His Mistress is His Ex-Wife-Chapter 326: Your Father
When Athena was discharged from the hospital, they immediately went home. Vladimir and Enzo prepared a simple lunch gathering to welcome them.
"Brother-in-law, Lanny and I have registered our marriage. How about yours? Are you planning to do the wedding ceremony first?" Enzo asked Vladimir while preparing the table.
"I’m going to consult Athena to know her preference. But I can’t wait to marry her. I hope she will agree." Vladimir responded, his eyes gleaming with excitement.
Enzo smiled when he heard that. He could see that Vladimir was truly in love with his sister.
"But in order to marry her, my sister has to assume her identity as Sabrina Williams. You can’t marry her as Athena Ivankov. Otherwise, it will look like you are marrying your sister." Enzo reminded him.
Vladimir nodded in understanding. "It’s true... Whether she used Athena or Sabrina, she will always be the only woman I want to marry."
Enzo chuckled while giving him an approving look. "That’s good to hear. Please take good care of my sister. Don’t make her cry. We finally reclaimed our father’s company... so there is no need for my sister to hide her true identity. Besides, Dominique and my sister had already divorced."
Vladimir’s face turned grim at the mention of Dominique’s name. Because of him, he had more reason to marry Athena as soon as possible.
"I guess... I have to ask her if she is willing to register our marriage first," Vladimir said, feeling threatened by Dominique.
Dominique was Athena’s ex-husband and Aaron’s father. Vladimir was afraid that one day, Athena would decide to rekindle her relationship with Dominique. Being Aaron’s father was one of his advantages.
Meanwhile, Enzo seemed to read his mind, so he tapped Vladimir’s shoulder to comfort him.
"You don’t have to worry, Bro. My sister wants to have a fresh start with you and Aaron. She already chose you. Dominique will no longer stand a chance. He wasted his opportunity to be with her in the past."
Vladimir regained his confidence after hearing his words.
"Thanks, Enzo."
"Hey guys, what are you up to? Having a secret meeting here?" Lanny suddenly appeared in the dining area, interrupting the two.
Enzo let out a soft chuckle before pulling Lanny into a warm hug. "Hmm. We were just talking about our future. Where are the kids and my sister?"
"She is taking a quick shower while Kimmy and Aaron are playing in the room. Is our lunch ready?" Lanny asked, checking the food on the table.
"Yes. I’ll call them." Enzo volunteered.
When Enzo entered the room, Athena had just finished taking a bath.
"Sis, let’s go. Everyone is waiting in the dining area."
Athena seemed distracted as she didn’t pay attention to her brother. She was looking at the full-body mirror absentmindedly. She was still bothered by Sasha’s revelation.
Sensing that something was off with his sister, Enzo moved closer to tap her back.
"Sis? Are you okay? Do you still feel unwell? You are spacing out."
Snapping out of her deep thought, Athena turned to look at him. Her eyes got misty as she met her brother’s gaze. She was contemplating whether to tell him what Sasha had told her or not.
Without saying a word, Athena hugged Enzo, burying her face on his chest while letting her tears fall from the corners of her eyes.
"Hey, Sis, what’s wrong?" He asked her worriedly, gently rubbing her back.
Athena shook her head and responded, "Nothing. I’m just getting emotional about everything that happened over the past few days. I thought I was going to die without seeing you."
Enzo took a deep sigh. "Don’t worry, Sis. We will protect. This won’t happen again. I promise."
"Brother..." she paused as she raised her head to look at him.
"Yes, Sis?" He gently wiped her tears as he cupped her face.
"Our father is not a bad person, right?" She asked for his affirmation.
Enzo was taken aback for a moment, unable to respond right away. He wanted to agree with her; however, for some unknown reason, his words were caught in his throat. He couldn’t say it.
Enzo was reminded of Dominique’s story. He secretly investigated what happened to Dominique’s family. With the result of his investigation in Bozton City, his father was likely involved in the crime.
’Damn it! How can I tell the truth to her? It will break her heart completely. I have to keep this from her.’
"Why are you suddenly asking me this, Sabby? Of course, our father is a good man. Do you miss him?" Enzo said calmly, trying to hide his real thoughts.
Athena could only bob her head. She couldn’t understand why her brother hesitated before answering her. Did he know something?
"Bro... I–"
"Mommy!" Aaron’s bubbly voice was heard from behind.
Enzo and Athena shifted their attention to the young boy.
"Son, come here." Athena crouched down as she opened her arms.
Aaron quickly ran to her, embracing her.
"Mommy, I love you sooo much," Aaron said affectionately.
Athena smiled at him while Enzo ruffled his hair. His nephew was very thoughtful and sweet toward his mother.
"Son," Athena cupped his small face. "I think... this is the right time for you to know who your biological father is."
Both Aaron and Enzo were surprised at her last remarks. This was the first time she brought this topic up in front of Aaron.
"Are you sure about this, Sis?" Enzo asked her in disbelief.
Athena nodded in response. "Yes, brother. My son has the right to know... I will not stop him from meeting his father."
Meanwhile, Aaron looked at his mother with complicated emotions.
"Mom... I thought you didn’t want me to know my father’s identity because you hated him. Why are you willing to tell me now?" he asked her with his curious gaze.
Athena gently caressed his cheeks and replied, "Because I realized... that your father loves you for real. I was wrong to judge him. He had never wanted to harm you."
Aaron felt emotional when he heard those words from his mother. "Is it true? My father loves me, Mom?"
Athena nodded with a warm smile. "Yes. He cares about you. He loves you."
A gleam of happiness sparkled in his eyes. "Tell me, Mom. Who is my father? Where is he? Can we meet him?"
"My son... you’ve already met your father. Dominique Smith... he is your biological father."
Aaron: *....*
