His Mistress is His Ex-Wife-Chapter 334: Relive Their Past
"Where’s Aaron?" Miguel asked Dominique the moment he saw him walking downstairs.
"His uncle fetched him this morning," he replied.
Don Miguel just nodded, hiding his disappointment. Deep down, he wanted to keep Aaron in the mansion. He never wanted to return him to Sabrina.
"Have you caught him?" Dominique asked, changing the topic.
He was referring to the gang leader who kidnapped him and Sabrina. This person was also related to his tragic past.
"My men are still tracking him. You don’t have to worry, Dom. We will catch him in no time," Miguel Ivankov said, reassuring him.
Dominique gave him a grateful look. That person was the only person left unpunished. He had to taste his revenge for killing his family.
"Dad, I’m heading out. I won’t be returning in a while. Just call me if you have some updates about the man I want to capture."
Dominique decided to leave Don Miguel’s villa. He couldn’t spend time with Sabrina if he continued to stay there.
"Sure. Leave this task to me. You know that I have never failed you before," Miguel said meaningfully.
He deliberately reminded Dominique that he was the one who supported and assisted him with his revenge.
"I understand, Dad," Dominique responded, concealing his conflicting emotions.
He was aware of the animosity Miguel had toward Sabrina.
’He doesn’t like Sabrina because Vladimir disobeyed him and rebelled against him to fight for his love.’
For some unknown reason, Dominique started to envy Vladimir for his bravery. He defied his father just to prove how much he loved his woman. He was willing to sacrifice everything just to be with her. It was something he failed to do.
’I think... Vladimir might be the person for her. He is someone who will never hurt Sabrina. He will always put her first... unlike me. I chose revenge over her... I chose my family over her. And now, I regret everything.’
Taking a deep sigh, Dominique picked up his phone, sending a message to Sabrina.
[ Let’s meet today. Here’s the location. ]
An hour later...
Sabrina found herself standing at the front door of the Happy Store. This place contained precious memories she had with Dominique.
’Why did he ask me to meet here? To reminisce about our past?’
Sabrina watched the store absentmindedly. Her heart was pounding so hard against her chest. She still didn’t know how to face Dominique... especially now that she had learned the truth about his tragic past.
Clenching her fists tightly, Sabrina mustered up her courage to step inside the store. The first thing that greeted her sight was Dominique’s charming smile. He was sitting at the corner table, waving at her.
Her heart raced even faster when her eyes met his gaze.
’Damn it! I don’t think I can do this...’
At that certain moment, Sabrina felt the urge to run away. She wasn’t ready to face Dominique yet.
She turned around, getting ready to flee. However, Dominique hastily stood up, chasing after her.
She had just stepped out of the store when Dominique grabbed her hand, stopping her from taking another step.
"Sab," he called out desperately. "Don’t leave... You promised me... remember? Can you please endure it... for just two weeks?"
Sabrina slammed her eyes shut, fighting the urge to shed some tears. She didn’t want to cry in front of him. She didn’t want him to know that she already knew the truth behind his family’s death.
’Just act natural, Sab...’ she told herself.
Sighing deeply, Sabrina turned around to face Dominique. She masked her true emotions with a smile.
"Don’t overthink, Dom. I just forgot something in my car," she said as an alibi.
But Dominique continued holding her hand, afraid to let her go.
"Let me accompany you, then."
Sabrina could only sigh helplessly. "Fine. Let’s forget about it and just go back inside."
Sabrina took the initiative to pull his hand, guiding him back inside the Happy store.
They were the only customers at this hour. It turned out Dominique booked the whole store just for today.
"It’s a date," he said casually.
His words reminded Sabrina that this was the first place where Dominique brought her during their first date as a couple.
She just nodded quietly, looking down. She couldn’t stare into his eyes without feeling the guilt inside her heart.
’How could he still smile like that... while looking at me?’ She clenched her fists under the table.
Meanwhile, Dominique had already taken his order– vanilla ice cream.
"Here, your favorite," Dominique said cheerfully as he handed the large cone of vanilla ice cream to her.
Her heart constricted once more as her eyes stared at the ice cream. He still remembered everything about her– her favorite food... her favorite place... and....
’Him... he was my favorite man in my life.’ Sabrina added in her thoughts.
Sabrina could no longer hold back her tears. They started to fall from the corners of her eyes.
The smile on Dominique’s face faded instantly upon seeing her tears.
"I’m sorry, Sab... I didn’t mean to make you cry. Did I open some bad memories by bringing you back here? I’m really sorry. It is just my wishful thinking to relive our past memories... when we were still a happy couple... a couple who love each other."
Dominique apologized multiple times as he wiped her tears, his fingers gently brushing her cheeks.
Her guilt intensified further when she heard his words. She shook her head frantically and said, "No. It’s not your fault, Dom. Don’t apologize to me..."
’I should be the one apologizing to you... on my father’s behalf,’ she thought inwardly.
"We can leave here if you feel uncomfortable," Dominique said, thinking about her feelings. He didn’t want to make her feel sad.
"It’s okay. I’m just fine." Sabrina quickly gathered her emotions as she didn’t want to spoil the things between them right now.
’I’m here to fulfill his request. If he wants to relive our past, then I’m willing to do it for him.’
Sabrina put on a faint smile before taking the ice cream cone from Dominique’s hand. She began licking the ice cream, trying her best to control her negative emotions.
Seeing her back to herself, Dominique felt relieved.
’I’m truly selfish. I am enjoying this simple moment with her. And I don’t want this to end.’ Dominique focused his attention on Sabrina, just quietly staring at her.
After a while, his hand reached out to wipe the spilled ice cream from the corner of her lips. Then, almost instinctively, he brought his finger to his own lips and licked it.
Sabrina’s heart skipped a beat at the sight of Dominique’s actions. A blush unconsciously crept onto her cheeks as her gaze fell upon his lips.
For a reason, she just felt the urge to kiss him.
Sensing her intense gaze, Dominique glanced at her. With eyes filled with longing, he slowly leaned closer to her, bringing his face to hers... until they were only a few centimeters away from each other.
"Sab... let me kiss you..." Dominique asked for her permission first.
Sabrina nodded absentmindedly in response to him. Before she knew it, Dominique had already made a move, pressing his lips against hers.
