Chapter 76 - 76 – Deal Sealed, Humiliating Annoying Guy

That managed to get his attention. His eyes went wide open. "What!?"

I took a deep breath and said calmly, "I found 2 Umbrella Corp's secret laboratories before arriving here. I infiltrated them with a few people that I trust the most."

"You infiltrate Umbrella Corp?" He looked surprised. Then he rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "I don't know whether to believe you or not, kid."

"Japan might not be as big as America, but the corporation surely had their secret facility." I continued, "We infiltrated their lab and discovered some vital information, mainly about T-Virus and Las Plagas. As proof..."

I paused and fished the keycard I obtained from that researcher infected by Las Plagas. The red and white logo was still visible, albeit a bit dirty. "I have this keycard from a scientist that works for them."

Major General John Mason took the card from me and inspected it carefully. Then, he asked, "Is there any more?"

"No, but that card has a Level 2 clearance for their laboratory. If you help us provide transport to Chicago, then that card will be yours, sir."

In a negotiation, the most effective bait was one that the target would want. I didn't know how much a keycard could help, but it should have some use. And based on my expression, it seemed to work. He wanted that card. I just needed to seal the deal now.

I paused briefly and then said, "That card has the Umbrella logo and the magnetic strip is still working. I used it to enter their lab safely without triggering the alarm system, so I can vouch that it's genuine."

"I see. I can give you guys shelter but we don't have any helicopter to send to Chicago, at least until the problem is solved."

There it was again, the problem. freewebnσvel.cøm

"What is this problem? Is Chicago in a state of chaos or something?" I asked, trying to get information about the current situation.

"You can say that." John nodded grimly.

Surprised, I said, "Is there any way for me to go there?"

"I will have to say no. The situation is too chaotic to send any unit there. Even a simple supply delivery to a nearby town has to be guarded by a small platoon." He explained, "We don't have the resources nor manpower to escort you to that city, so I have to reject your request. But I will contact the main headquarters and inform them of your arrival. It might take a few days, though."

Well, at least they accepted our presence.

I sighed deeply. "I understand, sir."

I could not argue further because there was nothing left for me to say.

After talking for a while, he allowed us to stay within the camp as long as our weapons were in the humvee. More hands were always welcome when it came down to defending ourselves from zombies.

They would provide the food and a new tent for us.

"Thank you, sir." I bowed gratefully. "Then I will take my leave now."

"You're free to go." The major waved me away. He was already focusing back on his paperwork. He didn't seem interested in chatting anymore.

I walked out and approached the soldiers who escorted me. Sergeant Brown was there too, waiting outside with a serious expression.

"We will help you set the tent if you don't know how."

I chuckled. "Thank you. I appreciate that. Let's go."

Like that, we decided to stay in this basecamp for a while.

***

The soldiers kindly helped me to raise our five-men tent. Private Clark and Corporal Williams carried the poles, and the others held up the canvas.

It was quite a hassle, since the tent was big and heavy.

Private Clark looked like a teenager, barely 18. He had short black hair, brown eyes, and pale skin.

The soldier beside him, Corporal Williams was an older man. Probably 30 years old, with dark blonde hair and greenish brown eyes, he looked quite handsome.

Not as handsome as me, but yeah.

Our tent was inside the fence, tucked in the corner of the base. It wasn't the best place for us, but we didn't mind as long as there wasn't a zombie invasion or something similar happening soon.

As I put down the poles and other equipment needed for the tent, the soldiers got busy raising the canvas. Soon after, everything was ready. We had a new home! It was just a temporary one though.

And then, I exited the base to call for my group. When I stepped out, I saw a soldier trying to chat up with the girls. They were clearly not interested, but he didn't give up.

'Ah... the classic horny guy in a military uniform, trying to get into women's pants. There is always someone like that in the army.' I chuckled to myself, 'Well, I will not allow it. Those girls are mine, after all.'

"Excuse me." I called out to the man and Saeko smiled at me.

Meanwhile, the guy turned around quickly and gave me an annoyed glare. Based on his insignia, he was just a Private. A grunt, nobody who could get sent to the battlefield without anything in his pants.

"What?" He growled in annoyance.

At that moment, the system made its appearance.

[Make your choice!]

Kindly asked the annoying man to leave (Reward: 20 Shop Points) Punch the guy for annoying you (Reward: 25 Shop Points) Taunt the guy for being rejected (Reward: 35 Shop Points) Humiliate him so he will get laughed by the other (Reward: 50 Shop Points)

I snorted at those options. The system was getting better at trolling me, but I liked it this time.

As I was pondering which choice I should choose, the man said angrily, "Hey, are you ignoring me!?"

"Ah, sorry. I am not ignoring you, Private..."

He was getting angry at me, probably thinking I was weak because I was just a civilian.

Well, he would regret it if I chose option two. But no, that would be a mercy.

Usually I never went with the system's fourth choice, but this time I decided that this would be fun.

"Hey! Don't ignore me, I said!" He growled.

And at that moment, I decided.

"Shush, let me think." I told him.

"What!?"

"I am still thinking how to deal with an idiot whose face is like a monkey and brain like a goldfish and can only think to get into women's pants, like a rabbit. I bet his dick is smaller than his little finger too, and he probably ejaculates after 5 seconds."

At that, the soldiers who heard me laughed. They tried not to show it, but it was hard for them. I mean, this man was talking to my girls and it was a bit of a shame that he got owned like that.

[Ding! You have received 50 Shop Points!]

The guy was angry beyond reason and grabbed my collar. He looked like he was going to hit me.

"You motherfucker! Do you know who you are messing with? I am going to fuckin—"

At that, I punched him in the face twice at a fast speed.

Thud! thud!

He fell on his ass with blood leaking out of his broken nose and a blackened eye. I towered over him and looked down on him. He looked shocked, and it was obvious why.

Even if his rank was a Private, the lowest in the military hierarchy, he should still be trained and was stronger than normal civilians. And yet I punched him lightly and broke his nose. I had gotten too strong.

He held his broken nose and screamed at me, "You fucking asshole! Do you want me to court martial you!?"

"You're the one who doesn't understand the situation here." I said calmly.

What use was court martial in this broken world? And he actually grabbed me, who just made a deal with Major General John Mason and was given a shelter.

I was about to punch him but stopped when I noticed Sergeant Brown walked out of the encampment. He got shocked upon seeing this Private sprawling on the ground with a bloodied nose.

"What happened here?!"

I said, "Sergeant, I was going to bring my people inside when this Private grabbed my shirt and threatened to beat me. So I punched him instead."

Sergeant Brown turned his gaze towards the man, "Private! What do you think you are doing!?" he said in an angry voice, making the guy jump up.

"I—I am sorry, sir! But he—"

"Did you just make an excuse for your mistake!?"

"No sir! I didn't make an excuse! I was just stating the facts!"

"And did those facts justify grabbing and threatening to beat a civilian!?" He asked in an angry tone.

"N-No, sir!"

"Then apologize to him, soldier!"

"Yes, sir!"

I smiled when he apologized to me. He was forced to, but still. It felt nice. I looked at him, he really did look like an ugly monkey. No, that would be rude to a monkey.

"Alright. Private, 50 push-ups right now. After that, you will be on watch duty for 2 shifts."

"But—"

"Did you hear what I just said, soldier!?"

"Sir, yes, sir!"

With that, he began doing his punishment while Sergeant Brown apologized to me and the girls.

"Alright, he's out of the picture now. Come with me. I will show you where to park your car."
