Arissa was speechless when she heard those words from Nicklaus. The tiny annoyance in her disappeared, and she hugged Nicklaus with all she had.

"But I’m already involved," she said softly, kissing underneath his arm.

Nicklaus chuckled, "Yes you are. However, you’re not deeply involved yet and that’s why I’m trying my best to pull you out. I want us to live as normal couples," he mentioned.

Arissa pulled her face off Nicklaus’s chest. Crossing her right leg over his legs, she asked, "What makes you think you’ll be asked to marry the Lin heiress to get the shares?"

Nicklaus smiled and brushed a finger against the bridge of her nose. Arissa smiled back and he leaned in closer to her face. Peaking the side of her lips briefly, he dropped another one beside her ear and leaned away.

Helping her to stay comfortable in his arms, he replied to her previous question, "I didn’t think. Their reactions to my marriage and how biased they want to share the shares gave me a good viewpoint of their stance,"

Arissa moistured her lower lips with her tongue. She traced the Nicklaus jawline, "I will miss you," she confessed.

"I’ll miss you too," Nicklaus agreed and almost immediately, he added, "I have a few things to arrange when I get there," he hinted at his reason to stay for an extra two weeks.

"I think it’s time for you to get going," Arissa reminded him in understanding. She saw it in his eyes. She saw how reluctant it was for him to leave her side and it warmed her heart. But even at that, work calls and he has to get going.

"Yes, I have to," Nicklaus agreed, playing with the strands of hair covering her face. His fingers traced her arm down to her waistline, igniting every spot he touched.

"But before leaving,..." he thoughtfully played with the hem of her top, "I want to spend quality time with my little princess first. She’s going to be a bit grown before I return,"

Arissa laughed and rolled her eyes beautifully. She laid flat on her back and raised her shirt off her stomach, leaving it bare.

Nicklaus’s eyes sparkled, filled with appreciation when he saw her smooth tender skin. Raising from the bed, he sat down beside her and placed a hand on her stomach.

"I love you, you know that right?" he asked before bending a little to rest his ear on her stomach. Arissa looked down at what Nicklaus was doing. She smiled softly and gripped the sheets, trying to to cry over Nicklaus’s tender love.

"I love you to the moon and over the moon. I love you this big.." he sat up on the bed and spread his arms wide apart.

Arissa laughed seeing how he tried to demonstrate his love. He looked so cute with his arms spread apart that wide.

Her parents did not only choose a husband for her. They also choose a father for their kids and she appreciates that more than she could.

Nicklaus chuckled at the sound of her laugh and Arissa’s heartbeat fastened.

Nicklaus leaned down to her stomach again, "You saw how wide my hands were? That’s how wide my love for you is. I’ve got so much love to pour on you when you finally move out of your Momma’s stomach," he rubbed his hand softly on Arissa’s stomach and his voice turned solemn, "I’ll be gone for a few days. Momma won’t be alone but she’s going to miss me and I doubt she’s going to remember to eat early,"

Arissa laughed at his last line. She shook her head happily and stared up at the ceiling. Nicklaus stood up from the bed, walked towards his vanity table, and returned with a diamond necklace that had a blue heart-shaped pendant.

Returning to the bed, Nicklaus wore the necklace around her neck and sat down beside her, "I want you to always wear this," he pleaded with her.

Arissa raised the pendant to her line of sight, "This is beautiful," she appreciated, "I promise,"

Nicklaus let out a sigh of relief when she promised to always wear the necklace. He also loves the fact that she likes it. Nothing gives him more satisfaction than seeing her smiling over the things he does and gets for her.

Nicklaus dropped a kiss on Arissa’s stomach and continued softly, "Please don’t bother Momma so much unless Momma will be too weak to do anything and if Momma gets weak, Daddy will also get weak... wherever he is. Do you know why? Because Momma is my super strength. Also, don’t make Momma throw up randomly, help her to sleep nicely and please help her to stay strong so she doesn’t fall sick again. If Momma wants to get mad at me when I’m wrong, just let her. Stay healthy and grow properly... I can’t wait to hold you in my arms to sleep," he paused for a moment and rested his head on Arissa’s chest.

Arissa combed her fingers into Nicklaus’s hair, "I love you, Nicklaus," she said, letting her tears leave her eyes.

Nicklaus smiled and raised his head from her chest. He trapped Arissa between his arms and stared down at her, into her wet eyes.

"Are you crying because you love me?" he joked, trying to lighten up the sad air around his wife.

Arissa shook her head, "I’m crying because... because of how lucky I am," she smiled softly and wrapped her hands around his neck.

Arissa blushed at her new title. Pulling him by the neck, she sealed their lips together and kissed every corner of his mouth.
