His soul-Chapter 555: Heart to heart
Dozens of men dressed in black immediately bowed their heads when Massimo arrived, along with Julian who forced Massimo to come to the hospital where his men took two teenagers who were found shot at the headquarters of the thugs who helped Diego.
"Sir." Martin, who was standing in the mirror immediately greeted Massimo and Julian who had just arrived.
"Are you sure the two teenagers know Diego?" asked Massimo matter-of-factly.
"The two teenagers were found at Tony’s headquarters, the local thugs caught on CCTV were talking to Diego in two different places, sir. Tony, who we almost caught, gave up resistance, because of that our men were forced to take decisive action which resulted in Tony’s death and in the end. When they arrived at Tony’s headquarters the place was already in disarray. Near the bodies of the two young men who were shot there were scattered hundred dollar bills, it is very likely that both youths were injured as a result of holding Diego who wanted to run away with the money after learning of Tony’s death, " Martin answered quietly, explaining everything to Massimo and Julian who had not spoken for a long time.
Massimo nodded his head slowly. "That makes sense, your explanation is well-founded. Diego, who is so cunning that he would have preferred to run away to save himself with the money as soon as his co-worker died, hmm... the pursuit feels even more challenging now."
"Massimo." Julian joined in. "Don’t play games, solve this problem quickly. Daddy can’t calm down if Diego hasn’t been caught."
"Don’t worry, Dad. Diego won’t be able to escape my pursuit for too long. As long as he’s still in town, I’ll find him easily," Massimo answered quietly.
"Daddy just wants Diego to be held accountable for his actions, my Mom and Dad won’t be calm up there if Diego hasn’t been caught."
Massimo put his hand on Julian’s shoulder and squeezed it gently. "I promise to catch Diego as soon as possible."
Julian nodded slowly, trying to cover up the slight disappointment that Massimo had managed to read. Through a non-verbal code, Massimo ordered Martin to return to pursuing Diego. Massimo didn’t want to make his father-in-law wait too long, even though Julian didn’t speak, Massimo knew that Julian really wanted the killers of his parents to be punished for his actions.
Since morning was almost here, Massimo then invited his father-in-law to come home. Given the history of his father-in-law’s illness, Massimo must pay close attention to his father-in-law’s condition so that he does not fall ill.
"What are you thinking, Dad?" asked Massimo quietly, breaking the silence in Massimo’s beloved Range Rover that Pablo was driving.
Julian took a deep breath. "Regret."
"Regret?" Massimo repeated his father-in-law’s words in confusion.
"Yes, regret. If I had known that all of this would happen at that time I would have preferred to disobey and go against my father’s orders to marry Vanessa, if I had known that the child he was carrying at that time would be the cause of the killing of my parents, I certainly would have choose to go back to Sandra and take care of Gina together at this time," said Julian hoarsely. "If I had known the child I raised so lovingly would steal my family’s inheritance I would definitely have asked Vanessa to leave him at his family home."
Massimo thinned his lips. "If at that time you hadn’t left Gina and her mother, I probably wouldn’t have been able to marry Gina at that time, I’m pretty sure you would have forbade Gina to have a relationship with me from the start, right?"
A smile crossed Julian’s face. "Of course, no parent would want their daughter to be married off to a mob jerk like you."
Massimo laughed loudly at his father-in-law’s words, although his father-in-law’s words were quite harsh, Massimo was not offended in the slightest.
"Better to be a jerk before marriage, Dad. Then to be a jerk after marriage," said Massimo quickly defensively.
Julian suddenly looked at Massimo seriously, the last words his son-in-law had just spoken reminded him of what Gina had said two months ago when she had a therapy session with Doctor Dorothea.
Feeling that he was being watched, Massimo then stopped laughing.
"There’s something Daddy wants to confirm with you, Massimo," said Julian seriously.
One of Massimo’s eyebrows rose. "Confirming something?"
"Yeah, it’s about Gina’s confession two months ago."
Instantly Massimo changed his sitting position. "Gina’s confession two months ago?"
