Hunter Of The Six Realms-Chapter 44: Flame slayer
Chapter 43
Kaizen opened his stats tab.
I have to find a way to balance 160 points quickly before that creature attacks.
"30 points goes for speed. 20 points goes for agility. 30 goes for vitality. 30 for strength. 20 for intelligence, and 20 for stamina."
There’s extra 10 left, I should add that one to speed. I need more speed.
"10 more points for speed."
Once the distribution was complete, his stats popped up.
[TITLE: FLAME SLAYER
NAME OF HOST: KAIZEN
AGILITY: 35
STRENGTH:42
VITALITY:40
SPEED:50
INTELLIGENCE:40
STAMINA:29
LEVEL: 2]
Already level two, that’s great improvement. If I’m able to kill this dragon, I might go even higher, maybe level five or more.
"Alright then," Kaizen said, cracking his neck as his dagger materialized in his hand once more. He wanted to get stronger, he wanted power, and he got the perfect tool to help him grow, to force him to evolve. And now that he understood, he wasn’t complaining.
He launched forward to the dragon, flames bursting beneath his feet. He aimed straight for the dragon’s neck, his blade pulled back. He could feel his boost in strength and speed. With new found confidence, he swung his dagger.
But the dragon moved faster, It’s tail whipped across the field like a blur. Kaizen barely saw it, he sensed danger but had no time to counter because of how fast it’s tail moved.
BOOM.
It hit him like a log of wood, instantly sending him flying and crashing hard into the rocky ground. Pain exploded through his sides, he couldn’t even scream before another notification blinked into view.
[VICTORY IS IMPOSSIBLE, BEAST IS OF HIGHER LEVEL THAN HOST]
[LIFE THREAT DETECTED.]
[FORCIBLE EJECTION IN 3... 2... 1...]
And just like that, Kaizen suddenly found himself standing once again in the exact place he was before the whole thing started.
His clothes, shoes, hair... everything was same. All the burns and stains he’d gotten from fighting were no where to be seen. Everything suddenly felt like a dream, like it never happened.
There was only one way to confirm if it really happened.
"Open stats."
The system blinked and he was showed his stats.
The changes took effect, which means it was real afterall. That dragon, damn, it was fast. I didn’t even get the chance to land a single hit.
"Kaizen!" A voice called, and Kaizen’s expression instantly turned cold as he recognized the owner of the voice, but he refused to turn or acknowledge him..
Not again, when will he get a life for fucks sake.
"Kaizen!" Rulo repeated, now taking hurried angry footsteps towards Kaizen. The last time, he couldn’t finish dealing with Kaizen when someone suddenly interrupted. Not just anyone, but someone he couldn’t oppose.
Kaizen decided to answer this time, but just as he turned to face Rulo, he was instantly blasted off his feet by a sudden rush of energy that Rulo released.
"Don’t you dare ignore me you again pathetic trash,"
Kaizen landed hard against the nearby bench, his head slamming against a rock and sending a shooting pain to his skull.
Right now, the place they were was away from people’s eyes, it was a secluded park not many people came to. And they was the only reason Rulo had the guts to attack him like that, because there wouldn’t be eye witnesses or anyone to save him this time.
"I’ve been waiting for this chance. You think you’re something now huh? It’s just me and you today Kaizen,no one is coming to save you." Rulo’s eyes burned with rage, he still carried the grudge from that day till now, and he had come to complete what he couldn’t finish, and also get his revenge on Kaizen for how the princess had humiliated him in front of so many people.
Several ice shards were already hovering in the air as Rulo prepared to send another attack to Kaizen without giving him the chance to get up first.
"Wait." Kaizen stopped him, groaning as he stood up. He had hit his head really badly, he would have passed out if the system hadn’t instantly healed him, the same way it had done when it first awakened in him.
"You know, this is really getting old. How many years has it been now, what’s the deal with your obsession over me? Is there something you’re afraid of? Do I intimidate you? Is that it?" Kaizen asked, his tone cold and taunting as he walked closer to Rulo with a deadly gaze.
He was done being the weak pawn always thrown around and used to catch fun. He’d had enough from him. After so many years, he finally had the power to fight back, and no way in hell was he letting this chance go to waste.
On the other hand, Rulo was speechless, he’d never seen such deadly expression from Kaizen. That look was of a predator observing and intimidating it’s prey before it finally striked.
He backed away instinctively as Kaizen walked closer, his previous expression transforming into fear and disbelief. This couldn’t be Kaizen, somehow he could sense it, he could sense that something was different.
But Rulo quickly snapped out of it when he realized how cowardly he was being. This boy had no magic, he was weak and couldn’t even fight back, why in the world would he feel intimidated by someone as insignificant as Kaizen.
A cocky mocking smirk curled on Rulo’s lips, the fear instantly disappearing."You really grew some bones just because some princess came to your rescue one time. You think I’m intimidated by you? You make me laugh Kaizen, who do you think you are?"
Kaizen stood still, as he let Rulo run his mouth, but his expression remained emotionless.
"Not in a thousand years, no matter how long or how hard you train, you’ll never surpass me. You’ll always be nothing but trash Kaizen. A play thing, my play thing and nothing more. So don’t you dare talk back to me, you’ll always be nothing." Rulo yelled, finally snapping as he lunged ice shards at Kaizen.
But suddenly, before he could make sense of anything, a hand came out of nowhere and struck his face with so much force that his head snapped back and slammed into the ground.
"You talk too much." Kaizen muttered in a cold whisper
