How to Make the Perfect Demon Lord-Chapter 78: A Grid Lion
All the demons were gathered back at the construction site. With the teleportation machine finally repaired, the entire hall buzzed with life. For the first time in a long while, they no longer feared being trapped in the world of the living. The path back to Astoria was clearer than it had ever been.

The door to the hall finally opened.
Every demon’s eyes turned toward it as Jamie stepped inside.
Their expressions immediately brightened with happiness. It felt like the moment a father returned home from work after being away for too long—the one person whose efforts paid for the family’s survival finally standing at the door again.
Clap.
Clap.
They began clapping their hands in admiration.
Jamie had just done the impossible. A problem-solver at his finest. A man like that deserved his flowers while he was still alive.
Jamie stood still, his hands shifting nervously while his cheeks reddened. Whenever people admired him like this, a warm feeling gathered in his gut that made him blush uncontrollably.
A rather distasteful trait for a Demon Lord to have.
Because moments like this would likely repeat themselves whenever he did something extraordinary.
"It’s okay, guys. You can stop now."
He spoke gently, in a tone that both acknowledged their admiration and quietly asked them to ease up. That strange sensitivity had slowly begun to return to his character.
But the demons didn’t stop immediately. They kept clapping for several more seconds before the sound finally faded away.
"Before we continue with whatever we were doing, I just want to introduce someone. She may be different from us, but we shouldn’t rush to conclusions. Because we’ve witnessed firsthand that there is still some good left in this world."
Everyone grew curious.
Even Kasa.
Jamie had never told any of them that he planned to bring an elf into their base—let alone a member of the Grid Lions who had once tried to kill him.
What are you up to, Jamie?
Kasa wondered silently. Whoever this visitor was, they were important enough to warrant a speech.
Thud. Thud.
Sandra stepped into the room.
She walked with the quiet hesitation of a visitor who knew she was out of place.
The room fell silent instantly.
It was as if someone had switched off the voices in the hall. A suffocating stillness swallowed the entire space.
Every demon stared at her.
Frozen.
No one seemed to know how to react.
Until—
Ela rushed out of the group.
She was the same girl Jamie had saved earlier from a Genki.
Her footsteps echoed loudly across the hall as she ran toward Sandra, her face serious enough to make everyone wonder what she intended to do.
No one stopped her.
They simply watched.
Then, as if sent to break the suffocating silence in the room, she wrapped her arms around Sandra’s legs.
Because of her height, she could only hug that far—her head resting against Sandra’s waist.
Sandra froze in shock.
A strange warmth gathered in her stomach while another sensation climbed up her spine.
Ela raised her head and met Sandra’s eyes. Her beautiful gaze was filled with proud excitement.
Everyone quickly began forming their own explanations for what they were seeing.
Maybe it was the fantasy movies on Earth that made elves seem friendly.
Maybe it was simply because Ella had never seen an elf before.
But the truth behind her actions was none of those things.
"Welcome to our home... Jamie’s girlfriend!"
"What?!!" 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
The entire hall shouted in unison.
Sandra stood stunned.
Her first instinct was to immediately deny it. But when Jamie’s image flashed through her mind, her face grew warm.
Her thoughts melted into embarrassment.
Suddenly—
"Hahahaha!"
The demons burst into laughter.
The entire atmosphere inside the construction site flipped upside down. What could have become a tense standoff instead turned into a lively scene.
"She thinks she’s Jamie’s girlfriend!"
"She’s such a kid!"
"But don’t dismiss it too quickly. The girl’s pretty... and with the way Jamie introduced her, we shouldn’t rule it out."
"Yeah, you’re right. I’ve never seen Jamie introduce someone like that before."
Sandra carefully controlled her emotions, masking them beneath years of practiced composure. She forced a polite smile as she responded to Ela, who still stared up at her with bright admiration.
"Thank you for calling me that. Jamie is a good person... but I’m not his girlfriend."
Sandra was intelligent.
She understood that denying it in a way that embarrassed Jamie could easily turn the demons against her. So she rejected the idea in the gentlest way possible.
