Chapter 162: King Vilas’s decision!

Things never stopped and so was the case with Alice. She was getting overhauled with different emotions while pacing all around the giant hall.

At the same time, her troops were all concerned about her, they were all worried about the talks that might take place between King Vilas and their Young Prince.

So was the same condition with General Shane, who saw his princess getting restless. She was biting her lower lip, her nail in the uneasiness that rested in her, "Princess, I think..you’re overthinking. Your father will not take any decision which isn’t in favor of you."

Hearing this from general Shane, Alice stopped in her tracks to look at her general, "You are right. But, my father is making a decision, which I don’t want to follow."

"There must be a reason for that, Princess." General Shane defended His highness and Alice wasn’t shocked.

She knew that no one might understand what she planned to say. In fact, her heart was more than simply clustered. Just because her father wasn’t on good terms with Cyrus, she can’t expect him to be good to him either.

’Will Cyrus take his words to his heart and leave?’ The thought of Cyrus Leaving her made something churn inside her stomach.

But then, everyone who was represented heard the footsteps. They all turned around to look in the direction, seeing both KING VILAS and Prince Cyrus walking back with both their chin high. Even though the sourness didn’t reduce from King Vilas’s face, he seemed contemptuous with the talks for once.

They both walked in Alice’s way, to stop in front of father. "W-what have you decided, father?’ Alice asked, with evident hesitation.

King Vilas took a deep breath to say, "You and Cyrus can live here. We will help you so that King Almen can be defeated and Prince Cyrus can take the real seat. For that, Prince Cyrus will have to do certain things, before which I lead my army and he has already agreed to the demands."

The demands? Alice’s mind didn’t understand. She faced Cyrus, who too passed her an assured smile that seemed satisfied in his own way. "T-that...is..a good news, I guess.."

"Didn’t you want this?" King Vilas questioned when his brows raised. In response, Alice immediately shook her head, "Obviously I wanted you.. yet, I’m just..surprised."

"Surprised over what, Alice?" This time, Prince Cyrus asked but Alice was too shy to give voice to her clashing thoughts.

She will never say aloud that she had not kept her trust in Cyrus over this conversation. Convincing King Vilas was the last thing to oversee.

But since the environment got lighter the few more conversations, Alice brought up the other topics "I can’t see others..where is his brother Dominic? I have been here for so long already, why is he not here to see me?"

Alice was wondering about his absence. It was lewd to say that he won’t come running to her when he learns that her little sister was back with her Vampire husband.

He was more terrified to let her go with Cyrus.

While she was still wondering and looking forward to answers, King Vilas’s face took a drastic change in his expression. He appeared calm, yet buried in his brows.

He lifted his eyes to look behind his General, who motioned him to tell the truth too.

As expected, with a lot of courage, King Vilas finally said, "He isn’t well."

"Not well? What happened to him? Cold and cough?" Alice’s questions were never-ending and all that King Vilas found was to resolve the issue.

"Go and check in his chamber. You will get your answer directly from the priest."

....

Sitting beside her brother, Alice took Dominic’s hand into hers. She touched his face with her other hand, while the priest narrated the root causes.

"We aren’t able to identify why he is not waking up. Last night, we were determined that he will open his eyes today. But we once again sW the paleness. It is getting more confusing for us to know, princess."

"But why is the normal medicine not working if this is a very common thing?" Alice can’t help but ask, to which Priest shook his head, "Till now, all I know is that the temperature is very high. There is slightly paleness on his face and the lips are losing their color."

"Except that, I can’t see any other impacts. If you can..." Alice had no answer to this.

Whereas, Prince Cyrus was standing on the other side of the bed, slightly away. His eyes were too traced to see that Dominic’s face had swelling. It was all unknown since they all said that he had coughed blood. ’A normal temperature won’t have caused the blood to come. There is more..’

Cyrus’s brain can’t digest that prince Dominic was simply ill. It was the fade-out to avoid the real truth that each one of them is not willing to face right now.

Cyrus’s eyes traced to wee Alice, who was gazing at her brother with all those puppy eyes. She wanted to speak to him, hear his voice, but it was no use since he showed no scope of awakeness.

But then, Alice declared, "I will take care of him at night. I will put the wet cloth on his head. All of you...have failed already."

No one refutes this, but Cyrus had more to care about, "Alice, you can take care of your brother...but for now, take a nap. There is no harm for the priest to do their work for the day and at night, take care of him."

Alice heard Cyrus’s suggestion and among all the members present in the chamber agreed to these words. Alice had a rough journey already. She mustn’t exhaust her body.

And in response, Alice agreed at the same.

But, no one had an idea that reality had started to show its real color...
