Honor of Kings-Chapter 2: Breaking News
Chapter 2: Breaking News
Inside a large room with several zoned areas, large windows let in bright light. The walls were lined with a series of awards won by students, the school, and its teachers. In one corner, a large bulletin board hung on the wall, while a water dispenser stood a few meters away.
Yapping... and noises.
"You are a failure. An embarrassment to the school's legacy! You shouldn't even be here!"
The few teachers seated in the staff room turned their attention toward the source of the noise. Sky stood above Mr. Mike, who was seated in a work chair facing his desk. A monitor sat on the desk, surrounded by stacks of files and mathematics books.
Sky kept his head low as the grumpy man yelled and cursed, rolling his eyes in annoyance. Even the other teachers in the room shared his irritation at the loud yapping.

'My ears... he needs auto-tune just to yap.' Sky grilled Mr Mike inwardly.
"...not to mention what you're wearing! What is this?! And where in hell is your bloody uniform?!"
Mr. Mike assessed Sky from head to toe and sighed deeply, a mix of weariness and withdrawal. Just as he was about to yell again, a figure suddenly stormed into the staff room. She held a female student by the hand and wore an expression of anger.
All the teachers, including Mr. Mike, immediately stood up. The woman's eyes roamed the room before locking onto a male teacher directly beside Mr. Mike's desk.
She walked towards the teacher and landed a staggering slap on his cheek. It instantly turned red, and the man placed a hand on it.
Gasps filled the room as two teachers rushed to stop the woman from attacking the teacher again.
The man who had been slapped was the Physical Education teacher, dressed in a blue tracksuit and a black cap that had fallen off after the heavy hit. He was quite built, standing tall at 6'4", with deep dark hair and deep brown eyes - a mid- thirty year old man.
Sky felt a wave of confusion wash over him as he stared at the mysterious woman, the PE teacher, and the girl.
His dirty mind raced, and he quickly formed a conclusion.
'Oh... Oh my God! A student-teacher relationship? And now the mother has caught on? Damn! Mr. Ben is one hell of a man! This is the kind of drama that gives me butterflies. I gotta stay to learn more about what will h—'
Suddenly, Mr. Mike nudged Sky slightly by the shoulder, signaling him to leave the room. He slowly retreated, cursing inwardly.
'Fuck! Let me get scolded! Fuck!'
Sky moved toward the exit, taking one step at a time, stylishly waiting for the exchange of words between the two people involved. However, everything fell eerily quiet, with the girl's mother heaving and sighing while the other teachers tried to calm her down.
The whole scene resembled something out of a K-drama, and since he was an avid fan, he didn't want to miss this real-life experience. But his dream was short-lived...
The girl's eyes followed Sky as he walked out of the room. They were roughly the same height, though she was captivated by his looks.

"An abomination! I'm so flabbergasted... How could he do such a thing?" A male student with dark skin and a low-cut hairstyle sparked a heated discussion among his classmates.
Sky sat at the back of the room, surrounded by multiple girls who were trying to pull him into their conversation. However, he ignored them, gazing out the window with a blank expression.
Suddenly, the blonde boy appeared out of nowhere and hopped onto Sky's table, shooing the girls away.
A low murmur of disappointment and irritation escaped their lips as they returned to their seats.
"Come on, Sky. I really need that English textbook. I've been asking for a week now..." the blonde said, glancing at the open entrance of the class.
Sky remained unfazed, continuing to stare out the window, his mind eerily blank. He wasn't even looking at anything in particular outside.
The PA system suddenly blared to life with a loud pitch, causing the students to cover their ears until it stopped.
Soon after, a deep male voice came through.
"Hello, ugly ducklings. This is someone speaking, a human being! The news I'm about to bring to you can be groundbreaking, so you might want to cry. However, I Give No F***!"
The students grimaced. It was clear who the speaker was: Mr. Ramon, the vice-principal. A rude and narcissistic old man who should have been thinking about retirement but preferred to curse at students instead.
After a brief cough, his voice continued, "As you all know, the world is under attack, and luckily we are safe thanks to the United Army of the Seven Continents. Class presidents, turn on your damn televisions in your fucked-up classrooms!"
"That damn old man..." the blonde mused.
Sky turned his head towards the front of the class; the blonde was obstructing his view, so he pushed him away and dusted the table before resting his leg on it.
The blonde scoffed as he returned to his own chair.
Thinking about it, Sky realized he didn't know any of the students' names in the class. They may have told him, but he simply paid no attention. Ultimately, he didn't care.
A young lady with soft pale skin stood up from her seat at the front. Her black hair was tied back in a ponytail, and she wore glasses that made her look pretty. Her bright green eyes sparkled with determination. This was Katie, the class president and the crush of every boy—except for Sky, a young man with no first love.
Katie moved to the front of the class, picked up a remote, and switched on the television fixed in the upper corner of the room.
The screen flickered to life, showing the National News Channel. The camera opened to a wide shot of the Oval Office, where the President was seated at the Resolute Desk. The room was elegantly decorated, with the American flag and the presidential seal prominently displayed.
Bright lights from the reporters' cameras flashed as the President prepared to speak. His worried expression was evident; the fifty-year-old man, with wrinkles and gray hair, looked directly into the camera, taking a deep breath before beginning.
President Burton:
"Good morning, my fellow citizens. I stand before you during a time of great challenge, and I have bad news—but also good news. We stand at a crossroad, and the decisions we make now will determine our survival.
"I have just received news from the Central Unity, and that is..."
The camera zoomed in slightly.
