His Mute Wife: He Can't Sleep After She Left-Chapter 8: Can’t Stand the Loneliness Already
Ethan Sinclair squinted his eyes slightly, tapping the armrest of the sofa from time to time. "Oh? How did you hit her?"
"I punched her, pinched her soft flesh, and kicked her stomach and thighs with my foot."
The other servants, seeing that Ethan was not angry, immediately started speaking all at once.
"Sir, last night Kiana Sutton refused to eat, so I held her down and forced her to eat."
"And me, I held her shoulders and even kneed her in the back."
"I...I...I stuffed the dried longan and red dates into her mouth!"
The servants hadn’t realized the seriousness of the situation yet. They thought the more they bullied Kiana, the more rewards they would receive, regretting not having abused her more yesterday.
Ethan casually stretched out his hand, and the servants immediately stopped talking, looking at him expectantly and excitedly.
Then Ethan suddenly smiled.
Ethan seldom smiled, but when he did, it was as charming as it could get, making anyone, regardless of age or gender, fall for it.
Some of the servants were still dreaming of becoming Mrs. Sinclair, when they heard Ethan say, "Great, you all did a good job."
"Sir, this is what we should do, if it weren’t for..."
Ethan didn’t want to hear their nonsense, turning his head to glance at Connor Grant.
Connor, already fuming at the servants’ words, stepped forward and dislocated the arms of the slightly chubby servant.
"Ah..."
The spacious living room was instantly filled with the servant’s pig-like screams, scaring everyone else.
One by one, their legs became weak, and seeing Ethan get up, they backed away in fright.
What’s going on? Wasn’t there supposed to be a reward?
Ethan’s cold and sharp eyes scanned everyone, his voice so icy it made their teeth chatter, "Even if Kiana Sutton is not favored, she is still my wife, Ethan Sinclair’s wife. When you hit a dog, you have to consider its owner. What are you, to dare to touch her?"
Ethan was known as the King of Hell in the business world, decisive and ruthless.
But in life, except for being a bit aloof, he never showed his displeasure to the servants.
Little did he expect these people had the audacity to abuse Kiana Sutton right in his house!!!
"Sir, we were wrong, we dare not do it again!"
Looking at the servants kneeling and begging for mercy, Ethan sneered, "Since you dared to touch my people, you should be prepared to pay the price. Connor, take them away, and don’t dirty this place."
...
Kiana Sutton lay in the hospital for three days. When she first woke up, she thought she was dead, then realized it was Ethan Sinclair who had brought her here.
However, during her three days of hospitalization, Ethan did not visit even once, as if she did not exist to him.
Kiana couldn’t help but wonder, if she had died, would Ethan hate her less, would he be a bit happier?
The doctors and nurses repeatedly asked Kiana if she needed help to report to the police, but Kiana was touched yet smiled and refused, repeatedly stating that her injuries were not caused by domestic violence.
Kiana Sutton was beautiful and cute, with a gentle personality that made everyone’s heart melt when she smiled. Everyone liked her.
Even some male doctors couldn’t help but smile whenever they saw Kiana’s smile.
Who could resist a sweet girl?
The Sinclair Matriarch eventually learned about Kiana’s hospitalization and berated Ethan, demanding that he take Kiana home tonight.
In this world, everyone had to mind Ethan’s mood, except for one person—Old Mrs. Sinclair, whom Ethan himself had to consider.
Knowing he couldn’t avoid it, Ethan went to the hospital.
Even before entering the ward, he saw a male doctor telling jokes inside, with Kiana’s bright doe-like eyes fixed on him, her smile brimming with joy.
Ethan’s handsome face instantly turned cold, and a fierce aura erupted around him.
Inside the ward, Kiana seemed to sense an angry coldness, her body involuntarily shivering, her heart skipping a beat.
She reflexively looked toward the door but saw nothing.
Lowering her gaze, she hid her sorrow deep in her eyes.
When she was first hospitalized, Ethan didn’t come to see her. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
Now, as she was almost recovered, Ethan was even less likely to come.
"Hey, hey, hey, why are you upset again? At your current health status, you need to maintain adequate nutrition and keep a happy mood. Otherwise, if you bottle it up, it’ll only get worse."
"Yes, Miss Sutton, you look so lovely and healing when you smile. You must smile more. Seeing your smile, even when we’re tired, we feel energized."
There was not just one male doctor, but also a female nurse in the ward.
However, the nurse was standing in a corner that couldn’t be seen from the doorway.
During her stay, everyone knew Kiana was mute, had no visitors, and was always gentle and kind, making everyone fond of and willing to take care of her.
Kiana gestured to express her gratitude.
Before long, Connor Grant came to discharge Kiana.
When Kiana left the hospital, everyone was reluctant, afraid she might get bullied again, repeatedly reminding her that as a modern woman, she shouldn’t endure in silence, as there are plenty of good men in the world.
If you leave this one, the next one might be better.
Kiana thought, fortunately, Ethan wasn’t here. Otherwise, who knows what he would think hearing these words?
The car was parked at the hospital entrance, and after Connor opened the back door for her, Kiana nodded in thanks. As soon as she got in, she saw Ethan’s cold, rigid profile, and his tightly pressed lips.
Kiana’s breath caught, her body tensing up.
Ethan Sinclair...
Why is he here to pick her up?
Connor had already shut the car door, and hearing the door close, Kiana’s heart trembled fiercely.
She suddenly felt the space shrinking, and the air becoming unbearably thin.
As the car slowly started, Kiana noticed Ethan reading a document, not even glancing at her, making her afraid to disturb him, deciding to keep silent.
The car was silent enough to hear a pin drop, and as Ethan noticed Kiana’s complete stillness, his inner fury grew more intense.
In a low, ice-cold voice laced with merciless mockery, he spoke, "A mute who can’t speak but sure knows how to seduce. Can’t bear the loneliness, can you?"
Kiana sharply turned to look at Ethan.
Was Ethan actually saying this about her?
She indeed couldn’t speak, but when did she seduce anyone? When did she ever show she couldn’t bear the loneliness?
Noticing Kiana was staring at him but didn’t bother to explain herself with gestures, Ethan closed his file with a snap, turning to look at Kiana coldly.
Her bright doe eyes were filled with confusion and bewilderment, as if she didn’t understand what he meant.
Kiana was pure and beautiful, with rosy lips and white teeth, a face not like the trendy sharp-chinned ones, but slightly rounded, making her look cute and harmless, with the ability to stir sympathy.
No wonder the male nurses at the hospital were smitten with her!
"Kiana Sutton, remember this: although I married you out of necessity and I do not love you, since you are my wife, you better behave. If I find out you’ve cheated on me, or even thought about it, I’ll make sure you die a horrible death!"
