Once all chains resolved, and just as Mash raised her shield, all of Hoshino's set cards were destroyed by Masked HERO Acid's effect. However, in reality, the impact on Hoshino was minimal.

As the battle phase continued, Jaden looked at Mash and hesitated to launch an attack.

"A form of Mash I've never seen before... As expected, this timeline's Sensei is a bit different—just like Yugi-san said."

This form of Mash had first appeared when Hoshino, in her "shota" duel mode, was under pressure from Noah and used a fusion of two Warrior-class Heroic Spirits to counter with a shield of reversal.

Thus, in this timeline where Hoshino had never fought the Doman battle, it was highly likely she had never summoned this Mash before.

"Mash Ortenaus's effect—when Fusion Summoned using Mash as a material, she can't be destroyed by battle or card effects. So even if you attack with all your HEROes this turn, you still won't be able to break through."

Just moments ago, Jaden had been struggling to break through Mash's defense—and now Hoshino had willingly sacrificed her?

Hoshino responded sincerely:

"If I just stalled behind Mash's defense, you'd find it boring, wouldn't you? Mash's protection is already engraved on my heart. And this is your final duel, where you're going all-out. How could I possibly go easy on you?"

Raising her Duel Disk, Formal Dress Sherlock Holmes triggered one final effect upon being sent to the Graveyard.

"I Special Summon in Defense Position—the Magical Girl… Holmes!"

As Hoshino slapped the Holmes card onto her Duel Disk once again, pale blue starlight gradually spread across her field. The returning Holmes no longer held a violin, but instead wielded the magical girl outfit—Sapphire.

The two beams merged into one. Lily Illya, wielding a golden holy sword, materialized and stepped onto the field.
