Horror Game Designer-Chapter 675: From Beyond Han Hai
If one’s heart was clean, there was no need to fear knocking at night. However, Leader Wei had done many horrible things. The horror game players he had cut open couldn’t be counted on one hand. Leader Wei panicked. He stared at the monitor and hid a pistol under his white coat. Several minutes later, the first unknown vehicle howled past the base gate. It didn’t even slow down. Leader Wei thought this was a horror game players’ trick. However, when none of the vehicles stopped at the gate, he finally realised something was wrong.
The flickering lights surrounded a location, like stars circling the moon.
“Han Hai City Square?”
…
The black dog hid in the shadows. One hundred seventeen possessed salespeople were shoved into the torture room. Han Hai City Centre Mall was cleaned out by Gao Ming. He sat by the side of the balcony and looked out on the empty city square. When the salespeople came out of the torture room, they were more polite. They stopped asking about the prices of Gao Ming’s internal organs. They also stopped pushing Gao Ming to buy the human organs on their shelves.
“I hate forced sales. Businesspeople should put the quality of their products first.” Gao Ming toyed with the head of a big ghost. He became the mall’s new owner. “These rotten human organs contain resentment and hatred. They are perfect vessels for curses. If we run an honest business, horror game players and researchers will be our clients. Humans and ghosts can make use of each other.” Gao Ming held the big ghost’s head and stared into its eyes. “Don’t you agree?”
The only big ghost in the mall was a monster from the shadow world. It was ugly and scary, but it desired beauty. Therefore, it took over the prettiest woman in the mall. She was a celebrity who was there for a promotion. The monster didn’t vanquish the woman’s soul after it took over her body. Instead, it trapped her deep inside its brain. That was why Gao Ming didn’t kill the big ghost. The big ghost’s head couldn’t stop shaking. It was ready to perish, but Gao Ming suddenly moved his eyes away to look down the path outside the mall.
The engines roared. Several cars drove into the square. Only Fan Li knew his location, so they were there to fetch Gao Ming. The car wheels crunched the broken sticks. The cars honked, and more vehicles arrived.
Some were well-hidden with blackened windows. Other cars had gaudy stickers that promoted the horror game players. As more vehicles entered from all sides, Gao Ming frowned. Many vehicles had permission plates from Han Hai’s other zones.
“How many people did Fan Li inform?”
Gao Ming hadn’t interacted with so many people in a long time. The endless motorcade unsettled him. Gao Ming didn’t need such a loud welcome. He was over the age of requiring attention. He took out the phone Uncle Qi gave him and logged into the forum to scold Fan Li. Then, he turned to disappear into the shadows.
More and more cars stopped at the square. Horror game players, dressed uniquely, walked through the sick zones. Some were friends, and others were competitors. Regardless, they put down their differences at that moment.
Outside the square, the surveillance vehicles from the East City Investigation Centre hid in the forest. The investigators in the cars were so nervous that their palms were sweaty. After people gained superpowers, they would become arrogant, enlarging the flaws in their personality. However, no one managed to make so many horror game players wait patiently, without causing trouble.
A few minutes later, a modified car with broken bones and bloodstains entered the square. All the players moved out of the way. The car paused near the mall. The car door opened, and a man with half a ghost mask walked out.
“Fan Li!”
The man was covered in wounds, and his skin was embedded with deep black ghost tattoos. He didn’t have the investigation centre’s high-end equipment, but he had a strong will. He attached the ghost tattoo to the cursed objects and slowly sewed the cursed objects into his flesh.
The process was as painful as branding. All the players regarded the man with admiration. Fan Li might not be the strongest horror game player, but he was the one who helped the most humans. Many horror game players were saved by Fan Li. He was a real hero.
“Officer Fan!”
“Brother Fan!”
Fan Li smiled at everyone as he walked into the mall. Some sensitive players noticed that Fan Li, who dared to face any ghosts, appeared to be nervous.
“I’m probably mistaken.”
Most horror game players chose to stay outside. A few people followed Fan Li. They were dressed in black robes. Flowers wilted as they walked by.
The investigators from Han Hai were curious. They wanted to know the purpose behind this gathering. However, before any question was answered, all the communications in their car were cut off. The signals were silenced. A car with the Xin Lu Investigation Centre sign slowly drove into the city square.
Compared to the horror game players, the Xin Lu Investigators were more professional.
Many horror game players turned their noses down in displeasure when they saw this. However, no one dared to say anything.
The car paused beside Fan Li’s car. A handsome man in a pressed suit stepped out. He wore Xin Lu Investigator’s blood band. His face wore no expression, but his hair had gone white.
“That’s the captain of Team One! He’s here too?!”
“That traitor has killed a lot of us in the past.”
“Shush. That man is too powerful for us to offend.”
The outside noises didn’t affect the man. He entered the mall with firm steps.
He walked up the stairs until he reached the roof.
His eyes turned to one spot. His white hair fluttered in the wind. The man focused on the young man standing in the shadows and blurted out a name, “Gao Ming.”
The top horror game players were looking at the same man.
Scanning the familiar faces, Gao Ming smiled. “I’ve returned.” He raised his finger to point at the black mist along the city’s horizon. “From outside Han Hai!”
