To say she was shocked was an understatement. Arissa wasn’t able to express how she felt listening to Nicklaus. She felt honored to be someone he could love.

What stunned her the most was the fact he had tears at the corner of his eyes. She gently raised her hand to his face and touched his tears.

Her heart skipped a beat when she felt those warm liquids. Today held so many surprises and his tears were among them. She would never have guessed he could be a softie.

Arissa dropped soft pats on his head when she felt him finally let go of his tears and let them fall on her shoulders. Her mind flashed to what Mrs. Wyatt told him about his mother and she understood why he could be crying.

"I’m here, Nick," she whispered into his ear, "I won’t leave and I’ll make sure you have a reason to be happy again each second of your life,"

Nicklaus nodded from her neck. He planted a deep kiss on her neck and stood straight before her.

Arissa gave him a radiant smile, "This is an impressive arrangement, thank you so much," she admired, turning away from him.

She stepped away from him, stood for a moment, and began to feel the freshly scented roses.

Nicklaus’s eyes followed Arissa’s every move like a hawk. He watched her run her hands through the roses with a wide smile on her face.

While she felt the roses, he sneaked up behind her and picked up the tiny box he arranged inside one of the vases.

Getting the box, he took in a deep breath and stared deep at it before lifting his face to Arissa’s back. He watched her admire the flowers and then, he picked up courage.

He walked away from the vase and stood three steps away from her. He cleared his throat, "Arissa,"

"Huh?" she answered sweetly.

Turning to face her husband, she was taken aback when she saw Nicklaus on one knee. Her lips parted in shock when she saw him hold out a gorgeous diamond ring and stare at her with glee in her eyes.

"W_what?" she stammered, "This can’t be what it means," she met Nicklaus’s eyes, "What does this mean, Nicklaus?"

"It is what it means, Love," he said.

Arissa’s hands flew to her mouth to stop herself from screaming out loud. Her eyelids trembled and tears filled her eyes. She shocked her head repeatedly in denials.

"Marry me, Arissa," Nicklaus said with a sexy smolder.

Arissa chuckled, "We’re already married, Nick," she reasoned with her voice barely a whisper. She sounded like she was making a happy chant.

Nicklaus smiled, "Of course we are but I do not want this kind of marriage. I don’t want us to be bonded for a contract’s sake. I want us to have a real marriage just the way you want it,",

Arissa’s heartbeat fastened, and she slowly took her hands off her lips. "How about the higher-ups and your company? You know you can’t terminate the contract as you wish," she reminded.

"They don’t mean anything to me as much as you do. Forget about everything and everyone and be mine," he stood straight and kissed her on the lips.

The kiss was slow and convincing and Arissa shut her eyes as she enjoyed the kiss forgetting everything. Her mind wandered about and she realised the kind of selfless person she had always been. His company and the higher-ups kept on ringing in her mind but as she had promised herself, she decided to let go of that thought and fight for their love.

Nicklaus pulled away from the kiss, "Be mine, Arissa,"

Galaxies flashed across Arissa’s eyes and with tears rolling down, she accepted, "I’m yours, I’m yours,"

"I’m yours!!!" she repeated screaming.

Nicklaus immediately pulled her into a tight hug. He kissed her head repeatedly and held her firmly as if he was scared of losing her - which he was.

Arissa laughed with him and wrapped her hands around him, "And you’re mine, I won’t share, Nick," she told him. Her voice sounded serious.

Nicklaus chuckled, "Of course, I am all yours. I would never give you a reason to think I’m being shared with you,"

Arissa thinned her lips and pulled away from the hug. She stretched her hand out to Nicklaus and he gently took her hand in his. Slowly, he gently inserted the ring into her finger.

His eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at the ring he secretly got for her finally worn by her. Arissa admired the ring on her finger.

"It’s beautiful," she breathed.

"I’m glad you like it," he sounded relief.

Arissa smiled and darted her eyes back to him, "How were you able to get my exact size?" she asked, surprised.

"It seems you still underestimate the power you have over me. I have every inch of your skin engraved deep in my heart," he snaked his arm around her, "I’m so excited to see you putting that ring on,"

Arissa’s eyes were filled with desire as she stared at Nicklaus sweetly. She blushed and looked away from him.

Nicklaus read the desires in her heart and called her out for it, "Do you want to see what we have in the bedroom?"

Arissa licked in her lower lip, ready for more surprises, "I do,"
