Chapter 75: Verdant Forest (10)

"Aragon, do you want me to show you around the academy?"

"Aragon, you promised to show me that trick with your bow."

"Aragon, I got the cake that I promised you. Do you want to have some afternoon tea together?"

When I was surrounded by the elf girls like this, it really was hard to put a damper on their enthusiasm. After all, they were elven girls and as elves, all of them were dangerously beautiful.

It was hard to say no when there were beautiful girls all around you.

"He’s busy."

Two voices suddenly rang out while I was being invited by the elf girls.

The moment that the elf girls heard this, they immediately narrowed their eyes to look in the direction that those voices came from.

One of them was a voice that was filled with confidence that seemed to broker no argument.

The other was a voice that was less confident than the first, but there was still some confidence in it. Other than confidence, there was a shyness that was in this voice that was very evident.

After the elf girls saw the two of them standing there, there was a stareoff that occurred.

But eventually, the elf girls backed down.

After all, the other side was Nimue and Rania.

They were only normal elf girls while the other side was two high elf girls.

There was a hierarchy between the elves where high elves had a higher position, but that was only natural since high elves were supposed to be the higher evolution of the elves in the first place.

That was also the reason why they were so enthusiastic about getting to know me better.

Seeing that they backed down, Nimue suddenly narrowed her eyes and said, "Clear out and stop bothering him."

On the other side, Rania silently moved through the crowd and came over to where I was. Without saying anything, she just grabbed my arm and just started to pull me away.

When she regrouped with Nimue, the two of them started to pull me away from the rest of the elf girls.

The elf girls had disappointed looks on their faces when they saw this, but there wasn’t anything that they could do.

But I still waved my hand and said, "Let’s talk another day."

As soon as the elf girls heard this, they immediately perked up and waved their hands at me before making promises to me.

Nimue said in a lower voice, "You’ll give them the wrong idea if you act this way."

I looked at her with a gentle smile before saying, "Well, you were being a bit too rough with them, so I couldn’t help feeling sorry for them."

"I wasn’t that rough, I was just making things clear to them..." Her voice slowly faded away as she saw the look that I was giving her.

Eventually, Nimue said, "Alright, maybe I was being a bit rough, but it was for your...own..."

Once again, her voice trailed off before she lowered her head and said, "I’m sorry."

I turned to look at Rania after this and she also lowered her head before saying, "I’m sorry."

Shaking my head with a smile, I patted the two of them on the head and said, "Alright, that’s enough of that. So how was class for the two of you?"

As soon as I changed the topic, the two of them immediately perked up and started telling me all about their morning classes.

I just listened to them silently even though I had been in classes as well.

During this, I was also taking in the scenery that was around us.

This place really was built differently, this place was built with the style of the human schools. This was a place that was filled with youth and learning and the reason why I remained in the Verdant Forest.

This place was the Verdant Academy that I agreed to enroll in.

This was the foremost school in the Verdant Forest, the place that all high elves and elves dreamed of attending. Those that were in this place were all those that were the cream of the crop, so it wasn’t as if it was a bad thing to befriend the elves that could attend this place.

But at the same time, there was a different reason why I came here.

It was because I knew that there was a secret to this academy.

It was a secret that was on the same level as the holy relics of the hero or the inheritances of the past demon kings. That was why I had to at least remain here until I had the chance to get that secret.

However, that didn’t mean that I couldn’t learn a few things while I was here.

The elves were a race that had existed for a long time and there was a lot of knowledge that was gathered by them. That knowledge that they gathered was all stored here in the Verdant Academy since this was the foremost learning environment.

In the game, this place was just a place for those that chose the elf race to experience a fantasy school plot.

But now that the game had become reality, there was a lot of knowledge that could be gleaned from this place.

So I wasn’t going to waste a single moment while I was here.

Still...

"It’s going to be a while until the school festival comes. Until that comes, there really isn’t anything I can do since they won’t let anyone into the hidden area." I couldn’t help saying with an internal sigh.

Looking at Nimue and Rania excitedly explaining what they had learned, there was a faint smile that appeared on my face.

"Well, it isn’t as if it’s a bad thing to enjoy this kind of slow life once in a while. It’ll be interesting to experience this kind of school life for a bit. It’s not as if there’s anything urgent going on anyway."
