasn’t the only one who had figured it out.

I also heard Raze’s quiet laughter. Shit! His voice was so cold.

"Nice conclusion... but," Ace complimented. "I am no Raze," he added.

"I am," Raze said, speaking up.

We then looked at the man standing beside Raze. "I am the clone," he said.

The fake Raze, the real Raze, and the one previously mistaken for Raze. Ugh! The identity of the man in the red mask was so complicated.

"We purposely made you think I was Raze, and I guess... we succeeded," Supremo said, motioning for me to go to the back, where my friends were waiting.

I didn’t want to leave his side, but when he smiled at me, I had no choice.

Matt and Dave met me, supporting me as we walked. I looked at Matt, still visibly angry as he stared at my shoulder.

"Shit..." I heard him mutter quietly.

I placed a hand on his shoulder to calm him. Vanessa, Mia, and Jerome came to meet us as well.

I smiled when Mia suddenly hugged me, crying. "Z-Zein, I am sorry," she repeated over and over.

I hugged her back, unsure what to say. I was still weak and needed to gather my strength.

"We’re complete again..." Vanessa said, tears in her eyes.

"What are you talking about?" Supremo once again captured our attention. Madame Violet’s hand trembled as she held her gun.

I instantly worried for Supremo, knowing Madame Violet. She wouldn’t hesitate to shoot him, if she could harm her own child, how much more him?

"You!" Madame Violet barked at Nazzer. "Why are you with the Devil God Warrior? You’re supposed to be enemies! Join us, help me crush those pests!" she demanded.

All of our attention was now on Nazzer, who chuckled softly. "There was never a war between us... it was all just a show... a show for moments like this," he said.

I swallowed hard as ideas slowly formed in my mind. First, they had planned to make it appear that Ace was Raze. Second, the gangs weren’t really enemies, it was all an act. Third, when you put everything together... it was likely that Supremo and Raze had orchestrated all of this. Supremo’s Ace.

But the greatest mystery still lingered for me: who was the person behind that mask?

Who are you, Raze Silvenia?

"Nonsense," Madame Violet said. "You killed Rouge Silvenia! Raze Silvenia’s sibling," she added.

Nazzer laughed again. "We didn’t kill him... Oh, yes! We did kill him, but he agreed to it... He sacrificed his life for these moments, and we had no intention of wasting it," he explained.

"And you think you can take me down?" he challenged.

"Of course we can... do you know why? Because you were careless. You poured all your attention into searching for the missing formula. You didn’t expect something like this to happen. And for your information... Rouge Silvenia is not my sibling," Raze said, glancing at Supremo.

Supremo smiled at him. "It’s time. Reveal yourself... Kuya," he said.

[Kuya = honorifics for an older guy sibling or just older boy in general]

I looked at Matt, who chuckled. Even if he wouldn’t admit it, I knew he already knew everything, so did Dave and Jerome. I turned my gaze forward.

"Take off your mask..." Francisco challenged, speaking for the first time.

I glanced at Hoy, who leapt onto Raze’s shoulder. I cursed under my breath as I realized that Raze might be Hoy’s owner, the one who had whistled in the forest.

Before Raze could even remove his mask, Madame Violet stumbled backward in shock as she looked at Hoy perched on Raze’s shoulder.

"Meow."

Francisco smiled, as if he too finally knew the person behind the mask.

"No... impossible," Madame Violet said, her lips trembling.

"It’s been a long time... Madame... Sir..." He bowed slightly before finally removing his mask, causing Madame Violet’s jaw to drop in shock.

A commotion arose from the students beside us as they looked at the man who had finally revealed his face.

"L-Luxury Valdez..."

I froze as it sank in who this man was. He was the former Supreme Student Government President, the child of the former headmaster. But how? I thought he was dead.

I suddenly remembered what Celine had said, that the owner of Hoy was Lux. That explained everything...

"I am sorry, Madame, but Lux has already passed. I am now Raze Silvenia, and I want you to meet my younger brother..." Raze escorted Supremo. "Supremo Ace Craige," he added.

It was then that I truly noticed their similarities and differences. Raze looked like a carbon copy of Supremo, yet he was taller, had a dimple, and one red eye. His charisma was undeniable, especially when he smiled.

So they are siblings? I realized I still didn’t know much about Ace’s true self. He remained a great mystery.

"He’s handsome... Too bad I only get to see him now. If it had been earlier– then the joy woul–"

"Be quiet!" Jerome shouted at her, puffing his cheeks as he froze beside Vanessa. "You’re so noisy," he muttered.

"Dave is still better looking," Mia added.

"I know that already," Dave said casually.

I just shook my head.

"Supremo is more handsome..."

"Y-You have a brother?" Madame Violet asked in disbelief. "H-How-"

"We hid him on purpose... If we had introduced him earlier, you might have done something terrible to him as well," Raze said, his voice laced with anger.

"You killed my father... I want to rip your neck apart," Supremo said bitterly, "... but it would be better for you to regret everything behind bars."

I could not help but feel pity for Supremo. How did he manage to endure such an immense blow in his life? Yes, he is strong, but physical strength is never enough when what attacks you is emotion. And then... I had even managed to hurt him myself.

