Hidden Desires - Family Secrets-Chapter 133 What exactly had they been up to? Part1
The sound of the door creaking open instantly pulled my gaze upward.
They were finally back.
The door swung open with a soft click, and immediately, the living room lights flickered on, casting a weak but glaring light through the windows onto the balcony.
Through the hazy glass, I peered into the living room.
I saw Michael bending over to change his shoes, with Betty following closely behind him.
After days of watching videos, I was finally meeting the "stars" of those clips in person.
They felt so familiar yet so strangely distant.
"Michael, did you leave the door unlocked again this morning? Just pushing it closed?" Betty’s voice was melodious as always, but it grated on my ears as she entered.
"No, I’m sure I locked it... turned the key twice," Michael responded, straightening up after slipping on his shoes.
"Why did my key turn the lock so easily then? Be more careful next time, don’t be so careless," Betty chided as she bent down to change her shoes.
Despite wearing a formal outfit, her bending posture revealed a generous expanse of pale cleavage, deep and enticing.
As she moved, her breasts swayed provocatively, catching Michael’s gaze as he stood facing her, clearly enjoying the view.
"Are you even listening to me?" Betty snapped, having received no response while she finished with her shoes.
Straightening up, she turned to lecture Michael, only to find him staring, almost drooling.
Betty’s cheeks flushed, realizing her accidental exposure had captivated him, causing his dumbstruck reaction.
"Ugh..." Betty spat softly, her face a mix of embarrassment and a shy smile.
This wasn’t the look of a mother scolding her child; it was more akin to playful banter between lovers.
"Hungry... hehe..." Michael finally snapped out of his daze at the sound of Betty’s voice.
He didn’t show any embarrassment, just a sly grin, his eyes still lingering with desire.
Watching this scene unfold, my heart ached even more.
Seeing it in person was entirely different from watching it on a screen.
"Alright, go study now..." Betty’s eyes softened as she watched Michael, but knowing the full story, I couldn’t tell if her tenderness was that of a mother’s love or a woman’s affection for her lover.

"Study tonight?" Michael sounded deflated, his demeanor somewhat listless, though his face still held a smile.
"Of course, remember what you promised mom..." Betty’s voice held a firm tone, which comforted me slightly.
At least she still used the word "mom" instead of replacing it with "wife."
"Aye aye, captain..." Michael saluted mockingly and stood at attention.
Betty couldn’t help but laugh at his antics.
Watching their cheerful interaction, my heart twisted in pain, knowing they had their little world while I had been living in turmoil.
The stark contrast deepened my sorrow.
I shook my head and forced a smile, wanting to cry but refusing to do so in front of my parents’ memorial.
Michael then retreated to his bedroom, and Betty, watching him go, shook her head with a smile.
Betty placed her bag on the sofa, stretched languidly in the living room, her curves on full display, and then headed to her bedroom.
Trapped on the balcony, I felt no sorrow; perhaps being caught by Betty was for the best.
If unnoticed, it would let me witness whatever was to unfold and finally let go completely.
After a short while, Betty emerged from her room, now clad in a nightgown that clung to her form, accentuating her breasts which quivered slightly with each step, restrained only by her bra.
Her nightgown covered most of her legs, leaving her slender calves exposed to the air.
The gown wasn’t overtly sexy, but on Betty, it radiated allure.
However, my observation was cut short as she turned off the living room lights, plunging the space back into darkness.
Using the faint light spilling from Michael’s room, I watched Betty make her way from the light switch towards the bedrooms—not towards ours, but towards Michael’s.
With a soft click, the door opened and Betty stepped inside.
The door didn’t shut completely; it bounced slightly off the frame and remained ajar.
The living room was now dark, save for the sliver of light escaping through the small glass pane in Michael’s door, casting a dim glow in the corner.
The house fell silent, and I couldn’t help but wonder what Betty and Michael were doing in that room.
Pressing my ear against the glass, I strained to hear, but the barrier muffled any sound.
Taking a deep breath, I turned to face the memorial of my parents, feeling as though their spirits were comforting me through gentle touches on my face.
Tears finally welled up in my eyes...
I knelt and bowed three times before the altar, then took the token from the shrine, wrapping it in my jacket.
I stood and opened the balcony door, not bothering to be stealthy.
At this point, I wasn’t concerned about Betty or Michael noticing me.
If they did, it might even be for the best—to lay everything out in the open.
The sound of the door didn’t seem to disturb anyone inside.
I stepped into the living room, breathing in the air that Betty had just left behind, her scent still lingering.
The path from the balcony to the front door inevitably led past our bedroom, the bathroom, and Michael’s room.
As I walked, a wave of weakness washed over me.
Reaching Michael’s door, I paused and turned to look.
Just as I suspected, the door was not fully closed, leaving a narrow gap.
Though small, it offered a clear view.
I saw Michael sitting at his desk, with Betty beside him on the bed, helping him with his homework.
Michael occasionally glanced at Betty, not always focusing on the books, which earned him playful punches from her.
They seemed genuinely happy, laughing and chatting as they studied.
This scene felt so alien to me.
"Did you have fun today?" Michael asked as he closed his book and began packing up, turning to Betty.
"Yeah, I really did..." Betty responded, her voice still carrying the remnants of her laughter.
"That’s great... hehe," Michael’s face lit up with excitement at her response.
I couldn’t understand why her simple affirmation would elicit such a reaction.
Watching his expression, it seemed he was thinking about something far more complex than Betty’s straightforward answer...
What exactly had they been up to?
A chill of suspicion ran through my cold heart...
