His Mute Wife: He Can't Sleep After She Left-Chapter 167: He Began to Doubt His Own Love
Ethan Sinclair had no interest in dealing with Quinn Sinclair at the moment. Quinn could see that, so he quickly found an excuse and slipped away.
Connor Grant saw Ethan standing at the door, unmoving, so he carefully reminded him, "Fifth Master, Young Madam..."
Suddenly, Ethan’s phone rang. A business partner was calling, wondering where he was, since he hadn’t shown up for a while.
"On my way."
After he hung up, Ethan glanced at Connor Grant, his tone indifferent. "In a bit, you’ll take Kiana home."
"Uh..."
Connor was a bit baffled. At a time like this, the Fifth Master wasn’t going in to find the Young Madam?
"What? You got a problem?"
"N-no... No problem."
Watching Ethan walk off, Connor curled his lip and muttered under his breath—looking at the Fifth Master like this, if the Young Madam still stayed by his side, it must only be because she loves him.
Kiana had thought that, based on Ethan’s temper, even if she didn’t leave with Miles Goodman today, he wouldn’t let her off lightly.
She hadn’t expected that Ethan would just leave.
As she relaxed a little, she couldn’t help feeling a bit disappointed too.
Maybe he was so sure she wouldn’t leave him that’s why he could act so brazenly.
Or maybe, since she didn’t leave and he didn’t get his way about her asking for a divorce, he was so pissed he didn’t even want to see her.
As soon as Kiana got back to The Montpellier Estates, Quinn’s voice message came through.
"Sis, sis, are you okay? Did my brother bully you?"
"No."
"Really?"
"Yeah, I didn’t even see him."
"...How could that be? He didn’t wait for you to come out? Where’d he go?"
"Connor said he went out for drinks."
Quinn was floored. His brother’s wife had almost been taken away by someone else, but his brother still had the mood to go socialize?
After thinking a bit, Quinn said, "Sis, the fact that you didn’t leave my brother—well, I have mixed feelings. I’m happy you’re still my sister-in-law, but I’m worried my brother might let you down. But... as long as you still love him, we’ll find a way to win my brother over!"
Kiana let out a soft sigh. "We’ve already tried everything before, didn’t we? None of it worked."
"Who said it didn’t? Let me tell you, even though my brother was generous enough to give you and Miles three minutes to talk, he stood outside the door the whole time. I could tell he was actually pretty scared you’d leave with Miles."
"...No way."
"Speaking of knowing my brother for over twenty years, if he didn’t care about you, he wouldn’t give a damn who you left with. Why would he stand there waiting for you to make a choice?"
"Wasn’t he just waiting for me to leave with Miles, so he could immediately tell Grandma and bring up the divorce? Then he’d go marry Kate Lynch?"
Okay, not impossible!
But since Quinn had taken up the flag of supporting his brother and sister-in-law, there was no way he’d say anything that’d make Kiana sad.
"Based on my observation, that’s not it! Anyway, it’s late. Don’t overthink it. Leave the rest to me!"
"Um? What are you planning?"
Quinn sent Kiana a sticker that basically said, "Just relax and sleep, I’ve got it all covered."
Kiana: "..."
Every time Quinn got involved, she got into more trouble. How could she relax now?
She’d just finished chatting with Quinn when Joy Morgan messaged her on WeChat.
"Baby Kiana, are you asleep?"
"Not yet."
"How’s it going with you and your man?"
"...Not great!"
"What’s wrong? You guys fought?"
Kiana was feeling annoyed, so she told Joy everything that happened today. After hearing everything, Joy got excited. "I think you’ve got a chance!"
"What makes you think that?"
"Think about it—the two of you have been married three years, and you could probably count on one hand the number of times Ethan’s come home. Now, he actually gave you a choice, AND waited outside for so long. What does that mean? It means you’re different to him!"
Quinn and Joy said pretty much the same thing, which left Kiana a bit unsure.
"So what should I do?" 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
"What else? Pursue him!"
"Pursue?"
"Yeah. Normally people date before they get married. But you and Ethan got married practically right after meeting, so there wasn’t a foundation of love. And love isn’t something that comes from just waiting around—it takes being proactive."
Joy paused, then sent another WeChat, "Here’s what—we’ll start small. I’ll send you the ’108 Flirting Moves’. Just follow the list. As long as Ethan’s a normal guy, you’ll definitely win him over!"
Joy’s actions were fast. As soon as Kiana received the file, she opened it up. The first dozen or so moves were normal enough—like inviting him to see a movie, bringing a cute lunch, that kind of thing...
But as she kept reading, her face got redder and her heart beat faster. She wasn’t sure if Ethan would be moved, but she knew for sure she couldn’t do half of this stuff.
But then again, she’d managed to do the hardest thing—fall in love with Ethan—so what were these little things, right?
Meanwhile, after Ethan finished socializing, he didn’t go home, but instead met up with Julian Garrison, Gavin Hale, and Simon Ives at a bar.
Julian didn’t lack money. If he wanted to film, he filmed. If he didn’t, he just played. Acting and singing were purely for fun for him.
Gavin was also a regular at bars and clubs, and this was prime time for his nightlife to begin.
Only Simon, whose health wasn’t great, rarely went out this late.
When Julian saw Simon, he teased with a laugh, "Only Ian can get Young Master Ives to come out to a bar this late!"
Simon shot Julian a cold glance, "When you got dumped at fifteen, wasn’t I there with you?"
Julian: "..."
Gavin couldn’t help but snicker, "Wow, Young Master Garrison didn’t start dating until fifteen? How pure!"
Julian kicked Gavin. "Screw you. Did you think I was like you, shamelessly holding little girls’ hands back in kindergarten?"
After the three of them had joked around, they all looked over at Ethan, who was sitting to the side drinking in silence, and then exchanged glances.
Julian lowered his voice, "Hey, do either of you know what’s up with Ian tonight?"
Simon and Gavin both shook their heads.
Julian took his glass and sat next to Ethan, asking for trouble, "Which idiot pissed off our Fifth Master Sinclair? Come on, spill it. Let us have a little fun at your expense!"
Ethan shot Julian a frosty glare and downed his glass of red wine in one go.
"Tsk tsk, you’re drinking a bottle of wine that costs tens of thousands each—what a waste!"
After several drinks, Ethan started feeling tipsy. He looked at the three of them with a calm expression, "Let me ask you guys something. How do you tell you’ve fallen for someone?"
The three of them: "..."
They’d thought Ethan had called them out so late and looked so serious, it must be something world-shattering. They hadn’t expected it to be this.
But wait a second—wasn’t the person Ethan loved supposed to be Kate Lynch?
Why would he suddenly ask something like this?
Could it be... he was starting to question his own feelings?