Supremo...

"And do you think you can capture me alive?" she challenged.

Madame Violet’s men immediately went on alert, yet Francisco remained calm, a reaction that made Madame Violet furrow her brow.

"Is there a problem?" Madame Violet asked him.

"Welcome back, Luxury, or should I say... Raze Silvenia," Francisco said.

"I thought you had killed the two of them," Madame Violet said to Francisco. "How did Lux survive?!" she demanded.

Francisco only curled his lips into a grin.

Third Person Point of View

The surroundings were still dark, but in a few hours the sun would rise again. Everything was nearing its end, yet there was no certainty who would prevail, and one thing was clear: the bloodshed was far from over.

Raze smiled as he recalled everything that had happened, all that Madame Violet and Francisco had done to him.

Flashback...

The rain fell heavily, accompanied by thunder. Darkness engulfed the surroundings, and only the lightning provided momentary illumination.

Two lovers held hands, making their way through the tree-lined paths of Hell University. Fear gripped them, yet they did not falter.

"S-Supremo, I-I can’t walk any further," said the woman, Samantha, who had been shot.

Her partner, Luxury, looked at her.

"I’m sorry, baby," he whispered helplessly as he saw the immense suffering on her face.

Inside Lux, fury and rage burned intensely. He trembled, not from the cold, but from the sheer anger at those responsible for his father’s death and for harming Samantha.

He never expected to be betrayed by the people he considered his uncle and aunt... his family.

They froze in shock as Samantha fell onto the muddy ground. Her mouth hung open slightly, as if struggling for breath.

"Shit! Sam, please. I’ll get you out of this place... Just... just don’t leave me, baby."

Samantha smiled weakly when she saw the tears welling in Raze’s eyes. Their love for each other was immense, beyond measure.

"Lux... I-I can’t..."

"Fuck! Don’t leave me! And that’s an order from me!"

Samantha smiled again, though even if she wanted to obey him, her body would no longer respond. She could feel her limbs going numb and the weight of her eyelids pulling her into darkness.

"Baby, I love you." Those were Samantha’s final words before she closed her eyes, never to open them again.

Lux’s lips curled into a bitter smile. Trembling, he cupped Samantha’s lifeless cheek. Her eyes remained firmly shut as he felt her lips quiver one last time.

With the thunder and lightning raging above, he pressed his lips to hers in a final, farewell kiss.

"Baby, I will do everything. I will make them pay dearly for what they did to you."

Lux’s gaze fixed on the man standing before him, the man responsible for the deaths of his father and Samantha.

"Francisco Augustine," he said coldly.

"Luxury Valdez..." Francisco aimed his gun at Lux’s head. "Goodbye," he added.

Lux managed to push Francisco, who fell to the ground, but the bullet grazed his left eye. The pain was intense, and within seconds, it went numb.

Seizing the moment, Lux ran as fast as he could. Francisco merely watched him escape, even though he could have fired again.

A small smile appeared on Francisco’s lips as he watched the young man flee.

"I’ll be waiting for your return..." he murmured to himself.

Lux ran with all his might, each step leaving a trail of blood from his wounded eye.

He froze when a man suddenly blocked his path.

"I-I’m not your enemy... Lux," the man said. "I’m here to help you."

The man quickly approached Lux as he collapsed to the ground.

"You’ve been shot in the eye... I’ll take care of you."

"T-Thank you... Mr. Razon."

End of flashback...

"W-Who helped you?" Francisco asked, recalling what he had done to the young man. He had left him after the gunshot to the eye, so he knew someone must have intervened.

A man emerged from behind Francisco and walked toward Supremo, Raze, and Nazzer.

"Y-You?" Madame Violet asked Mr. Razon in shock.

"It’s me. I replaced one of his eyes so he could see again and not go blind. I’m sorry, but Mr. Valdez is also my friend, and I will never forgive what you did to him."

"Traitor!" Madame Violet shouted and aimed her gun at Mr. Razon, but she dropped the weapon when Raze Silvenia’s knife struck her hand.

She screamed in pain.

"I surrender..." Francisco said, letting go of his gun and raising his hands. "I’m just glad to see you safe," he added, addressing Raze.

He approached the police officers, who immediately handcuffed him.

"I will not surrender," Madame Violet said. "I will get you, Zein Shion. Once I have you, I will rise, and everyone will look up to me. They will worship me!" She laughed maniacally, as though she had completely lost her sanity.

The fact that she had a child no longer crossed her mind—nor that she had even gone so far as to kill her own son.

She signaled the armed men to open fire, and the bloodshed began once again.

What they did not know was that there was someone who found delight in everything that was happening. He merely watched, waiting for the right moment to finally carry out what he had long desired.

"I will be the one to triumph in this war... Just a little more time, and then it will be my turn to move."

Kuya Kib’s note in this Chapter:

To those who correctly guessed the true identity of Raze Silvenia—wow! Amazing job, haha. The ending is really close, and as I mentioned, there is no book 2 or sequel planned. If there ever will be one (not certain)... it will be a surprise, darling. Haha.
