His Toxic Addiction-Chapter 341: Nepo Baby.
Chapter 341: Nepo Baby.
"If in case we have kids now, what would you decide to name them?" she asked, changing the topic to something happier.
She can’t tell him in detail about her nightmare, at least not now.
"Huh?" Nicklaus sounded confused, "Was this the reason you cried?" he wouldn’t be convinced if she said yes to this.
Arissa read his eyes and understood he felt her uneasiness. Raising her face fully to his view, she relaxed on his arm and flashed him a bright smile.
"This wasn’t the reason why I cried but I wanted this to be a reason why I should laugh at this moment,"
Nicklaus stared at her, "Really?" his voice sounded firm. He felt as if she was trying to hide something from him and he does not like the thought of that.
"Not really but I do not want to speak about why I cried at this moment," she came out clean, and added, "... I’ll only end up crying again,"
At the thought of her crying, Nicklaus nodded and decided to let her be at the moment. He decided to ask her hours later.
"If we have kids now, I’ll go all out for Hebrew names," he replied to her.
Arissa was stunned, "Hebrew?" she hadn’t seen any non-Hew Hebrew in love with the language or name.
"Yes, Hebrew," Nicklaus rubbed the tip of her nose, "It’s fine if you don’t want Hebrew names,"
"Hebrew names are okay, but why Hebrew?" she asked thoughtfully.
Nicklaus stared at her chest and drew the duvet up to her chest level before replying, "They are unique."
"I think so," Arissa agreed after a short pause and the smile on her face fell. This time, her sadness reached her eyes.
"What_"
"Your mother," she cut him off, "Can I ask you something about her?"
Nicklaus did not reply immediately. He fixed his eyes on her delicate arm and after what seemed like forever, he rubbed gently on her arm.
"You can," he permitted and kissed the side of her head, "But please know when to stop," he wasn’t embarrassed to admit that experience still terrified him.
Arissa nodded.
"Have you forgiven your mother? And if you haven’t, would you ever forgive her?" she questioned carefully.
Nicklaus’s lips curled into a smile that surprised Arissa. The smile was so fake that it remained frozen on his lips, looking all rigid.
Arissa ran her thumb across his lips. She stretched the sides of his lips and patted softly on it to lighten him up.
Nicklaus caught hold of her wrist and interlocked their fingers together beautifully. The sight of her small hand buried into his larger ones made him feel like an Alpha male and he loved the feeling. The feeling was equal to that untouchable feeling and it hyped him up and gave him more assurance that no one would ever be able to hurt her as long as he still breathes.
He met Arissa’s eyes, "I can’t reply to that, Love." he gave her honest feedback and Arissa’s heart melted in admiration for him.
He wasn’t holding back from showing how much he trusted her by showing her his vulnerable sides.
Arissa was moved to let him know about the dream. Every fiber in her dared her to trust him even with the dream but she refused to and kept a bright expression, trying to be all excited.
The room fell into a hushed silence and they lay down there, together in each other’s embrace, and started at the next person down to the person’s soul. Understanding also flowed in their eyes.
Nicklaus broke the silence, "What were your writing days like?" he questioned.
Arissa squinted her gaze, "Writing days?"
Nicklaus’s free hand went under the duvet and traced Arissa’s small belly button and traced his fingers upward to her chest.
Arissa’s heart fluttered and she drew in a sharp breath, shutting her eyes. Nicklaus paused the act and waited for her to part her eyelids open.
"My wife had a mysterious past where she abruptly left for abroad without the consent of her parents and for some reasons best known to her and perhaps dark, she refused to live on her parent’s money," his voice emphasized more on his last line and he went on, "and then I found out how hardworking my wife has been,"
Arissa silently stared at him.
Nicklaus stared all around her collarbones and back into her eyes, "Why did you stop?"
If it was to be in the past, Arissa would have been provoked by this information he let out. Not many people knew her as a content writer.
The only person whom she shared that part of her life with was Jocelyn and no one else. She did her best to hide her name and background.
"What do you think?" she gave Nicklaus a calm look, letting him figure the answer himself, "I did love my job,"
Nicklaus’s brows came together, "You had to pause,"
"I had to," Arissa nodded. She pushed her body against Nicklaus’s smooth chest and laid flat on him. "I had to put everything in my life to a sudden halt when my mother called on that fateful day,"
She made a pillow on his chest using her hand. With her chin on her hands turned pillow, she started into Nicklaus’s eyes, "How did you know this? I never used my name or things to give hints about myself. It sounds creepy, don’t you think?" she reasoned, giving him a slight provocative look.
Nicklaus smiled and massaged the skin between her brows, "I’m sorry it was creepy but I was desperately curious about you then," he opened up.
The slight frown on Arissa’s face turned into a relaxed expression and she said, "Well, that’s alright but I do plan to join E-entertainment when I resume again,"
"Planning? Why planning? You’re my wife, you can join wherever you want to,"
Arissa eyed him and let out a soft chuckle, "Fucking asshoe," she laughed, "I feared people calling me a nepo baby and it made me hide my personality. What made you think I’ll use your influence? People would think I did not work to the top or whatever height I might reach, they might assume I did not deserve it and I do not want that," her voice sounded serious as she explained.
Although she doesn’t pay attention and never would, she still took notice of a few negative articles and perspectives of the media about her marriage with the world’s richest billionaire.
Most people called her selfish and greedy, saying she had money and decided to chase after it again, and now, if he should interfere in whatever career she wanted to pursue, it would make her no different from the names they called her.
Nicklaus smiled, "That doesn’t matter but I want you to know I’m always here if you need someone to talk to."
Arissa hummed and laid flat on him again, with her eyes staring at the space beside him, "I will, thanks for understanding,"
Nicklaus nodded and held her waist to himself. He raised the duvet to cover them and slowly, they fell asleep.