"Woooh, the way she turned that down while still caring about her feelings."
"I’ve never seen such a nice elf before."
"She’s cool."
"And her breasts are big too."
One man commented casually.
His wife immediately smacked him across the head.
"Did you forget you have a wife?!"
She shouted angrily.
A reminder that demons, just like humans, still had husbands who got yelled at by their wives.
"Okay, I understand, Jamie’s girlfriend."
"If you could remove the ’Jamie’s girlfriend’ part, that would be nice."
"Anything for you, Jamie’s girlfriend."
Invisible wrinkles formed across Sandra’s mental forehead.
That does it. This kid is doing it on purpose.
She thought irritably.
But she kept her composure.
Even though a few sharp-eyed observers noticed the tension behind her smile—especially Kasa.
He still watched Sandra like an enemy he might need to deal with someday.
And the invisible chain Jamie had placed on her to keep her from wandering too far proved something important.
This situation was not what it appeared to be.
Jamie crouched down to Ella’s height.
"Alright, Ella. Let’s let Auntie Sandra go talk with the grown-ups now."
Ella nodded happily and ran back toward the others, waving excitedly at Sandra.
He’s talking like I’m not inside his stupid prison.
Sandra thought coldly.
No worries. I just have to get through this... then everything will be fine.
Within minutes, she was deep in conversation with the demons. She laughed at their jokes, and they laughed at hers.
Surprisingly, she fit in.
Jamie watched from a distance, a faint smile spreading across his face.
"You know that wouldn’t have happened without Ella."
Kasa spoke beside him. The two of them stood side by side like supervisors observing a construction site.
"That’s why she’s an angel," Jamie replied calmly. "How did it go with Bray?"
"He left quickly. Said he had some fundraising calculations to deal with... but let’s get to the real question here."
Kasa turned toward him.
"Why is an elf here?"
"Giving her a taste of demons. We tried to give humans our love, and they rejected it. We never gave elves a chance. So I’m taking that chance before the battles begin."
Jamie explained plainly.
His reasoning was difficult to argue with. From almost every angle, it sounded positive. It even offered demons the possibility of a new ally in the world—besides the deep-sea monsters they were often forced to rely on.
Still...
Something bothered Kasa.
"Wait. Then why did you put that barrier on her—"
"Attention, everybody!"
Jamie suddenly interrupted loudly.
The dramatic tone made it obvious he was deliberately avoiding the question.
Everyone in the room turned toward him.
"We will now proceed with the teleportation."
Only then did they remember the entire reason they had gathered.
With the joy of the moment, they had almost forgotten.
Demons had lived harsh lives for many years. Because of that, they had learned to cherish rare moments like this one.
But now the time had come.
.....
Within minutes, everyone stood on the teleportation pad.
Their faces were filled with excitement.
This time was different from the first attempt.
Even the guards who had been stationed outside the construction site were now standing on the pad alongside the scientists. The captured traitor had been tied tightly so he couldn’t escape—even in the worst-case scenario.
The female scientist at the control panel activated the machine while another monitored the surrounding systems.
Lights flickered across the device.
The demons slowly began floating into the air.
Then a deep mechanical hum built inside the machine, sounding like a car engine accelerating at impossible speed.
The demons waved goodbye to those remaining behind—including Sandra.
Then they vanished.
The teleportation had finally succeeded.
Cheers erupted inside the hall. The barrier that had trapped them here for so long was finally gone.
But the celebration lasted only a moment.
Suddenly—
Boom!!!
A violent explosion tore through the entrance wall.
The entire structure collapsed inward as dust and debris filled the hall.
Before the smoke had even settled, a man stepped through the destruction.
Captain Ron of the Grid Lions.
He looked as stylish as ever, dressed in a sharp suit decorated with gold chains.
But he wasn’t alone.
Behind him came hundreds of Genkis—some flying, some crawling along the walls, others dragging themselves across the ground.
Every single one of them radiated pure bloodlust.