"When Gina underwent a therapy session with doctor Dorothea, we all finally knew that Gina had a very big wound inside her and the cause of that wound was Daddy, the person who should make her happy. A girl who never felt the love of her biological father, who should be her first love. And that’s why during your separation Daddy really focused on taking care of Gina and entrusting all office work to Diego, even though at that time Daddy already had suspicions on Diego but Daddy still pretended not to know and chose to keep an eye on him in silence." Julian began to talk at length.
"At that time Daddy was very grateful to God for being given the opportunity to take care of Gina even though everything Daddy did at that time could not pay for all the time that Daddy had spent taking care of Gina since she was little... and in one of the therapies that Gina did with doctor Dorothea at that time, Gina had said that she was sorry and felt guilty for disobeying your orders, a man who had been so loyal to her. Honestly, Daddy felt a little disturbed by Gina’s words. Because as Daddy and everyone knows, Massimo del Cano is a real playboy. So it seems impossible for a Massimo to be loyal to one woman, therefore Daddy wants to confirm directly with you. Was what Gina said true at that time?"
Massimo smiled faintly. "I saw the therapy session too..." 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
"What?! How come?"
Massimo cleared his throat quietly. "I think Daddy should know and it’s about time Daddy knows."
"Wait, is there something you and Gina are keeping from Daddy?" guessed Julian quickly.
"It’s not just me and Gina, Rosa is also involved in this," Massimo replied with a smile.
"Rosa? Rosaline, my youngest?" shouted Julian loudly.
Massimo nodded slowly.
The impatient Julian immediately grabbed Massimo’s hand tightly. "Say it clearly, Daddy doesn’t understand!"
Because he had already opened up his little secret with the three women who had helped him to make up with Gina. After taking a deep breath, Massimo finally recounted all the efforts he had made to get back to Gina, starting from his accidental meeting with Doctor Dorothea and Doctor Olivia in front of the Sanders family residence three weeks ago when he had just returned from Los Angeles. As Massimo spoke, Julian kept shaking his head. He really didn’t expect that the youngest daughter and the two specialist doctors he had asked to treat Gina with such care had actually helped Massimo to get Gina’s forgiveness.
"How could they cheat on me, this can’t be allowed," said Julian, his voice rising two octaves.
Massimo immediately grabbed Julian’s hand again. "No! Not Dad, it’s not their fault. It’s purely my fault for forcing those two kind doctors to help me get back to Gina, if Daddy wants to be angry, just be angry with me. The only person who deserves Daddy’s anger is me."
Julian smiled faintly, so faint it was impossible for Massimo to notice. "Daddy will consider what you say, but later after you’ve answered Daddy’s previous questions."
Massimo tilted his head. "Which question?"
"What Gina said at the therapy session with Doctor Dorothea."
Massimo narrowed his eyes even more, he didn’t understand where his father-in-law’s talk which now seemed softer to him.
Julian took a deep breath. "About Gina’s words saying that she regrets disobeying your orders, a man who has been very loyal to her. Considering what you’ve done so far, it’s impossible for you to be loyal, especially to Gina, whom you just met."
Massimo smiled when he understood where his father-in-law was talking, his brain replayed the video of Gina’s therapy that Dorothea had shown a few weeks ago.
"Massimo..." Julian growled impatiently.
"During my separation from Gina five years ago, when I made a big mistake for the first time until you finally hid Gina from me. During those five years I punished myself by not touching any woman," Massimo said quietly. "For five years I suppressed my desire to make love to anyone, as penance for my sins to Gina. Of course people will not believe what I say, but for God’s sake I really did that. Enduring the aches and pains almost every night I lived for almost five years even though sometimes I couldn’t stand it, until I finally finished it myself in the bathroom."
Julian blinked his eyes at Massimo’s words. "You’re joking, right?"
Massimo smiled a little. "Just like Gina, at that time Gina also didn’t believe my confession. But honestly that’s what happened, I really didn’t make love to any woman after marrying Gina until now, even when she is pregnant right now I don’t have the slightest intention to touch another woman. It may sound silly but here I am, I also don’t know why I am like this. It seems God has made me only able to make love with Gina, not with other women."
Julian smiled, he slowly put his hand on Massimo’s shoulder. "You really love Gina, don’t you?"
