Heretic Trainer: The Gym Is My Cultivation Method-Chapter 420: Secret Base Inside Secret Island
Eliza was already on the ship.
The moment Darrell’s ship began turning away from its original route, she had slipped out of the water and climbed up along the rear hull without making a sound.
Now she stood on the deck, invisible.
Her unique physique, [Ghost], allowed her to thin her presence until even her shadow disappeared.
She activated it, and her body faded completely from sight. Even the sound of her breathing vanished.
She moved quietly across the deck, stepping around sailors as if she were only air.
No one noticed when she stopped near the main hall.
Darrell and his assistant were still speaking.
"We go toward the hidden island," Darrell had said.
Eliza narrowed her eyes slightly. Hidden island?
She leaned closer, staying just outside Darrell’s aura range.
The faint dragon pressure didn’t affect her; her physique muted her presence almost completely.
"What are you planning there?" the assistant asked nervously.
"You’ll see," Darrell replied coldly.
Eliza memorized every word.
The hidden island. Something not tied officially to Draconia.
Her mind moved quickly. What is on that island?
She had been gathering intelligence for weeks and had never heard about it among the pirates.
Darrell’s voice lowered, but Eliza still caught it.
"This time, we won’t retreat."
Eliza’s expression remained calm, but her eyes sharpened.
So this wasn’t just about running.
She stepped back slowly and moved toward the lower deck.
She slipped past crates and barrels until she reached the narrow storage section near the hull.
Below the deck, near a concealed cargo hold, Dahlia and Clara were waiting.
They had climbed onto the ship earlier and hidden themselves in the lower compartments.
Eliza let skill fade as she stepped into the shadows beside them.
Clara nearly jumped.
"Don’t do that," Clara whispered. "You’re creepy."
Eliza ignored the comment.
"Hidden island," she said quietly.
Dahlia’s eyes narrowed.
"Hidden island?"
Eliza nodded once. "They changed direction. That’s the destination."
Clara blinked. "Hidden island? That sounds dramatic."
Dahlia leaned back against the wooden wall, thinking.
"Weird," she muttered. "I never heard about something like that during my time in the Draconia Clan."
She folded her arms. "They’re hiding something."
Clara tilted her head. "You think it’s a backup base?"
Dahlia’s gaze grew more focused. "Interesting."
She crouched slightly and adjusted her footing to balance with the ship’s movement. "Alright. We don’t act yet."
Clara frowned. "We’re not taking him now?"
Dahlia shook her head. "If we attack here, we only get Darrell."
She looked at both of them. "But if this hidden island has something bigger..."
Clara’s grin slowly returned. "Then we get more."
Dahlia nodded. "Exactly."
She tapped the wooden floor lightly. "We stay quiet and follow through. Once we see what’s there, we decide."
Eliza nodded without hesitation.
Clara crossed her arms and leaned back.
"Okay," she whispered. "Now this is getting fun."
Above them, the ship creaked as it adjusted course.
The hidden island waited ahead.
---
Soon, the ship slowed.
The sound of the anchor dropping echoed through the quiet sea.
Dahlia carefully lifted the edge of a small crack in the cargo wall and looked outside.
At first, she saw nothing but open water and mist.
Then the air shifted.
The mist twisted slightly, like something invisible was being peeled away.
An island appeared.
It wasn’t large, but it was hidden well between sharp rock formations.
The shoreline was narrow and rough, and the center of the island was covered in dark stone and dry soil.
Dahlia frowned. "I’ve never seen this place before."
Clara squinted beside her.
"Senior Sister," Clara whispered, "there’s an illusion formation."
Dahlia narrowed her eyes, focusing harder.
Clara continued, "It’s layered. The outer mist hides the shape, and the inner barrier bends light."
Dahlia clicked her tongue softly. "No wonder we had no idea this island existed."
She glanced toward the sea behind them. "And this is still inside the God Archipelago waters."
Clara’s playful expression faded slightly. "That’s bold."
The three of them exchanged looks. It was interesting and at the same time dangerous.
On the deck above, Darrell stepped off the ship first.
Several Draconia members followed him, along with a few trusted pirates.
"Unload only the sealed crates," Darrell ordered. "The rest stays."
The assistant nodded quickly.
Eliza activated her ability again and slipped off the ship without a sound.
She moved along the shadows of the rocks, her body fading into nothing.
From behind a stone ridge, she raised two fingers.
Safe.
Dahlia and Clara moved quietly from the lower hull and followed, stepping lightly over wet rocks.
They kept distance, letting Eliza stay ahead. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
Darrell and his group began walking toward the center of the island.
At first glance, the island looked empty. It was just filled with dry ground and cracked stone, without any vegetation.
Clara frowned as they followed deeper.
"Just what is in this place?" she whispered. "It looks like nothing."
They moved further inland, and then the ground shifted.
A hidden entrance revealed itself between two large rocks.
It wasn’t obvious unless someone knew exactly where to look.
The group ahead entered without hesitation.
Eliza slipped inside first.
She gave a quick signal.
Clear.
Dahlia and Clara followed carefully.
Inside, the temperature dropped slightly. The air felt heavier. The tunnel went deeper than expected.
Clara glanced around as they walked.
"Not only is it hidden," she whispered, "it’s underground."
She ran her hand lightly along the stone wall. "Rock and dry ground outside... but this goes down pretty far."
Dahlia kept walking, her expression growing more serious. "I don’t like this."
Clara blinked. "You don’t?"
Dahlia shook her head slightly. "No."
She placed a hand briefly against her chest. "For some reason... this feels familiar."
Clara tilted her head. "Familiar? Like what?"
Dahlia paused for a second. "I don’t know."
She looked at the dark path ahead where Darrell’s group continued walking deeper. "It’s just a feeling."
Clara studied her face. "You sure?"
Dahlia nodded once. "Yeah."
She exhaled slowly. "But whatever this place is..."
Her eyes sharpened. "It’s not normal."
Eliza, who was ahead near the next turn in the tunnel, stopped briefly and raised her hand again.
The path was narrowing, and something deeper inside the island was waiting.
