Husband you've abandoned me. Fine, I'll focus on raising my son-Chapter 236: Coming to terms
"You have a child together, Jasmine. He’s still young and you two both care for him. Wouldn’t it be best if you both stayed together and raise him? As Anthony is your only child he will become the heir to the Acland group," she tried to convince me.
"How do I know he won’t abandon my son and I again? He already did it once, whose to say he won’t do it again and abandon me a second time?" I made a point.
She then suddenly slammed her fist on the table. "Can you not see the effort he is making for you?! You are the only woman he sees," She yelled at me. My eyes widened in shock at how angry and passionate she was.
" Jasmine I’ve always thought of you as a kind and polite woman who never argues or is too opinionated. Do you know how rare it is for a man to admit he’s wrong and actually want to change? Do not you realize that he is also a victim in this too?! He never knew Diana was deceiving him."
She was fully convinced I was in the wrong. I had never seen Lauren lash out before. She was always calm, collected, and poised.
I was hoping explaining myself to her would make her realise and perhaps even side with me. I was hoping as a woman she would understand since she had gone through something similar but instead something else had become apparent. It’s clear she was imposing how she wished her marriage to Keith’s father had gone.
The truth is she never wanted to divorce Keith’s father. She loved him but he was never going to change his ways and stop seeing other women so she had no choice but to leave him.
"I’ll think about it, Lauren," I told her deciding to end the conversation there. "Right, now and I want us to focus on finding our son who is top priority right now."
If I wanted out of this I had to stick to relying on myself as I had already been doing.
Lauren’s lips parted as if she wanted to argue but she couldn’t argue with that. Tony was the most important thing right now.
She stared at me carefully for a moment. "I’m sure you’ll come to your senses soon," she followed up. "Family is the most important thing. And as a wife and mother you will realize how important it is to keep it together."
As a mother I think the most important thing is making sure your children safe environment rather than keeping a family together and Keith wasn’t a safe environment.
Lauren’s outburst stayed with me however, she mentioned Keith’s eyes were only on me. Which I found strange and assumed Laueen was being dramatic. However, Keith is only keeping me to save face and for his ego.
The two of us returned to the mansion I was internally fuming when I saw Keith. As evening approached we had dinner together with Keith. It mainly consisted of Lauren asking for updates on the investigation to find Tony. Keith then gave details on the information he had received form the bank concerning the culprit res
"The bank employee is currently under police custody and he is being questioned want to find out who made him do it. We all know it isn’t " Keith continued with his update.
After dinner, we went to the mansion entrance to see Lauren off.
Keith stepped forward and hugged as well as gave his mother a kiss on the cheek. "Take care, mum," he said to her.
She drew close to Keith and I then placed her hands on our shoulders.
"I know you will find Anthony soon and I hope you two can can work things out," were her final words to us. She then turned away as the door closed behind her. Once she was gone I turned to Keith beside me and gave him a nasty glare.
"Real nice of you to make your mother try to gaslight me into being okay with all this," I said to him as I glared.
He kept a cool, unreadable expression but didn’t respond, and I wasn’t surprised. I scoffed. However, as annoyed as I was more concerned about something else.
"I want to discuss the bank details further,"I told him.
He then turned to me and gave. I was willing put everything aside today as long as I gained something about finding Tony. "Of course," Keoth agreed. He took us to his office and we continued compiling information.

TONY’S POV
We were on the road for what felt many hours. We only stopped when either Marco and I had to pee. The maid beside us had food packed for when we got hungry.
Why were changing houses? I wondered.

I realised we had different grandmothers.
I remembered my own grandmother. She was still alive and I used to see her sometimes when my mum and I lived with dad but we were not close. I didn’t know her too well. I saw grandfather way more.
So our dads were brothers...but not from the same mother. Kind of like what I thought Marco and I were initially. My mind was trying to understand the our family which was like a puzzle.
We ate breakfast and then went to clean up in the bathroom when we were done.
Our bathroom was not inside our room I wondered why. All my bedrooms in the houses I had lived in had a bathroom inside them. But even though it wasn’t in the room it was next to our room. Marco and I finished cleaning up brushing our teeth, washing our face etc.
Marco opened the door and as I expected him to walk out into the hallway. However, as he stepped out he then quickly turned around and hid behind the wall of the room, cowering in fear.
My eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
