His Witch Queen-Chapter 194: She has a lover!
*YESTERDAY*
Alice was standing inside her chamber, ready to shut the door on the face of Flora. However, her stand stumbled down when she heard her next wordings.
"I want to talk to you about something ugent, Sister. It’s about.. brother Dominic."
On hearing this, Alice raised her eyes. She viewed Flora from up to down, trying to decode what ill intentions this sister was caring for her.
However, her unpleasant gazes were anticipated by Flora beforehand, "You don’t trust me. I won’t blame you. But please lend me a chance to explain the situation."
"Chance... then this would be one and last chance. Afterwards, don’t say that I’m ruthless."
Alice’s clear cut warning made Flora nod her head. She stepped her foot inside the chamber and Alice closed the door of the chamber at one go. She didn’t let anyone outside hear about this meeting specially.
Instantly, Alice turned around to face Flora with her distant gaze. "Start speaking."
"I-I wanted to tell you about Brother Dominic’s death." Flora muttered with the dead fear consuming her. But she held her guards, "T-this is about how he died. He didn’t die because of mere bad health."
"I already know."
"Then you must also be aware of the poison." Flora told and this made Alice raise her brows. She passed her a soft nod.
"Perfect, then let me apprise you about a few things. It wasn’t done by anyone else but my mother. She gave poison to brother Dominic and she is the one who has caused his death." Flora’s clear cut reply surprised Alice.
She didn’t understand them but her walls against this sister of hers raised rapidly, "Are you taking me as a joke? You are saying that it was your mother who caused Dominic’s death? Hah, and you are coming towards me and saying this? Going against your mother?"
"I have my own reasons "
"Tell me about them. I’m also very interested to know the reason why you are backstabbing your own mother?"
"That isn’t the main reason."
Alice smiled at her response. She was still finding it hard to absorb and the fact that Flora stood so strongly in front of her, amused her too.
"If that’s the case..." Alice can’t help but smile, "Then I will assume that you are playing on your mother’s footsteps and are here to follow me."
Hearing this, Flora’s eyes showed the undefined mist. There was the sensation in her face which didn’t go unnoticed by Alice too. She knew pretty well that this sister of hers would not do something until she had a motive.
And knowing about his motive was her down to instigate Flora into bargaining about the reason. She was the closest person with Ira. All her secrets are enclosed with Flora. What caused Flora to go again in such a dope manner?
As Flora found Alice of not believing her, she took a deep breath. Her hesitation was visible but she managed to mutter, "These talks shouldn’t go outside of these four walls."
"Not at all."
"My mother and father are planning to fix my marriage with our neighboring kingdom. Their King is... fifties years old. I don’t want to marry him at all." Flora straightaway answered.
Meanwhile, Alice folded her hands, bringing a giant smile on that face. "You haven’t completed it. Tell me entirely."
"That’s the full truth."
"We both know it isn’t." Alice could easily see the soul through Flora. Her clear words were the hint that Flora couldn’t hide beneath her half truth.
As Flora sensed that her lie will be caught, she tells her, "T-There is someone.. I like it. I want to marry him. He is our neighborhood kingdom too and I met him some other time. We both want to marry each other but I’m sure my father will not agree because his Kingdom can’t benefit him much as my lover’s Kingdom’s loyalty lies towards King Vilas."
Amusement and surprise took Alice. She had lastly expected to see such a site on the inside too. ’So Flora has a lover?’ It was the most shocking thing to learn. However, there were more things.
"The more I know, I can easily say that your loved one was the one who suggested you go against your parents." Alice didn’t question this time but passed the final answer.
As expected, Flora also gave her a soft nod, acknowledging the situation that Alice described. There was no lie to say on the face.
Initially, Alice didn’t react too. She managed the peace within her heart but the joy was hard to miss her eyes.
It vibrated with the best color possible as she told, "Tomorrow is the session of the court. Do you know if your mother is found guilty, she will be given the death sentence?"
"I know."
"Are you still willing to proceed?"
Alice hoped to view some sense of hesitation. Yet, there was no trace of such expressions on Flora’s face at all. "I know my mother better than you. What she has done over the years is enough for me to disdain herself."
"She is my mother but her actions have made me unhappy. I wish to be happy with my lover and if I can, why not. Moreover, she isn’t a saint. I’m simply punishing the culprit."
Flora’s each word was convincing enough of Alice. She knew that this could be a bad step too. But her heart urged her to not believe so.
However, Alice still didn’t keep her hopes high from the lady. This was least expected because it is still unknown how far Alice can trust this one.
Alice thought for a while and the silence regained in the place. There was time for them to not grow distant.
But then, Alice was pulled out of her daze to lift her face and stare back at her sister. "If that’s the case, your words will be tested in the court session. Speak this truth there and if you do.... I will personally help you to get married with your lover..."
Flora’s eyes shone with happiness but the next words of Alice demotivated her, "I don’t trust you."
"So, stick to your word till tomorrow otherwise, forget about this lover but I will personally see you and your mother..."
